I'm pretty sure that was Sai that confessed for him, Naruto himself never confessed, though after that movie Sakura's reaction makes no sense because she apparently always knew Naruto only saw her as a trophey.

I think Lee could have defeated Sasuke since he was half dead and was almost blind. Sakura brought a poison kunai and wanted to attack Sasuke with that its clear she didn't have a strategy. 

 

He was half-dead and almost blind, but Karin managed to heal up to a point where he was capable of holding his own against Kakashi in hand-to-hand. Part of that fight was off-screen and when the manga returned to it he was shooting an arrow at Kakashi using Susanoo. The only way I can see Lee winning is through a war of attrition while Sasuke's eyes deteriorate from overusage of his Mangekyou Sharingan. He would need to immediately use the celestial gates and maintain them while dodging Susanoo. Of course, his teammates aren't so fortunate. There's nothing that prevents Sasuke from burning them alive with a simple glance of Amaterasu. 

 

 

The thinking for Sakura was simple, get him to lower his gaurd under false pretense and then backstab, As for Sai, Kiba, and Lee I have no idea, all four of them together would struggle with just Sasuke, and as far as they knew at that point he still had his whole team with him, so they were taking a leaf out of Hinata's strategy for war and go kamikaze.

 

Lee would struggle as he does his best to carry Sakura and possibly one other member to safety while the fourth is killed. They're all dead weight to him since Susanoo's arsenal is much too lethal and quick on the draw for basic medical ninjutsu or sheer endurance that isn't the 3rd Raikage's to withstand.

The thing is I'd have no problem with the character if he was called a villain outright by the people that owned the property, and he was constantly used as such in the story. The fact that they try to make him a "hero" is one of the MAJOR problems with this story.

 

Having an understandable villain isn't a bad thing. Trying to make him into a "true hero" is. I'm so tired of hearing about how great and "deep" of a character he is. He never was great, he isn't a deep character, his motivations are shallow as hell, and his ideal of peace likely exist on the 7th layer of hell if the Divine Comedy is a divine warning written by human hands.

 

Sasuke's "fans" and Kishimoto really make me hate the character. How he was used in the end even makes it worse.

 

I used to think like that too, I really didn't liked Sasuke, still don't like him that much but...

In the end I could understand why he wanted to change the ninja system, it's after all a pretty f**cked up system. So even though his methods were clearly wrong I thought this goal of his was noble and better than his past goals and everything that Naruto ever came up with during the story to resolve this curse of hatred. In my opinion the ideal ending would be both of them Naruto and Sasuke, legacy of the Uchiha and Senju finally working together and reforming the ninja system with a more peaceful method.

 

I can understand though why some people like you think he needs to be punished  or at least be proper redeemed for his actions early in the story were he was absolutely ruthless in getting what he wanted since I thought like that once before

I swear never would early part 2 Sakura think of such a brainless idea like going alone to kill Sasuke or something like that.

 

And you really have a point Atheck, no matter if Sasuke was almost incapacited/ getting blind, he would still make some damage against Sakura's team, I mean Kakashi is just alive right now because of Kamui

Well it's not like Kishi built up any of the female cast in the power department besides Kaguya that can challenge anyone of MS Sasuke's calibre or higher. You could place Mei or Tsunade in Sakura's situation and both of them would lose just as well.

Well it's not like Kishi built up any of the female cast in the power department besides Kaguya that can challenge anyone of MS Sasuke's calibre or higher. You could place Mei or Tsunade in Sakura's situation and both of them would lose just as well. 

Probably, I have my doubts about Tusnade, I think she could actually beat him with a combination of her powers

 

But its a fact, Kishimoto just doesn't know how to develop female characters properly, actually scratch that he doesn't know how to develop any character at all. We all know what happened to Naruto's devellopment in the canon movie "the last"

As a kid I use to think Sasuke was the coolest thing in the world but then, I grew up and realized how much of an ass he was. This was also before I became NS.

I have a problem with the ending, I don't care about what happened in the story because it was still enjoyable whether it was bad or good, we could still look pass it since it kinda made sense but the ending destroyed at the very least a decent story for the sake of one character getting what she want and tossing others like they don't matter, all these pairing happen because Kishi thought of popularity only

Here's the main number-one problem with Sasuke Uchiha: contrary to popular belief, his overall worth as a character to the entire story is extremely miniscule at best. Let me explain.

Firstly, he is very one-dimensional and lives for only one purpose - to kill Itachi (he even said so himself). Now, people can make the argument that other characters like Rock Lee and Neji are one-dimensional as well because they too only strived for one purpose: to prove that someone can be a splendid ninja with taijutsu alone and to rebel against the idea of subservience. But this is where they're wrong: even though Lee and Neji's goals can be viewed as being straight-forward, the very essence of their objectives coincided with one of the overall themes of the story itself (perseverance). Sasuke's one goal, vengeance, does not coincide with any of the values that the manga tried to push. Basically, not only was Sasuke one-dimensional, but his only goal didn't contribute anything to push the story forward.

Secondly, Sasuke is very unoriginal. He is supposed to represent an "arch-Naruto" had Naruto internalized his pain of loneliness and festered it into hatred. The problem with this lies in the fact that it's already been done with Haku first, then Gaara (the best "arch-Naruto"), and lastly Obito. The other reason why he's unoriginal stems from his newly formed desire to destroy Konoha after Itachi's death. Again, we've seen other characters strive for the same thing: Orochimaru and Pain (who actually succeeded, thus making Sasuke's mission void of any validity). Once Itachi died, Sasuke's journey was over. He had no purpose left within the story. If I was Kishi, I would've had Sasuke die together with Itachi. But by forcibly extending his worth past it's expiration date, not only does the story suffer (repetition of generic goals), but other characters suffer as well (the return of Sakura's infatuation).
