And the fact that Slam dunk is pretty old compared to Kuroko no basket.......... But seriously though, Slam dunk is on a whole other level as far as Basketball mangas are concerned.

Yep. One of my all time favorites with a beautiful ending. Slam Dunk was a whole other level, as you've said.

You can empathize with the characters and they are true to themselves until the end. The best part was, at the end of the journey, you can look back and smile contently. A nice touch for younger audience who are looking for a series about bonds, team work and guts to never give up. Highly recommended!

See, it's that kind of bull that pisses me off, guys. =/ He expects us to be happy but he's the one who screwed the pooch by flipping off ALL fandoms, except for the extremists who are just happy their pairing happened and didn't care about the story or the characters themselves.

Actually, it has been the new direction since November last year. Or even much earlier than that when The Last was in pre-production.

After all, the author himself was the one saying that we're the red herring.

That's why the new movie due in August plays a pivotal role. And many people placed a huge bet on it. Kishi said that it will be his last activities for Naruto franchise. He even said it's his masterpiece. The studio is willing to invest 2 million copies of colored manga as a promo.

The Last didn't even have such marketing promotions.

If the new movie succeed and surpasses The Last, this sort of trend in storytelling will dominate manga/anime industry in the next 5-10 years. The Naruto anime will be milked over and over again in the next couple of years. It will be the de facto standard of success, as viewed by animation studio and the publishers. It will also proof the claims that NS fandom is small, and the anti groups are not the general audience financing the series. It will also proof that Kishi and studio has made the right decision, and you'll see that the franchise will be alive in the next 5 years or so with the new era...

However, if the new movie fails, Kishi will lost his face even more than now --after he claimed that this is his masterpiece. The Naruto franchise will demise within a year or so. Bolt will not get his animated series. And it will proof the claims that NS and the anti fandoms were the ones financing the series in the past 15 years to be 100% accurate. Those rumors about no refund for the last and people upset for misleading advertisements will be proven to be correct. It will also proof that Kishi and the studio has made a huge mistake, which costs their fortune, just for the sake of people who never spend a dime on the franchise and read the manga freely from the internet.

Facts and numbers speak louder than words. And these proof, whether it the new era will succeed or not, will make a closure for the most of us in NS fandom. To know for sure we were the right one or the wrong one will serve as the final 'bonds' we have for this series...

Even if they somehow succeed with Boruto, it won't really bother me, the series is still trash for a lot of people and will never unleash it's full potential, Naruto could've be a legend next to DB. OP and other legendary shonen series, now the best thing it can achieve is to ramain a little below Bleach's level

If the bolded part come true, then to me that is the end of humanity, doomsday ... judgement day, or whatever you may called it. Everything swaps, bad becomes good and good becomes bad, killing is good deed and helping is crime, lies become truth and truth become lies, NS and its 698 chapter of development is red herring while NH and SS with 2 movie, 10 gaiden chapter, bunch of novels and new era project is the cannon and real one.

 

If thats not the end of humanity then what do you called it?, Imagine you lived in the world like that ... you donate your money to hospital and poor community and suddenly police put you in jail because of it, and you see someone burn that hospital and killing all people inside it and that person got noble prize and become a hero.

 

Isn't that the same with what happen to naruto manga now? NS red herring, NH and SS real cannon.

 

Edit : Instead of develop the lack development pairing with a convincing way, they use some kind of "TRANSITION". Its like in harry potter movie, its obvious that voldemorth has return but the stupid ministry of magic used its power of daily prophet to spread lies that harry is a liar.

They transfrom lies into truth and truth becomes lies. Naruto is on the same route in my opinion they are in process to making every NS moment that happen in the original manga is lie. And what happen in the last movie and upcoming boruto movie is the real one.

I doubt they will make it. But if they did, maybe I will watch it.
