Just found out that Akagami no Shirayuki-hime is getting an anime. I've only read a couple chapters of the manga, but this has me pretty excited.

I'll see if I'm going to wait for the anime, or will read the manga ahead of the time. It's been running since 2006, so it's quite a lot of chapters.

Nope it's monthly and not translated regulary, so... yeah.

But monthly mangas range from 40 to 50 pages per chapter.

It's more. I read a few monthly mangas. 24 to 30 pages is what biweekly chapters usually have.

It's too much even for monthly manga. 40 50 usually goes to bimonthly and even then when they get regular place, they will reduce the number pages to 28 to 30-ish pages.

Some monthly mangas really do go over 40 pages though:

Newest chapter Ch.70 of Attack on Titan: 46 pages

Newest chapter Ch.55 of Noragami: 44 pages

A chapter of Happiness: 40 pages

Of course you have to subtract three to four pages due to the translators and advertisement.

Yup, you're right.
I just check it on some monthly manga.
But some chapter only have 20 pages, but regularly it goes 40 to 50 pages.

I don't read too many monthly mangas due to the lack of hype I experience with them. So I guess I'm just really lucky that I read monthly mangas that have at least 40 pages

Well, it's 40 pages just like you said.

Regular weekly manga goes to 18 pages.
So in a month they could have 4 chapters, so it gonna be 62.
But I think monthly manga have more quality than weekly manga.

Well, most of the time, I can expect better art quality with monthly mangas. I can't really say too much about the quality in story writing.

I'll definitely agree with you on the heavier workload weekly mangakas have... I don't even know how they manage to balance out family and work- especially w/out assistant.

Speaking of monthly manga: I don't know why Togashi put HxH on hiatus, but just theoretically: Do you think HxH coming back as a monthly manga would work out?
