Seeing as how some people feel that this debate thread is lacking in actual debates, I thought it might be appropriate to post an argument made by rieriebee, a NaruHina/SasuSaku fan from the Anti-NaruSaku Tumblr (yes I dared venturing there). The following post actually addresses some of the things that we discussed recently, so I thought it would be interesting to see what you guys thought about it:

Oh man, I do love a new challenge of the week. Once I'm done with Halo, I will post mine. Hey, RomanceGirl, this one is all yours. happy.gif

tnx for spycing things up here. All I can really say to that is: "How cute, hes trying to think". I will only respond to the last part of his argument.

Naruto has complete faith in Sakura. Unlike Hinata with Naruto, Naruto trusts Sakura completely. He knows she can take on an akatsuki member with some support. And when he is down or injured he knows Sakura will be there to watch and ultimatly heal his back. He probably said that to look a bit cooler. Like he did in the forrest against Orochimaru, when he saved Sasuke from the snake. We all know Naruto likes to make an entrance. And he likes to make it big. I mean honestly have you ever seen just run into a battle, no he always makes an awesome apearance. But unlike Sakura, Naruto doesnt trust Hinata. Every time he has seen fight she got utterly defeated. So it would make sense to protect her more.

Summary: He trusts Sakura with his life, and feels like he has to protect Hinata before she gets herself killed.

Also yea cant wait for the debate team to get a hold of this one.

This is not exactly a debate about NS, but sorta relationships/friendships/family in Naruto in general.

Now then, I'm a self proclaimed super family tard. I have a fetish for family moments and all the feels it gives me (not just Naruto btw). Naruto has many bonds like that that just crush me to see destroyed. (Jiraiya and Naruto grandson/grandpa, MinatoKushinaNaruto self explanatory, etc)

There was one bond that I actually liked, even if for the briefest of moments, the Naruto and Sasuke "brother" bond. Before the VotE happened, I actually never really saw the two as brothers. Their 'close friend' status quickly diminished as Sasuke became more and more of a d***. But, when they fought in the valley of the end and Naruto admitted that Sasuke was like a brother to him, it did touch my family tard feels for a while.

To my point, while Kishi has made it evident that Sasuke will be redeemed somehow someway because Naruto never gives up and he's tried to drill it into our heads that Sasuke is Naruto's 'brother'.... why doesn't it feel like it? When Naruto and Sasuke meet, I don't feel that turmoil I think I should feel if the 'brother' relationship was really there. I don't really feel any tension and all I expect from their meetings is Naruto talking to a brick wall and then uselessly fighting said brick wall.

Kishi seems to do an excellent job at making other bonds more... real (though it depends, I also don't really get feels from Sasuke and Itachi). Why does it seem that Naruto and Sasuke's 'brothership' is just as forced as NH to me? Is it because I just detest Sasuke and can't care about him at all? That might be a huge factor, but I didn't really detest Sasuke until after the VotE. Even still I never really felt like, "Oh, what good brothers those two are." If others feel this way as well, do you think this could lead to problems with the further development of NS if he really can't make all bonds seem 'real'? Maybe that is his current problem, just look at the confession. Even he didn't seem to be completely content with it due to fan reactions right?

I'l make a more educated response later when I care to read what they stated more seriously, but I think they got it backwards... it's more Hinata's closure then Sakura's. Like I said though, I get more into detail about that later

Ok, so where do I begin with the post...

First of all, the confused feelings. First of all, when I said confused, it doesn't have to be something you already know. It can be well hidden that not even you know about it. For example, in FMA, Winry was just a good friend of Ed, but when she saw him walking strong, then it struck her about something special. That's when you know that there's something there but don't know what. That's where Sakura is not at, rather the first stage. She loves both guys, but one is very hidden until her emotions get the best of her. Again, Naruto hasn't say anything that will star struck her heart to make her questioned. If he does and she feels something different, then she is now in the second stage. Half way to realization. This is normal for many people. You will think you are only friend with that person, but maybe one day, that person will say or do something that will make you feel "new" and you may run out to start thinking over. Sakura has not really hit that stage, but her emotion when the nice atmosphere occurs shows off her feelings, yet she is still unaware. She's not battling over which guys because she hasn't hit the next stage yet.

