For those who wonder, this is a part from my story. I had most of of NS moment from Naruto and Sakura POV. I didn't even begin with parallel and character like Kakashi saying she move on from Sasuke.  I show at the same time in this scenario why NH and SS doesn't make sense. By writing this, I really believe he did sell out, but it help me get at least and certain feeling of closure from a pairing perspective.

Ah a thought!

Imagine Bolt turning evil because Naruto is such a sh*tty parent.

He's burning down Konoha and as Naruto stares at him with tears running down his face, Hinata lying dead at his feet and Himawari so mentally broken she's just sitting next to him catatonic. Naruto only asks 'why?' (because he obviously lost his empathetic ability.)

Bolt turns toward him, blood is splattered on his clothes and skin and he smiles the biggest, kitten-eating grin ever and says,

"Will you clean Hokage Mountain with me now dad?"

This will happen if Naruto doesn't clean up his act. The cycle of hate children growing up to cause genocide will continue as Bolt becomes increasingly bitter that the 'hero' who preaches love and peace can not love his own family and spend time with them in peace.

Would be awfully dramatic no? Too bad it works only as a backstory.

Not impossible, Laylo, considering how Bolt resents Naruto right now, and at times, the sins and mistakes of the parents will come to haunt them through their children. I'm trying to think of any other series that has done on both sides of the ocean.

Orihime should not be compared to Hinata. Orihime is too great for that.

Me, too. I absolutely hate it when people compare Orihime to Hinata :wallbash:

I shipped Ichi/Rukia for a long time (and UlqiHime briefly), but I accepted the way the story was heading and now even expect IchiHime to eventually win in the end.  I'm glad Orihime has gotten a ton of development over the course of the series.  Her admiration for Ichigo isn't something that limits her character.  It expands it.  I'm okay with that.

If Hinata had gotten even half the page time that Orihime did, I don't think we'd be quite as stunned by the sudden appearance of NH.

I'm glad I like both IchiHime and IchiRuki... if either of those pairings are canonized I'll be pretty happy.

Orihime should not be compared to Hinata. Orihime is too great for that.

Like the creator of that work, I agree the only similarity of that is the number of times they say their respective characters name.  That art merely capitalizes on that for humorous affect, not that they are the same character as Rukia and Sakura are not the same character.  Orihime is a well developed character in Bleach that doesn't revolve around the object of her affection.  The difference is as clear as day.

I'm glad folks here can appreciate Orihime. I like her more than Rukia but thay doesn't mean I don't like Rukia. I feel like Orihime is an awesome female character and she's constantly striving to do well. She has great relations outside of Ichigo and her kickass moments trumps Hinata's IMO. Their characters aren't comparable at all. Orihime isn't a stalker and she actually has influenced Ichigo THROUGHOUT the story unlike Hinata. Kubo easily trumps Kishi when it comes to females and possible relationships. IR and IH both work well and I'd be fine with either.

When I went to visit my cousin I told him about the ending and even though he hasn't kept up with the manga or anime for 3 years, he knew that Naruto love Sakura and believed the hero would wind up with her. He read the last 20 chapters and I vividly remember him muttering when he caught up to the last two "No, this is all wrong! This is so sad, he lost?!"

He knew that Hinata loves Naruto but as he put it, "This isn't the hero winning. She's not a bad choice but he loves Sakura! What happened? Sasuke loving Sakura made no sense, Sakura makes no sense--I thought she was falling for Naruto? He lost? He had no choice but to love Hinata now. This sucks, he lost"

This how he will remember it.

I wouldn't say Orihime is well developed per say, but she's had more involvement with the plot then Hinata. They really only share the "love the main character" and "breast" factors. Orihime actually has won some battles (more early then late, but still victories) and has involved herself with other characters.

When it came to Naruto, I didn't really think Sakura's and the other girls lack of involvement was an issue of Kishimoto having a bad opinion about them... I just figured because this was a "Shonen" directed towards the male audience, it was using the DBZ route where the guys had more focus then the few girls that appeared. Of coarse Naruto's ending happened and then Kishi's statements got involved and I suddenly realized this guy is terrible with women, made worst by the "Shojo" ending.

Ehhh - they might have the same characteristics in some way, but Orihime has relevance and Hinata not.

You can't compare them so easily.

(Still, I laughed xD)

"We live in a world that is so quick to convince us to ignore our feelings. Feeling stressed? Get a massage. Feeling angry? Go to the bar with your friends and blow off steam. Feeling lonely? Meet someone in cyberspace and have a conversation on the computer. Depressed? Take a pill. Anxiety? Take 2 pills. Feeling happy? Well, by George, don’t talk about that because no one likes a bragger. Same with being sad, no one likes a Debbie Downer. But, heaven FORBID, that you actually TALK about your feelings and process them in a healthy way."

Orihime is funny. Orihime is quirky. She's weird, bubbly, humorous, sweet and dorky. She has many facets, and we know them, from her love for strange (and admittedly disgusting) food to the love she has for her friends and her late brother. The only thing she has in common with the Boob-hime are, of course, her boobies (which are quite common in manga) and the penchant for calling the boy she likes with the suffix -kun (and that is also extremely common in Japan).

Imo, comparing them is comparing a bubbly, sunny, quirky, silly girl whose character quite successfully balances the roles of comic relief and seriousness (with a pinch tragedy) with an underdeveloped, selfish, unidimensional pseudo-moe secondary character who contributed to the ruination of the manga she was part of.  :argh:

Poor Orihime, people should cut her some slack! (I still don't understand why that many people seem to dislike her)  :umm:

Still, being compared to Hinata-sama-hime-goddes-whatever is an insult to her character.
