Well you have to take into account why Sakura and Hinata confessed: desperation. Sakura wanted Sasuke to stay in the village/just wanted to be with him, and Hinata thought she was going to die. And you can't exclude why Naruto didn't "work hard" to get Sakura's love, you're ignoring the context which is always important, plus you're just being unfair to him.
I can disregard the reason Naruto didn't confess because both Hinata/Sakura had a reason to why they didn't "work harder", Sasuke was evil and Hinata was shy, besides that would hold any round if Naruto stopped displaying obvious romantic advances to Sakura but he didn't. Sakura hasn't tried to pursue a relationship with Sasuke in Part 2 until 699 when he is good. I like Naruto and think he's a selfless character so I don't think i'm being unfair....
Check that Chapter again Sakura was faking it , Ino clearly implies that Sakura is hiding her feelings and the fact that she knew that Sasuke is popular . Furthermore there is no reason for Sakura to ask Ino if she loves Sasuke if she didn't already knew that and make her a rival to break of her shadow , and also why she wanted to be acknowledged by Sasuke to gain some self worth and be accepted by the others bc of her past . That are feelings born out of rivalry P1 is full with Rivalry of InoSaku fighting for Sasuke like he's an trophy that on itself is proof enough and its disgusting .
Its true she did disregarded both of their feelings then (though she doesn't even knows or understands Sasuke's for Naruto she knew what it means) but I was arguing that you said it was an act of "selflessness" for Sasuke , what you said now clearly debunks that . The difference with Sakura when its about Naruto is that she was selfless more then once bc she's doing it to protect his feelings/dreams and she has fought to protect his feelings and dreams bc she understands him . With Sasuke it was never the case bc she simply doesn't understand him and doesn't even try to do that but she did it with Naruto that's the huge difference .
If you look at her whole flashback (which was more focused on her feelings & fangrling )and the context of that scene its not bc she remembered the old Sasuke but bc of her feelings come to the surface again , its her feelings that stoped her not who Sasuke was (who btw that wasn't good with her then either ) . You can twist it however you like its still doesn't change that back that the "Kill you bc I love you" kitten is an huge contradiction on itself you can't have both .
That's true but you're using double standards now why is it OK to say it in the case of Hinata and Sakura but not in Naruto's just bc he's like that !? You're forgetting that Naruto was in love with Sakura that's what separates her from the others and what makes his feelings of love for her and actions pure selfless . And btw Naruto's actions doesn't debunk Sakura's & Hinata's selfishness for Sasuke and Naruto , everyone stands on its own by what has been show .
You can't exclude it just bc both of them confessed that's like erasing all the development NS had . And I'm sorry but since when is confessing out of the blue counts as doing more work !? If I go and confess to a girl now who I barely even know her or spend time with her does that mean I've worked hard for our relationship and for us to get together !? No it doesn't mean that I've worked hard that's faulty logic there .
You can't just disregard the development of NS on Naruto's part it doesn't work like that . Like I said Naruto bust his ass of to change Sakura's heart by being there for her emotionally and physically , giving her support , cheering her up complimenting on her achievements and her as a person . That is how you literary Build Up an relationship that's Development right there and Hard Work .
Also I keep pointing this out Naruto's feelings were Retconed His whole character was and so was his plot which btw confessing to Sakura was a Romance plot point which Kikitten Retconed bc the mofo sold out to Hinakittens Popularity and her Rabid Otaku Fanbase . That's kittening literature assassination 101 . Its not that Naruto didn't worked its Kikittenkitteningmoto that Retconed the whole story and destroyed it .
My point is that Sakura didn't start liking Sasuke because of Ino, Sakura (Being a kitten friend) wanted to know if Ino liked Sasuke because she didn't want both her and Ino to like him. Sakura wants to be acknowledged by Sasuke not because of others, she has Lee and Naruto who would gladly praise her in a second.
Sakura cares a lot about Sasuke so she doesn't want to see him go more into the darkness (Blame Kakashi/Naruto for not telling her why he is), when Sakura decided to kill Sasuke.
She tells Sasuke she would help him with his revenge (AKA Dream), and when Sasuke became evil she isn't going help him with it because its negative (Itachi was a criminal while Konoha is "good") while Naruto's is positive.
I don't disregard Naruto feelings because my main point is that he didn't work any harder than Hinata/Sakura.
Eh IDK about confessing, Sakura literally confessed right by him to Sasuke, if you look at Part 1 there were signs of Naruto being sad about that but ultimately being mature about it, in this sense yep he is selfless, for some reason SP ignored this and just made it about a rivalry.....
