And the Ryu x Tamao implications post time-skip and onwards are something that took me completely by surprise. But I support it.

Oh yeah it was there lol. Poor Ryu, I wanted him to find love after everything he had been through. Although I guess that is mainly because I remember him being pretty exclusively romance hungry in the anime.

Yeah, he wasn't *as* obsessed about romance as he was in the anime, but he still wanted a good woman at his side and finally found her in Tamao(now if he'd only do something about it).

I started to read One Punch Man more seriously, and I would like to see Saitama and Tatsumaki together at the end.

Tamao also is unrequited too. They could be a perfect match since she once went on a a rampage through the streets if I remember correctly

Aaand I'm dropping Devil is a Part-Timer!? because of that kitten ending.   I cannot believe that Wagahara put so much time and effort in developing Emi and Sadao's relationship - including raising a child together - for over 20 volumes and he puts her with an immature, static, obsessive, top-heavy ditz who has a nervous breakdown whenever the mere idea that other women were interested in Sadao came to mind (and seriously, she legitimately had an actual psychotic break in the novels when she found out one of her friends liked Sadao, and it wasn't meant to be comical) and whom he barely saw as more than a friend and didn't give an indication that his feelings for her were anything but platonic before this damn book. And this is also the same girl within this final volume that said that she would've been fine being in a harem with him.

This isn't like Kishimoto, who was pressured into his final decision by editors and assumed that Hinata was what the majority of fans wanted because he took one Youtuber's voice as the consensus;  Emi does not have a divided fanbase among the Western and Eastern audiences, and that's being demonstrated rather clearly on Tumblr, (En)(JP)Twitter and (JP)Amazon right now since both the author and this book are being bombarded with negative review, comments, and even death threats (the latter of which I don't condone) over what happens to her in the ending.  No, this is the author giving the middle-finger to his readership and thinks he's being au vant garde by casting aside all of that character and story development(and I am not exaggerating because the characters are all acting wildly OOC in this book and the final battle is not even worth a 'meh') to subvert reader expectation and give the heroine of the series the shaft for his big-boobed bimbo, who isn't even going to be first place in her husbando's heart since he's already dating someone else.  I haven't felt this livid and betrayed over a series for a long time. Not even Naruto and Bleach pissed me off this much. What rubs the salt in the wound even harder is that literally every character in this series got a happy resolution in the end BUT Emi. She isn't even mentioned at the end of the story.

Well, at least Aggretsuko has Haida and Retsuko finally going the right direction with their relationship in Season 3.  That honestly makes up for the disappointment of Mao x Emi.

Hmm not sure if I ever mentioned this one but uh, htere is an anime coming up called Fly me To the Moon ( I believe in Japanese it is called Tonikaku Kawaii) by Kenjiro Hata, the creator of Hayate the Combat Butler and I am LOVING the main couple in it! They are so cute and full of fluff   if you're a fan of innocent cohabiting romance manga like me I definitely recommend it

Catching up with Jujutsu Kaisen,  I am a tentative supporter of Yuji x Nobara.  Their dynamic have some interesting parallels with Naruto and Sakura and Yuji has hinted interest in Nobara, but it's hard to tell if Nobara reciprocates.  She did get pissed at the thought of him getting a girlfriend and even thought that "he should be after me!" when she tried to hook him up with another girl that was interested in him, then she seemingly tried to cover it up by saying that she was angry at  him getting a girlfriend before she got a boyfriend, but Megumi didn't seem buy it.  It's hard to say if they'll be a thing or not but hopefully, the next chapter will answer that.

Beet x Poala from Beet the Vandel Buster

 

Beet and Poala are not only near-mirrors of Naruto and Sakura in terms of personality and relationship, but literally every character supports their pairing. Poala is even referred to as "Beat's Future Wife" among their inner circle of friends/teammates. Poala's probably one of my favorite shonen manga heroines because she's incredibly tough, intellient and resourceful.  Her development as a character is also in lockstep with Beet, so while she's not as powerful as him, she's keeping up.