She was sad about Sasuke being the nice guy. Ok, well here's the problem. Kishi already made it clear that she does love Sasuke still, though Naruto is close. That said why do we need to get another confirmation. Second, Sakura just got reality check that Sasuke is not a great guy, which is true. Third, you can feel sad about it, which begs a question to yourself, is this ok or not. In fact, Ino was the same thing in chapter 616. She had to move on and her father told her the real important of life. That said if that was the case, could it be possibly that Sakura will go through that as well. She has no parents in the battle or any life dangerous situation to tell her otherwise. To me, Ino's talk with her dad proves me that this arc will have many people moving on, and I can guarantee you that Naruto is not one.

Sai didn't really say Sakura was lying, rather it wasn't her intention when approaching to Naruto. Sai didn't really feel guilty about it. The whole purpose of Sai in that arc is trying to fit in with Team 7 because Naruto kept pushing him away, hence when he felt unsure when Kakashi told him about him being one of them. Sai hit the boiling point that Naruto is out there letting no one knows him and not able to confess his love, which in a way, he support his love. Sai knows that Naruto is really getting himself killed and not letting anyone else knows annoyed him, so he did what he felt like he must do. Sai told Sakura about Naruto because he knows they're close, yet Naruto won't go to a new level because of the promise. Sai told Sakura that Naruto really loves her because he's really going too far. While he does acknowledge that Naruto is also doing it for himself, the problem is that Naruto doesn't let anyone get close to his problems. Also, ask yourself this, if you hear someone is going too deep because that person loves you, how would you react? Sakura's reaction really shows how much she really cares for Naruto and how much it pained her because the irony is that Sakura wanted him safe at all cost, yet she is the one that hurt him the most, of course in her mind. If it's like Rock Lee (no offense), she will feel upset, but my god, the reaction she had for Naruto was priceless.

The promise is thrashed. First of all, Sakura is the one that wants the promise to end, but Naruto didn't really respond to it as ok or no, rather explaining that he will still rescue Sasuke. What he said didn't say that the promise is over, rather saying that even there was no promise, he will still go for Sasuke. For example, say I offer you a million dollars to save a friend, who is also your friend, because well, you are poor and needed to save yourself. At one point, I tell you to stop trying to save him, because you're going too deep, so I'll give you a million dollars, but you say even if I finally get help, I'm still going to save him because it's about saving your friend. See what I'm saying. It's not like you deny for help, but you are still doing it because you have a reason yourself. Pretty much Naruto is saying that nothing can stop him.

Sakura is willing to make Naruto hate her forever means she will never love Naruto. That's not true at all. The reason why she is doing it because again, when you see the panel when Sai told her maybe she has cost the most damage to Naruto as well, she was shocked. That's why Sakura said that fool is in love with me, because at that point, she really felt like she doesn't deserve anything good from him anymore. If Naruto have to blame someone to destroy his goal to save Sasuke, Sakura is willing to take it all because she no longer can't see Naruto go through with this and if she is to blame, her "redemption" was to free his burden by ending his quest. That's incredibly heroic and tragic if it was accomplished. Sakura felt alone when confronting Sasuke, so when Naruto shows up to save Sakura, it's like a way of him saying sorry as well as her hope is coming back alive. Do I think they still need to talk over this? Yes.

