Is there any reason to keep it a secret? Why even a secret? There's no need to be secret. It's more like ask the question, not "I can't tell you. It's too horrifying." Joichiro is not that much of a secret to be classified, rather something you should ask simply.

Yeah exactly !!! I mean from Saiba (originally) to Yukihira now you tell me how does that make one a Nakiri !? Its that simple . The only secret about Joichiro is his past/history with Senzaemon and the Nakiri's events (which we'll get it next chapter probably ) but not from a familial point of view as in they being related . Really its not so difficult  to understand instead of pulling stuff up their ars .

There's no need to keep it a secret really. Like Ryo said, it's just a name. Yes, it's a well known name, by it's not like bloodline limit stuff. If anything, it could be just what Joichiro did in that school that probably left something "revolutionary."

Well the name in that world is famous/important but not from that pov and to the point that needs to be hidden or a secret bc there's no point in it , so yeah you're right on both occasions . I on the other hand am dying to find out what's next and the revealing of the history and the events .

Yeah I know but they act like they're father and son for real I think its pretty much clear , I mean why cover that fact in the first place !? . 

 

Well I bet it has something to do with Erina and his training which I guess it was extremely radical , since Senzaemon says living Erina to him was the biggest mistake he did  hence why she's like dormant in his presence and clearly mentally damaged . But yeah that still doesn't answer the question of wtf did he really do to Erina !? Burn her tongue , make her taste awful crap , torture her for every mistake !? .

At times, I feel like Senzaemon was once like that or at least too strict on perfection, but maybe Joichiro proved him wrong that anyone can cook.

Apart from what I said about Erina , I have no clue at all . I don't know really , some people just go to far in order to achieve perfection in whatever they pursue and kind of lose themselves maybe this is that kind of a case !? . As for Senzaemon while that might be possible but I find it hard to believe bc he really really doesn't strike me as such or such thing would have been mentioned already by the food critics or Azami don't you think so !?

While true, I don't know why Joichiro is such a name that only those who were with him know about it like he's a hidden legend. Doujima picked up quickly when he heard "Yukihara," which means around that time, Joichiro has already met that person with that last name? It's a mystery that could be easily dealt with.

Well it might be because he had an incident with Azami if they were in the same class/year/generation and he got expelled unrightfully and those who get expelled all of their records are hidden or destroyed like Azami's !?  True or Gin could have found out about her later but yours seems more probable . Well how do you think it can , what's your full theory on all of this !?

Well, I don't know about Azami, but I wonder when did Joichiro meet his wife. I mean that advice/theme in chapter 1 is very significant coming from him, it must be something that really made his life turn differently. So my guess is that it has to do a lot with his wife during his days at Tootsuki but maybe it could be after. I really don't know but it's something that is important, thanks to chapter 1.

But if its in Tootsuki then how does that corelates with the events and his expulsion !?  The author did said he will reveal something about Soma's mother death and why he decided to become a cook , you think this is related and might something be revealed in the upcoming chapter !? . I can't say it's connected to all of those unanswered questions, but it's definitely an important piece. Otherwise, don't you think it's random of him to say something like that. It also marks that ending is romance without being such a harem comedy. Unlike any others that have their method of cooking to their greatness, Soma's unknown trait has no loophole other than "woman." Unless you say he can always move on to another woman to unlock his full potential, but that's not happening.

I see. Yeah Yeah I know its not random it was a clear foreshadowing , not that I'm complaining actually its good when its set up like that in the beginning and then only thing left is for you to see their development gradually . God forbid if it turned into a harem ugh !!!  .

Funny about the next page. But I should comment on their idea to arrange the marriage. That's not what I have in mind at all, rather it will naturally have them becoming an item without any one pushing it. They didn't send Soma to go there to marry Erina, rather it will work on their own terms. Like I can see Joichiro not seeing Erina and Soma being together coming. Ironic is the name of the game.

It's not that we're fixated on marriage, at least not all of us, I'm fixated on proper storytelling and the story's path has been made.
