That sketch looks so blunted and half-done compared to earlier efforts from Kishi. I wonder why that is. Has he lost enthusiasm for Pierrot's film? Could the reason be that Ino has a lack of significant screen time, ergo her character doesn't justify a complicated and detailed portrait?  Or does he just not have the time to give her a proper imaging?  Whatever the actual reason is, Ino is likely to be outshined by other characters. 

I don't like Ino's design at all. It's essentially her old outfit but with longer skirt. After Inoichi's death she was supposed to become the head of Yamanaka clan. Maybe even take on her father's job in the Intelligence squad.. So I expected her to have a brand new look. Guess I was wrong. :\

That's one of the most glaring flaws with Kishi's writing. He oversaturates the world with too many characters that he can't possibly give adequate screen time and exposition for in a compacted time frame - this, while overextending Naruto and Sasuke's limelight at the expense of even the inner circle of side characters. And it doesn't exclude the people with an established subplot, including those who are trying to succeed a predecessor at stake.

 

Sure, there might be a passing comment or a snippet showing Ino interrogating someone (more like probing their mind with her clan abilities), but we shouldn't expect too much coverage of the K9's daily lives. I'm not even expecting Kishi to prove satisfactorily that Ino, Hinata, or Lee have overtaken their teachers/parents in combat and skill set (Good luck to Lee especially since he's got some very big shoes to fill.). It's up in the air if Sakura will be given a golden moment in this movie to decisively prove her superiority over Tsunade (because there's almost no chance of her seeing combat again in the manga). 

 

No guarantees, but Kishi wouldn't have sketched Ino if she wasn't going to make an appearance at all in this movie. I'd be more concerned about Kankuro or Konohamaru showing up in the movie actually.

i agree , it looks like sakura , tenten and temari the only girls with new style , while hinata and ino not that much ,hinata even look the same she didn't change at all.

Yeah, pretty much.

It's such a waste really. Kishi has created so many awesome characters with huge potential & interesting backgrounds, but wasted so many panels on useless talk/Sasuke angst instead of giving those characters proper developments.. meh~

I guess we'll get more sketches in the upcoming weeks. We still haven't seen team taka's new designs.

I don't think she's of any threat for our ship.

She can have a big part in this movie.. well good for her. Maybe she'll finally have some proper development Kishi failed to provide her with in the manga. Her being among the main cast could also mean that we'll have a NH resolution. Maybe Naruto properly facing and rejecting her, since with only 3 chapters left Kishi can't possibly tackle this problem in the manga.

The more I look at Shino's sketches the more I'm falling for him.

 

He's the character (with Kiba) whose design improved the most from creepy bug guy to absolute badass pretty boy...

 

When you see the amazing job Kishi made with their designs (especially compared to Naruto's and Sasuke's ) it's difficult to believe it's the one team Kishi never gave a flying crap about.