Nothing to confess? First of all, Naruto didn't tell her he loves her in her confession, but just felt surprised yet happy, only determined by blushes. Heck, maybe he would have tell her that he loves her, but once Sasuke's topic was brought up, he stopped. You can say she interrupted it. Just because she knows that he loves her doesn't mean he has no reason to confess. First of all, he didn't say that to Sakura in order to confirm that both of them knows it. Second, Naruto is unaware that Sakura knows that he loves her, so again, he still do have to confess so he, the guy who has this feelings, can get off his chest. Also, just because a person knows that another person loves him/her doesn't mean it's over. Actually, anime has done this before many times and yet, the person who already knows awaits for that person to say something to see if they're truly in love. Sakura doesn't know that from Naruto yet. Heck, even an anime filler, A FILLER, knows what they're talking about. It's not hard to understand this. Point is that Naruto is the only one left to confess and trust me, it will be game over.

Major part of his character. Well gee, are you sure about that? Saving her in matter of his own life from Gaara, dreaming of protecting Sakura, thinking about Sakura as his major part of the family that has him talking about his love, thinking of her before seeking training with Jiraiya, feeling heartbroken when Sakura confronts Sasuke, making a PotL, thinking of his promise that Sasuke wouldn't leave yet felt really bad that he was wrong, felt pain when he couldn't keep her smile, only to make the wait longer, felt pain when he found out he hurt Sakura, always concern of her behavior so he can make her smile again, feeling guilty of not keeping the promise, and honestly, I can go on. Please, tell me you're joking about this. Yamato said it best that his main goals is to rescue Sasuke and protect Sakura. Yeah, re-read yourself.

Nindou is in fact about not giving up and keep pushing forward. He may say it's not going back his words, but understand its meaning. It's like if I say I will get my driver's license no matter what. I failed my first test, but you know what, I will do it again until I can get better and pass it. It's self explanatory. Sharing nindou is actually not really good thing because you may think it's cute and all, but that's not what Naruto wanted to have as a lover. It's more of an idol/student kind of thing, hence how Hinata always feel inspired by his way of ninja. Yes, she loves Naruto, but again, it's only because of his nindou. She doesn't know him as a person and this is true because re-read it and see for yourself. Also, even if nindou doesn't mean never giving up, that theme is still Naruto's and guess what, even Jiraiya's book reflects the same characteristics of Naruto.

Kage Summit Arc being the conclusion of NaruSaku; yeah, that's a big no. It's more like a class reunion: meeting each other once again to see how is life between them. This reunion is more towards to Sasuke, so if anything, it's more like SasuSaku conclusion, but I digress. Think about it, the main focus was the reunion with Sasuke from everyone of Team 7. Sakura to fight off her old feelings for him, Kakashi to understand the hardship of student/teacher bond, and Naruto to understand what is best for both of them. In fact, it really makes sense because Sakura and Kakashi got to talk to Sasuke and learned from him, so now, they will leave to Naruto. It doesn't end NaruSaku, rather it reinforced it because Sakura is behind Naruto with his hopes and dreams, including Team 7 getting their happy endings. I won't be surprised that SasuSaku never happens again, but I do think perhaps they will for one final moment to end it once and for all. But again, Kage Summit Arc was more about Team 7 reunion, with the topic on Sasuke.

As for the "Hell Yeah" part, well you do know he said that BEFORE Kiba got to say anything, right? Also, Naruto was talking to Obito that his reign of terror is coming to an end because his friends are there. The only time he stopped is when Sakura shows up, which to me, that's a plus, because he didn't really respond to anyone when they kept saying, we're here and there. Overshadowed by Hinata, well yeah, not like others got the same momentum as Hinata, including Team 10. This is why I said people have placed her on a pedestal. First of all, she got the attention when Naruto saved her, so that sure took a while. Second, you should be happy that she actually got a response from Naruto because well, she was in pending for a long time, even Konohamaru got it first. Third, out of Team 8, she is the main one in there, like Shikamaru in Team 10, though they have special than the rest. People think she got a lot of attention, but in reality, she doesn't have that much, just more than her team, but again, she's the Shikamaru of Team 8. Let's quickly recap: Hinata got saved from Naruto because she needed that long awaited development; Hinata helped Naruto in 615 because this is Kishi's meaning of all characters to shine; Naruto's shoulder being fixed because she has to do something, she's no good fighter, so this is more of an example of how friends can help Naruto more ways than one. That's it. See, it's not hard. All of them are coincidence and needed. Last volume was about friendships and to be honest, you should feel worry that Hinata got placed in the friendship list, rather than special bond list. Sakura didn't appear because she is "better" than that and even Kishi knows it. Don't feel bad that 616 color spread didn't agree with you.

