Really? Not that I'm complaining or anything, but how many translations of that interview are there now?

I thought the translation was "Naruto is close and she cares for him as well but still... Sasuke", with the empty part before Sasuke implying love.

Chatte did your friend do a literal translation or what she thought the translation implied. I only ask because sometimes japanese can't be accurately translated into english so translating something literally can give a different meaning. It could very well be that my translation is the literal one but the correct meaning is what your friend told you. I don't really know for sure.

So, basically, what she translated you could say it's the most accurate thing. What it literally meant, not implied.
I always double-asks her if things are really like that because I know how skeptical people are.

When sakura hugs sasuke like this in part 1 it makes my heart sink... poor Naruto..

Well, whats funny is that in the anime the way they made the hug thats sakura gave sasuke in this image is romantic, like shes squeezing herself on him, but in the manga, shes not so close to sasuke, she has her arms wrapped on hes chest but her chest isn't squished into sasukes back and her face isn't resting on sasukes back either, I know these are minor differences but they makw a big difference.

And about the inerview, yes kishi indeed doesn't directly say love in it, on the contrary all he says is "naruto is close and she still cares for him but still..sasuke" this one sounds legit, but I dont think thr one I was talking about before was right or yhe one darkrerst was talking about either, or this one "she says she loves sasuke but naruto is close to her heart" I don think this is correct either, cuz sakura never said she loves sasuke.

This translations is also wrong since there's no verb on it either.

She did say back in part 1. Maybe that was the trick here.
As for the translation, I trust my friend for translating it good, as I said.
But meh, to each his own.

That's why I felt the translation my friend did, fits better.
Why? Because "Naruto is close to her heart" equals to what Kishi said about an honest girl with a surprisingly stubborn impression and that part with she says she loves Sasuke would be the referral at Sakura's confusion of her feelings.
In other words, Kishi saying, but not telling the outcome of this that actually she thinks she loves Sasuke but, as Yamato said, in reality, she loves Naruto.
Dunno if it made a lot of sense, it's a bit hard to explain.

There's also another version of the interview where Kishi says "loved" in past sense with Sakura loving Sasuke I don't know if that's the correct version.

That is true though we did get those parallel. Nevertheless, I know what you mean. It doesn't help that the flashback is currently ongoing. I wonder why Kishi is doing this now. Then again, maybe it does serve a break time. Unless, there's something behind this, but we'll see.

those mistranslations is what makes things worse in this fandom.
The best example is how people still say that Kishi said that Hinata would be a better heroine than Sakura even after it has already been proven wrong.
