Shikamaru is suppose to be Naruto's confident right? It sure does seem like it's getting off to a rocky start. Perhaps the only reason why he want's to be Naruto's confident is to try to get Naruto to spill the beans on what he is hiding.

I give you a hint, watch this week's episodes. You know who I'm talking about. (and I maybe wrong though, Karin is the other possibility, since she wasn't shown later on after Naruto and Co. came back to the village. During the whole time, maybe she is currently being interrogated by Ibiki. This may also solved the Yamato disappearance as well. Since of not enough panel space, I believe along the way they met up with Yamato along the way, though it should've shown because it will be another comic scene -I want scary face to return for the lulz- but I guess Kishimoto forgot about it).

If I were to guess, based off of kishis interview I believe that this could be where shikamaru becomes his confident.


And also for people waiting for a NaruSaku confrontation about her confession I just had a thought. Sakura has to be the one to bring it up mainly because Naruto is never going to. He won't bring it up simply because he is not entirely sure himself as to where her feelings for him stand. So him being his usual self, he is not even going to touch on it. However, I do have a strong feeling that Sakura will talk to Tsunade about her feelings about Naruto when she is telling her what happened. I believe that to have the strongest chance of happening in the immediate future and seems most likely the next step for this pairing to grow if it is the final pairing of the series.

This was a good Chapter, it's nice to see the plot moving along well and I have a feeling we may have a confrontation between Naruto and Sakura in the next one.

actually we cant say specifically what she sensed. it is msot likely Kyuubi i grant, but its also possible she could be sensing something else, perhaps even what Itachi left him.

I suppose that's definitely possible. But I personally think that it was the Kyuubi that she sensed. It makes the most sense logically - after all, she was sensing his chakra when she suddenly got that nasty evil jolt and we know Kyuubi has chakra - and usually the simplest answer is the correct one.

Actually, have we even really seen mention of the whole Itachi gift thing since? I really cannot recall.

And remember that tsunade has huge regrets about not telling Jiraiya that she loved him,maybe she will tell sakura not to make the same mistake

he wasnt talking about a jutsu. the actual quote is dont Use "That Power". he was referring to the Kyuubi at the time. the end result fo him using "That power" was 4 a scar on Sakuras arm. hence the reason he was told not to use it.

Great job finding all of those! I knew the buildup was happening over the manga, but I've never felt the full impact of those smiles right next to each other. Very touching!

Ummm...Don't wanna be a "Debbie Downer" ....What if the Naruto's ramen shop is gone? Has anyone thought about that? Pain might have destroyed it a while back...

LOL tvs came out of nowhere, but you gotta remember that we've only been seeing the poor little ninja villages' views on things. The country's rulers (Daimyo...something like that) all have cash and are the ones hiring the ninjas. Therefore, they can afford TVs and stuff for themselves and people they need 'em for (like the headquarters of the ninjas they buy from).
I'm guessing that it only seems like this is a feudal era because ninjas live relatively simple lives without expensive things, instead using birds and cooler looking garbage to send letters. Either that or Kishi felt like it was a good day for a plot/setting hole.

Nice chapter; taking a break from fights, and most of the rookie nine were together again!
