Well, I'm sure that Naruto will teach Sasuke what it really takes to be Hokage.

Sasuke was rather self-centered when he said he didn't care what others thought. If you can't listen to or sympathise with the people you're meant to lead, how can you be a great and respected leader?

Naruto and Sakura have both grown so much ever since they first became genin. They were both bratty, but they have both matured and forged strength out of kindness within themselves. Naruto is the hero of the village, and he cares so much about other shinobi, no matter where they came from. Sakura has become a hell of a woman, and is well on her way to making her own page(s) in Konoha's history, and she has become a powerful support for Naruto as well.

I get all misty-eyed thinking about everything they've been through and how far they've come...

Sasuke has certainly learnt many things, and he does seem to have finally turned his back on his self-destructive path of revenge. But he still lacks empathy/humility, and he has to learn you cannot simply seize whatever you want. He does care a little at least (see his sincere apology to Karin).

I'm really looking forward to the Team 7 fight against the Juubi, and I can't wait for further developments. Now that they are all together, hopefully we will have closure on at least some of the issues surrounding them.

Also, I'm not going to expect it to happen, but it would be awesome if Naruto and Sakura were so in sync during the fight that they earned the nickname "Heaven and Earth".

I love my Sauce, but someone does need to smack him, but not just for Naruto, but for the grief he's caused everyone who cared about him. I am glad Kishi chose not to have everything just be forgiven and forgotten just like that, especially with how quick the chapter went, and I'll trust Kishi will handle this situation well.

I agree, and I also hope Kishi handles it well, but even then I'm still pretty disappointed because I felt that Sasuke's heel face turn was way too fast.

OK guys, so I wanted to share this before forgetting it.

I remember someone saying that part of the reason as to why Naruto answered "Yes" to his father and Sakura not denying it could be because he might have talked about it off panel or something. So my question is: is it possible that they did touch the subject when his clone saved her and Shizune? I mean, we were seeing his speech to Hinata at this time, but isn't it possible that the same happened with Sakura? Plus, considering how their conversation went when she confessed to him, Naruto might have actually thought a bit about this before stating his answer (which would explain his "Ummm... Uhm?". Actually, I think the "Uhm?" is as if he was realizing something) I'm going to re-read that chapter after posting this, but I wanted to know what you guys think.

EDIT: OK, so I went ahead and re-read the chapter. It seems that there was a short time period between the rescue in chapter 558 and the scene in chapter 559 where it is mentioned that the medic unit has successfully taken down the enemy (noticeable because in the latter, Sakura doesn't have her medic coat and I believe they are outside the medic tent). IMO, there was a small window, but I want to know what you guys think.

Yeah, I remember your words and I agree with you here. My question was more about if they did have a chance to at least talk about it once (and bi "it" I mean that they may have "planned to talk about it after the war"). Plus, isn't it typical for Tsunderes to keep these things a secret at first (The confession is not a secret, that's for sure, but what if Naruto perceived Sakura's changing feeling just like he perceived Hinata's lack of self-confidence? If so, then maybe this would've prompted a small talk between them during this small portion of the war, don't you think)?

Anyway, this is just a theory, so if its true or not, it will not affect what was said in this chapter. I was just wondering if there was indeed, a small chance for them to mention the topic. And if it did happen, then that could give an alternate explanation to Sakura's response in this chapter.

About the bolded part: yeah.. that might be the case. Naruto's good at this.
At any rate, I wanna see NS development on-panel.. black ink on white paper, so one one would doubt, plus NS deserves a proper on-panel resolution.

This is the usual reaction from a tsundere when she's embarrassed about something that is implicated in her hidden feelings for the male protagonist. She will get angry in a comical way and deny it, however Sakura was an exception because she didn't yell at him denying Naruto's answer. She has already softened up to him enough and she's already in love with him.

Considering that I'm just looking for a reason, you can be sure that I agree with you. She didn't deny it, that's for sure. My point is that she did deny it before, but not now (in fact, considering that after the headbutt she shifted the topic, it indicates a sign of "evading the topic", which is common among Tsundere characters whenever they have feelings for someone). The question is: why?

That's the purpose of my theory, to look for an answer to this. I'm just taking an alternate approach to why would she not deny this.

A good theory but honestly it seems that any changes to the relationship statuses are handled on screen. What I think is that it was a trigger to push Sakura in acting Kushina-like. The mastermind was ofc Kishi not Naruto. Considering what Chatte said it means he accepted the confession and sees her as his girlfriend. But knows it's complicated.

I honestly saw the whole GF talk as nothing more than a confirmation of narutos feelings and a bridge for minatos parallel confirmation.

I could take your first point (italic) into consideration if they were talking to the rest of K11. However, they're actually talking to Minato. He doesn't know what has happened in the past. He's just asking about what he is seeing now? We know that this kind of situation has happened before (Konohamaru... Sai...) and in both occasions, she (or both) denied the asusmptions. This time, however, none of them answered negatively to the question. Your second point could also be a possibility, but again, I'm not sure if Sakura could see herself like that unless there was something to back up this statement.

Anyway, your final point confirms to me that you see it in simple terms. That's good, but to speak about this theory, I'm actually considering Sakura's words and of course, her reaction. So I believe that in the end, we will have to "agree to disagree".
