Agree. I really thought he was going to die (especially after all the flashbacks) it would have been perfect ....Then....Naruto came, and saved him.... I think...I don't really remember (that was when Naruto could create eyes from nothing but couldn't fix a leg..right?) 

But since he kept him alive, why put him on a wheelchair...it was kind of ...illogical, imo.

But Kishi likes to ruin everything so....

So the mini series has been official announced/dated. Well it's going to have some success because it's going to be sold with the "Naruto" name attached to it. But it's not going to be a great success for them.

The only reason why Gai didn't die was because Neji already did. I knew Kishi would never kill two members of the same team in such a close proximity of time.

 

Neji should have lived, Gai should have died, and Bolt should have never existed.

Which is such a stupid approach. There are virtually no meaningful deaths. Ok, Asuma dies. And Shikamaru and Ino's dads both die, don't they? But, did any reader have THAT much of a connection with them? No, the only real death is Neji. Moreover, no one has to deal with consequences. Kill the Hokage and his wife? The coolest guy! Abandon your village, try to kill your teammates, threaten to kill the hokage? Take me Sasuke-kuuuuunnnnnnn! 

What garbage. Actions have consequences. It would be nice to actually SEE that instead of this mystical "everyone is forgiven" nonsense.

neji had to die for nh, gai had to live because wheelchair gai is cool, and bolt needs to exist for part 3.

From 2ch manga forums, it's been stated that in the next Weekly Shonen Jump issue (#18) which will be released unofficially this Thursday that it has a preview for issue #22-23 which will be released in the Golden Week (Last week of April) that Naruto Gaiden (ナルト外伝) series will have a lead colour and cover in that issue.

I absolutely love Wendy. Not to mention the entire female cast is kickass in FMAB. I'm still watching the anime, but Oliva Armstrong... Damn. Scary as hell. Hiromu Arakawa is prob the only female shounen mangaka I know, next to Shinobu Ohtaka, and Rumiko Takahashi.

 

Another female shounen mangaka to add to the list would be Mochizuki Jun. Oh, and Yellow Tanabe. What series' did Rumiko Takahashi and Shinobu Ohtaka write? I'm not familiar with them.

You're much braver than me.  I can only take so much before I feel like I want to bash my head against a wall. Reading anything more to do with Naruto would definitely fall under the 'more than I can take' category.

 

 

In terms of females, it was when NaruSasu got a power up, that I was 99% sure females would always play 3rd rate to males. In every team, the female was always the weakest and I was hoping for that to change. But nope, in this series, it's a crime for a female to be equal to the male counterparts.

This. That was the moment I lost any and all faith that Kishimoto would ever give the female characters equal treatment to the males. And the real salt on the wound was that those ridiculous power-ups came almost right after Sakura had gone on about wanting to catch up to her teammates and stand beside them. It was like Kishimoto's way of saying, "Nope, never gonna happen."
