Im going to wait and see with lostplanet 2. Reviews arent too kind so far, I though the co-op demo was decent, but the multiplayer sucked.

You can send it back to sony if they can give you a new one but that won't help you with your saved data. The other way is send it to someone who knows how to fix these kinds of things just pray that the mother board isn't damage or is goodbye saved data and PS3 that's what happened to my 360 and it died.

I dunno, I played the multiplayer beta a while ago, had a lot of fun killing giant monsters with my friends online. Also had a lot of fun hogging the VS Suit Gatling gun for MORE DAKKA!!! And yeah, the data in my HDD is my main concern, after that, I'd either get a new PS3 or send it in to Sony, (potentially getting my HDD wiped), or to someone else to get it fixed (also potentially getting my HDD wiped) and when I get it back, I can put all my data back into Ol' Sixty again....

@Gravenimage. Oh dear god, thanks for alleviating my fears that you were going to start some kind of fanboyism... The Game Gods know I've had enough of "Get a 360" crap in school....

Don't worry dude I couldn't buy a PS 3 because I couldn't afford it so I went with the 360 it's good but I won't rub it in your face. I want to ask you is your PS3 showing an error message?

Sounds more like the yellow light but okay. There are videos on youtube about fixing it yourself but its a risk. Don't send it into sony, they will whipe everything off of the HDD most likely. As I said try to find somebody, or a shop that can take your hard disk and moves the files onto a PC and then a USB device or even onto a new hard drive.

I can tell you your PS3 is experiencing a serious problem in my case my 360 got the mother board damaged and it started showing a blinking red light showing me an error message in all kinds of languages its related to your PS3. The caused of my 360 dying was because of low voltage and blackouts at my house.

I suggest that you go to a site and verify all kinds of problems PS3 consoles have so you can check the red blinking light problem. You can type in a search bar in yahoo or google.

Shadow, I'm not sure if they are still doing it, but GameStop were giving out beta keys with preorders of StarCraft 2. Normally i'd hate that, but since I'll be getting it anyway, I preordered and that's how I got my key.

As for your PS3, I'd imagine It's probably dead. I assume it's out of warranty? either way, call up Sony and see if they know about this problem. I'm not sure if its the same in the USA, but in Australia, Sony charges a crapload to repair PS3's, so if its dead, it will be better to buy a new one. I suggest doing what Mik3 said and asking if Best Buy can back up your data or something.

Anyway, who here is getting Red Dead Redemption? That is a game I really can't wait for, looks like epic fun, and since it's made by Rockstar, it will clearly be awesome

Well, I just want to try it out, I don't really game on my laptop much, so yeah. Hrm, about that Best Buy thing, I think I'll try that first.... But apparently, some games are locked on to my PS3, so I don't know if we should get a new one. That's the other major problem.....

PS3 has a high percentage of getting damage and malfunctioning compare to the 360 however Wii is the console with the lowest percentage of damages according to a poll from game informer.

I guess you've never heard of the Red Ring of Death. I admit as a 360 owner i've had to take mine back for repair before while my PS3 *knock on wood* has stayed strong.

Nah, Ubisoft has never let me down with a game yet. So I trust them with multiplayer in this... hey, running around as Assassin's with a few buddies seems interesting. Group kills

Plus, I think Ezio's a bit more interesting than Altair for me at least. I enjoyed it more than ACI.... Still, I wouldn't mind it if they actually worked on multiplayer so it doesn't feel tacked on, Ubisoft, don't disappoint me.
