I'd be really annoyed to have Karin die for SS to happen. I mean Neji dying was just a way to make a contrived NH scene happen.

Neji's death and Karin's death will be a parallel.
With her dying words after making Sakura promise her she will sleep with Sasuke, she will ask her to make sure their future daughter dresses and acts just like her. And so Salad becomes little Karin in her honor. SS cries and the rest of the fandom vomits. 
Kishimoto will be happy.