I don't need to bring that message, but my god, I might as well soon make it in my sig. Bottom line, NaruSaku is not dead. From the words of the book of Jiraiya: Give up on telling us to give up.

Kushina said the Uzumaki clan was a rowdy bunch when she first talked about them to Naruto. Although that still doesn't guarantee anything given that Nagato is also an Uzumaki but he's rather tame.

We suspect she might be like Kushina given her Uzumaki lineage but also because having a fierce girl with Hashirama sounds like a Kishi thing to do. There's too much comedy potential between Hashi and Mito if she really turns out to be a sort of tsundere. Let's hope Kishi doesn't waste the opportunity.

Am I the only one thinking that Mito actually liked Madara because of his stronger personality at first?? we can see from these flashbacks that Hashirama is apparently a big wimp when he was a child. That would've given Mito a reason to look down on him, much like Kushina did with Minato.

@Kira: To be honest, the HashiMadara brotherly relationship, to me is soo much better developed compared to SasuNaru. And I wish Kishi didn't rush it and force it down our throats.

Sakura stands up for Naruto in this side mission, although at the end it seems it was for her own benefit. Gave me mixed feelings.

Still, it's funny how Kushina in another mission (posted by soraandven above) forces Minato to buy her dumplings while Sakura convinces Naruto to buy her anmitsu next time.

It's nice how Naruto thinks of Sakura when trying to give examples of femininity.

actually I didn't liked this, they're clearly comparing Sakura and Hinata and their behavior towards Naruto, In the first video they made Sakura stands up for Naruto but then give to it that vibe that it was for her own benefit and then we have Hinata talked that way because the girls were picking on Naruto and she didn't had liked that.

It's funny that they have portrayed Sakura that way .. because in canon, she is the only who always get mad when people badmouth Naruto.

Well, Great Post. I think i will never get how you guys take the time to write something like that. happy.gif

Its always intresting to see that NH fans seem to bring up the same points again and again, without the slightest proove of it.
Also why do they always have to assume that the main protoganist needs to change instead of the side character that shows up about 10 times during the whole story? I will never understand it.

If NS ended after the summit arc, i ask myself why kishi didnt bother to make MinaKushi a paralllel to NaruSaku. Not to forget that he also added kushinas words to find someone like her, after showing the similarities between her and Sakura. He even backed that all up with the current movie so i really dont know how someone is able to get the conclusion that NS is dead.

But i guess it really makes sense that now after 600 chapters developing NS, kishi would suddenly start building up NH in the middle of the war out of nowhere. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Kishi created a protoganist with the characteristic to never change and never give up on his goals, but sadly a lot of people prefer to support the side character with little to no development instead.

I would like some people to answer this question: Why shoul naruto change and give up now if he never did before?

It is possible to move on. smile.gif -- unless you live in the Naruto world. laugh.gif

My question is, why is it necessary for the main character to move on from a positive love interest that he's had for at least 2/3 parts of the manga? Hinata and Sakura at least has a reason to move on, and it's not "because my feelings were not returned"

I didn't like that. The girls aren't that rude, Ino is even a fond of Naruto. I even think Naruto would be able to stand up for himself, I've always thought of him as a guy with confidence.

It's funny that they have portrayed Sakura that way .. because in canon, she is the only who always get mad when people badmouth Naruto.

