Top Naruto: "Of all his various poses, the cross-legged Naruto is unusual."
Bottom Naruto: "His clothes are designed in detail, it feel awkward."
Left Sakura: "It seems many feminine actions have the best in fighting poses with Sakura!?"
Is femininity the only trait that Kishi and Pierrot can use as a centre of interest for these characters? The latter purposefully damages even that selling point with their botched interpretation of Kishi's artwork. Why not endeavour to shed some light on how these women have progressed in their careers and reputation as shinobi? Those questions could offer some level of characterisation, even if their roles are short-lived in the movie. Well, at least there's a stronger basis to suggest that Sakura will be seeing a level of involvement in the fighting.
A cross-legged Naruto isn't anything out of the ordinary. Hasn't he been seen in that position on several occasions in the manga? I can remember him sitting down in a meditative stupour as he was fighting Kurama in his subconscious and whenever he was gathering natural energy.
Naruto's outfit does seem to be more institutionalised with the armband, coat, and undershirt. Could it be a byproduct of some newly integrated martial code between the countries? I don't believe so. For one, Naruto isn't the kind of person to be ruled by procedure or formality. Secondly, if there was a new standard that had been enacted then anyone wearing a uniform would have a similar design, wouldn't they? There has to been some explanation for his change in clothes though.
