Lol. It's a huge troll idea. I remember South Park even make fun of this, because people would be way too hyped up and then nope, do something else entirely.and die of course.
I can't help but always feel like in Naruto chapter 675 to 676, it's similar to that, only it was done by bad writing.

he hasn't shown that he can do that. two limbs is the full extent we've seen so far, but it would be cool to see a full body gear 3. the destructive power would be godly.

That's true. But my point still stands, it will be different since gear 2 based on blood as 3 based on bones. Maybe gear 4 (as somone said before) will be his gear 2 speed and form + gear 3 strength + enhanced haki for all 3 forms that would consume a huge chunk of his strenght mixed with fire.

I just predict it. So I don't have any problem if it doesn't happen.
I think oda use car gear for his gear mode. So I predict there will be 1 or 2 more gear before luffy use some new attack that has not related to gear.
With that said, the reason why I think gear 4 gonna be giant luffy is oda emphasize (& foreshadowing) the power of giant ever since luffy meet with the Viking giant.
I don't think there's anything wrong with giant luffy.
I think people doesn't want giant luffy because it's predictable or repetitive with gear 3 or lame.
There's still more battle to come and luffy still able to become strong.
Oh, and zoro will learn elemental sword/slash from samurai.

There's no problem with that, onepiece already big enough to sustain itself with or without hype. This is not naruto ;-)