Couldn't have said it better. I even saw a funny comment that claimed Naruto still has Hinata. But who was the one who observed his years of loneliness and did nothing? :v She has never defended him.

Loved it! That was so much like tsundere Sakura. She didn't want to admit that she just stood up for Naruto because she wanted to. Instead she conceals her real reasons by telling him it was for anmitsu laugh.gif

Ok, couple of things:

About the video with all girls chatting about Naruto. I actually like it. Here's a thing people often forgets in a way: Sakura is a tsundere. She has that characteristics to show tender yet hide it with something else. This was like that in Storm 2 that she tried to hide the fact she had Hinata to spend time with Naruto along with herself to get do something nice for Naruto. When Naruto finds out, she tried to deny it and they just hit it off easily. In this case, Sakura already planned to talk about Naruto, but he shows up, hence the timing is bad. Naruto got bashed but Sakura already know that was going to happen and she sees him down, so she, of course, helped out. Naruto is lovey dovey about Sakura, so like many tsundere, they want in return. It happened to me yesterday. Now I got to get her a cake.... sweatdrop.gif

I do like how Naruto immediately thought of Sakura as an example of feminine. He even knows her characteristics pretty well. I also like how Naruto let Hinata handled herself since they're the one asked her. It's like a student/teacher moment and see how she can stand up. Overall, good move, CC2.

The one I have to give CC2 a lot of credits is MinaKushi. I believe there's two I have saw but let's go over one. The one that I like a lot is when Kakashi flashback the time when Minato had to do something for Kushina. When he was late, Kushina got furious and pretty much overpower Minato. Gee, I wonder where I hear that before. She made him buy dumplings to get redemption. Gee, I wonder where I hear that before. When the moment is calm, Kushina shows her other side, the nice side. Gee, I wonder where I hear before. Minato saw something troubling her, so he said something that can make her happy. Kushina is happy, but then, her other side (scary side) returns and demands Minato to tell her and you can tell she overpowered him again. Gee! I wonder where I hear that before! It was fun moment and like how Kakashi said that when Minato returned, he looked exhausted, as if she really killed him, not literally of course. Then to top it, Kakashi even said Naruto reminded him of Minato. Parallel much, CC2? If CC2 gets it, why can't all of us.

Another scene is when Jiraiya and Kakashi talked to each other in the flashback that Naruto is like similar to Kushina because of the attitude. But funny thing is that if she was alive and she heard that, she will beat the crap out of them. GEE, I WONDER WHERE I HEAR THAT BEFORE! They also compared him with Minato with determination and such, even though he can be reckless. I think CC2 got the MinaKushi idea pretty good and it begs the question again: who Kushina resembles to again??????

I would like some people to answer this question: Why shoul naruto change and give up now if he never did before?

Thank you for reading it. It took me a while, but when you have music in your head and the list on what to talk about, you can write it with a breeze. Yeah, that's another problem, if Kishi wanted to end NS completely, then why did he two parallel of a love story, let alone the story itself. Kushina was a mystery to us, but once she smacked Naruto, I immediately thought of Sakura and yes, that was the point: another tsundere. Kishi even added the words from Kushina about love. Somehow, Naruto will bring this up, once he feels close to Sakura. Again, Naruto and Sakura has not gotten physically close, so Sakura has so many chances because of no interactions. You may think it sounds bad, but the fact that she's on hold means something major will occur soon and the fact Hinata didn't bring anything that suggests Naruto about her. There was none. Kuruma, Killer Bee, and Naruto himself didn't approach to Sakura to make a comment that will seal the deal. So yeah, the advantages are on her side.

That's the problem with some people. People wants Naruto to change because we are near end and if he don't change, NS will be canon and kill their pairings. This is pretty much the final straw in their part. If it doesn't happen, it's all game over. It may be a stretch but hey, I hope they don't take it hard. Just expect a crash in many forums.
