The interviewer : ” In the prologue, we can see that Hinata & Naruto have two kids. But when did you decide that Naruto & Hinata would be together ?”
Kishimoto : “Quite a long time ago, in fact. But I have to admit there was a time when we did thought about Sakura, you know. But if after all this time, she would just all of a sudden changed her heart for Naruto, this would make her kind of a terrible woman, right ?. And I think she’s wholeheartly devoted to Sasuke anyway. I’ll continue writing Naruto until this summer”
Making Sakura move on from a abusive relationship would make her a terrible person hahaha Pathetic
Do you know what would make Sakura a terrible person, Kishi? Her willing to abandon her family, friends and career to travel around the world with a guy that abuses her.

So it would be better to have the main character change his feelings and move on to a side character who has little to no interactions with him, then make Sakura lose whatever she felt for Naruto and then make Sasuke pull luv for her out of his a** at the last possible minute? Loool bye Kish

This interview leads me to believe that Kishimoto doesn't know what character development is or its purpose in stories. He should fire himself.
It is amazing that such a thing can be said with a straight face given that Naruto moved on.
I hear that, Nate. I've read a lot of fiction in my time, but Kishimoto-sensei trying to justify what he did in the ending, as well as forgetting core principles of being a writer REALLY is a dumb move since it just shows he's basically hurting his career other than those who just are all "Oh, you should accept it, you should trust in him" blah blah blah!! =_= Seriously, I knew this movie was gonna break me, but this interview is too! Someone, I need a hug!

Yeah. That's just prove that my favorite series is now the worse series of all time. Thank you, Masashi Kishimoto. You ruined your star character and his love interest because you could not be consistent in your writing. All for a minor character, the rival, money and popularity.
And your own twin brother write better than this (Blazer Drive has an open ending that was rushed, but acceptable.)
What's Happening with the Naruto series as of now!

Personally, the interview makes me smile. He's even worse than I, one of the loudest detractors, even thought possible.
If this is spin, they're dishonest. If not, then he never really knew what he was doing. It's getting so bad that I even wonder if head read what he wrote. It's hard to argue that he did.
This is the most spectacular artistic / PR / justification train wreck I've ever witnessed.
No matter how Kishimoto tries to spin this it's a failure. He should really stop talking since everything he says just makes it worse, but at the same time it's fascinating to see if he can manage to sink any lower.
I made the mistake of believing -- and defending -- the notion that Kishimoto had poured so much of himself into the story that he had to care about it. I stand corrected.

I think this interview solidifies the fact that Hinata was a consolation prize
He couldn't Get Sakura, so Hinata was the next best thing.
Pls shame me for procrastinating.

HA!!! A terrible woman if she left the guy who's tried to kill her and mentally abused her. Okay

kittening lol'd.
Yeah, NaruSaku was there people. Keep shipping this pairing. He was on a fence about kittening on both SS and NH and much of our logic was sane and rational.
It's just that Kishimoto is a terrible writer. No other mangaka would choose those pairings.

Yes, in fact, I can't believe the marketing department doesn't have him tied up in a back room somewhere until the movie comes out.
WHY alienate half of your fan base? Why? Why not leave some suspense about the movie? Why not say the positive about Sakura and why she should be with Sasuke (even if its total BS), so that Sakura fans will still want to see the movie?
This all makes no sense to me.
edit: Witnessing the end of Naruto as we knew it is like watching a slow motion explosion. It just keeps going. Whatever comes out in the movie will be only second to this craptastic interview.

I will say why not leave some neutral NS fans go to see the movie?

Probably because he learned from his mistakes. I'd say congratulations Seishi. I'm proud for you not becoming the dipkitten writer your brother turned out to be.

I figured it was more like a slow-motion crash, Tricksie, but I guess that'll work just as well. In my cause, I know Naruto had a kitten ending, but I'm gonna remember the good it was as I work on my AU, as well as thinking of the fact to ME, it ended with 698 because I refuse to accept 699 and 700, since Kishimoto-sensei is obviously talking out of his butt right now, rather than doing the story he KNOWS should have been done...

Wow. I just Knowing it is one thing, hearing it from Kishi himself is another. And the way he words it. Good God.
I would like to know when was that "quite a long time ago". Was it before Sakura's confession to Naruto, or was it after the bad reception it got? I think that's the only thing I want to know, now.

Persona 5 hype
Posted 20 November 2014 - 05:16 PM
The fans that were pairing (NH/SS) got what they want and don't care how much it sucks. All that mattered is that they "won." If this victory they can keep it.
The evidence suggests that the vocal NH/SS fans are responsible for forcing this rickety train off the rails in the first place. I'm not sure what part of that truth sickens me the most -- the reality that such loud, senseless voices exist, or that they have that much power.
NH and SS were both very poor relationships, in terms of how they were written and what they represented in terms of character growth. What does it say about people -- about human society -- if such sickening relationships are cheered into existence at the cost of logic and artistic integrity, and so many people are happy about it...?
It's really depressing when you think about it.
