Well he did need to establish a reason to save Sasuke, so yeah, don't shoot it down. Make it glamorous. The argument that Sasuke is his first bond is flawed if you think about it. Technically, Iruka was his first bond ever. Sasuke isn't even second, because Naruto established a bond with Konohamaru second. If you be more specific, Sasuke was his "first bond with someone close to his age", and even then, Sasuke was not the only one, because Sakura was a part of team 7 too, and they all got to know each other because they were part of the same team.

Sasuke and Naruto's bond was never even that strong contrary to Kishi's dogma. Intense yes. But a strong friendship? Hell no.The argument that Sasuke is his first bond is flawed if you think about it.
They never even really hung out as kids except glaring and fighting with eachother in the Academy. Even in Team 7 they constantly fought and argued. Yes they would've died for eachother but that was more out of a comrade code than actual love for eachother (at least on Sasuke's part).
At the end of part 1 the bond was already F-ed up with Sasuke trying to kill Naruto for the MS. "It's BECAUSE I care for you that I have to kill you..." So twisted lol.
IMO they're one of the worst best friend troupes I've ever seen and Naruto's obsession with Sasuke honestly wasn't justified.

Damn straight. Those of us who have REALLY questioned his actions of late, we can tell it's likely he caved into popular demand rather than to just do what he was showing.
There's a fitting trope for this BS that a friend of mine named Erin did when she ranted on why Sorato in Digimon Adventure 02 doesn't work, shouldn't have happened, and was bad, clumsy writing, which fits so well into this scenario with NaruHina right now; http://tvtropes.org/...dByTheRedString
She also had it best for that same topic which can apply to the ending of Naruto with sudden NaruHina and SasuSaku. Hang on, lemme post what she said on that kind of thing.
There is a saying that goes, "Show, Don't Tell" and "Actions Speak Louder Than Words"...Sorato did neither of these things. Just a couple they threw in our faces and expected us to take it at face value, when they had nothing to show for it to the audience that we should take this couple seriously. You can't just throw people together and ASSUME everyone will agree with it. For ANY relationship to be believed by an audience of your story (and I mean any relationship-not just the romantic ones), you have to show the characters interacting together-showing them grow together, showing them be influenced by each other, positive or negative. With Sorato...we pretty much got neither...just two random names they pulled out of a hat and decided to make them an endgame despite the fact they barely interacted, grown together or influenced each other.
Just replace Sorato with NaruHina, and there ya go! In all honesty, that's what it feels like Kishimoto-sensei did with so many of the couples in the end of the manga, which is why several of us are mad besides how it feels like he just took a dump on all the development he spent 15 years working on for everyone just to say "kitten it, I'm done!" or something like that.
At least they added SasuSaku in that trope, though NaruHina should have been added as well
Your wish has been heard loud and clear!

May our fates intertwine!

Along with all the end game couples, especially some of the ones with NO interactions like Choji and Karui or Kiba and Tamaki.

Lol, they put Ss in there, though rightfully so. There is just no way to justify that pairing happening, beside Kishi doing it for money. That's it, he needs his spin off and he decided to screw everyone over to get it. Gosh, I really can't stand this man right now.
He's mine, don't touch.

SasuSaku is honestly one of the sickest anime couples I've ever seen...next to Light/Misa from DN of course lol.
I hate when heroine/rival pairings actually become canon. It's just not right.

When a gag manga understands Kishimoto's story better than Kishimoto.

At I least I can stomach Sorato. Matt never tried to kill Sora or called her weak or useless.

The difference from Light/Misa to Sasusaku is that the first Pairing "exists" in a Show where everything and everyone is more or less mentally disturbed.
Mentally disturbed Show = Mentally disturbed couple. It fits, even if it is sick.
But a couple like Sasusaku in a Show like Naruto makes no sense ...

To be honest....Its really wrong to expect any ship to be canon in Pokemon. But if anything.... Ash x Serena is a bit different from other ships since Serena has a canonical crush on Ash and.....there seriously have been moments...from both the sides. Ash is obviously oblivious to her feelings...but...there are moments from his side as well. Misty was never confirmed to have a crush on Ash.So Ash x Misty also sunk ... my very first ship ... I'm dead now. Really.
Anyway, not to expect too much from the series but....Ash x Serena indeed have their moments and wonderful development...
