While I never watch it, many said It's horrible adaptation.
I think I can understand why.

I never play vn and most my knowledge come from type moon wiki, but I could appreciate great series from that alone.

--The problem is that you can't really grasp the whole bigger picture with only zero, that's what I meant. The grail wasn't meant to be corrupt, never was. Otherwise why would a bunch people fight for it in what was supposed to be a 4th war ( meaning there were 3 wars before this one) ? If the grail was corrupt since the beginning wouldn't it make sense for someone  ( mainly from the main families: Matou, Tohsaka or Einzbern) to do something about it? Could something have happenened in these past wars to make the grail like this *hint hint* ? Futhermore is the nature of the grail really "make any wish you want come true", or is there some deeper meaning behind it?

 

 

All of this is essentially only hinted throughout F/Zero and never further expanded, IMO a good standalone should be able to close it's main plot points in it's own story

 

If we go by your interpretation of the grail using only Fate/Zero we will only meet more plot holes, like for example: 

"The grail is corrupted right? So why are they fighting for it in a 4th war in the first place?"

" Why the hell did the grail explode?"

" Where did this Angra Manyu came from, such an asspull..."

 

I actually saw a F/Z only watcher asking these on a forum

 

In other words: It's impossible to fully characterize and understand the grail with F/Z alone, futhermore if it only existed F/Z there would be a lot of fan theories on the matter but we would never get an answer because F/Z would be a standalone

 

I'm going to stop reading here for now, because I can't mentally bear seeing you continue to miss the point of what I'm saying even more than you already have, and I can't further realize that all that I've typed out and repeated myself over and over to make as clear as I possibly could has barely even registered.

 

Maybe I'll come back and read the rest of your post after some time has passed. For now, I need to mentally disengage and calm down. I learned something and benefited from this discussion at least, which is good, I guess. Not the one about Fate/Zero, the one about Archer.

You have a point about DEEN fate though, as it's own series (not counting as an adaptation) it's quite fine

My argument is that F/Z doesnt actually goes in depth on what the grail really is, there is no problemas with this because it's a prequela bit if it was a standalone it would generate a lot of questions about how it works,etc...for example with your f/z can you answer why the grail exploded?
Questions line this would eventually lead to fans calling it "asspull" or D.E. Machina" :/

I get it
But that's kinda my point, a lot of characters in F/Z just get their  "true closure" in F/SN, I think Waver is one of the exceptions

I knew what was supposed to be coming in this episode, and was very pleasantly surprised. The memory swap they did was easily one of the best scenes in the show, probably the absolute best. I wish it lasted even longer, to be honest, to really solidify the atmosphere and impact. The soundtrack really sold it; it was gorgeous. The most passionate moment of the series, bar none, from both a creative standpoint and the characters' standpoint This episode also easily had the best score of the entire show. I wish it was always this good.
