Well the full script hasn't been release yet so it could be Sakura having a flashback reflecting on her feelings for Naruto and finally letting go of Sasuke that will be amazing for us and terrible for S/S and N/H. I highly doubt it's Sakura confessing to Sasuke that she loves him that will make her character development go down the hill.

What if Sakura is neither joining Sasuke to kill him, or because she's in love with him.

Forgive the rambling, but I'm just trying to work this all out.

All this time, Sakura and Naruto have wanted to save Sasuke. That's become their ultimate goal. Naruto wants this done before he even becomes Hokage as stated when he asked Sasuke how he could become Hokage if he couldn't even save his friend. So far that's been the driving force for both of them.

Then Sai explains that they have all been relying on Naruto too much and need to do something themselves without him. Next Shikamaru comes in and explains to Sakura that they (Teams Kakashi, Azuma, Kurenai and Gai) have to stop Akatsuki and more importantly stop Sasuke. He also says that it has to be done for Konoha's future REGARDLESS of her answer. Sakura decides she'll be the one to tell Naruto.

She never says what she'll tell him or exactly what she's decided. However it does say what she's thinking and we can assume thoughts don't lie like words can. She believes she's caused Naruto the most pain because Naruto is in love with her and she made him make her that promise. She feels she’s done nothing but make mistake and doesn't want to make another one. Again it doesn't elaborate as to what mistake she might possibly make.

When they left Konoha Sakura looked determined as Kiba said also saying he didn't know she was planning but it would get really awkward. Lee said Sakura had her own ideas on how to handle the situation.

Then comes the WAY she explained why she loved Naruto. Naruto could tell/believed she wasn't being truthful (and/or he just couldn't bring himself to believe she does love him). Anyway Sakura said she realized it didn't make sense for her to love Sasuke because:
1-he's a fugitive and a criminal
2-she can’t stay a kid forever and
3-she wants to face reality.
Most importantly she then asks Naruto to stop chasing Sasuke.

She didn't want anyone else taking to Naruto and she didn't tell him about what they were planning for Sasuke. The beginning of the confession sounded like she was simply trying to persuade Naruto TO STOP CHASING SASUKE. After all if he could come to terms with that idea, how could he let them kill Sasuke? Maybe this was just her way of finding out if he was capable of letting Sasuke go. Obviously he wasn’t.

(As for the rest of the confession this really is either Naruto being unable to believe it or it simply not being truthful. Either way it shows Sakura recognizes Naruto is the person she SHOULD be in love with regardless of her actual feelings. That results in Naruto believing or just simply knowing Sakura is lying to herself.)

Moving on, we see in the next chapter how Sakura takes offence to Naruto's disbelief which is either real anger or her covering up her lie. It’s like she's trying one last time to get him to come back to Konoha with her and keep him out of danger. Where it’s being in love or not, she really does care for Naruto (Yamato coulda told you that ) When she asks once more for Naruto to give up his promise, she sees she really can’t make him let go of Sasuke, promise or not. She then leaves, lying about her destination and not telling him about Sasuke's sentence by their generation.

When she thought, "Naruto... I'm sorry!" It’s never explained what she is sorry for. Is it betrayal because she's going to kill Sasuke or something else entirely?

1-Sai said they needed to stop relying on Naruto.
2-Sakura recognizes Naruto won't give up on Sasuke.
3-Shikamaru and the rest will stop Sasuke, aka kill, him to prevent a war.
4-Sakura didn't involve Naruto by telling him what was being planned.
5-Sakura doesn't want to make any more mistakes.
6-Sakura thinks she’s caused Naruto the most pain and probably doesn't want to cause him anymore.
7-It's stated Sakura has her own plan on how to handle this and she's determined to do so.

If you add up those things, Sakura doesn't want Naruto in whatever she is planning and knows it will hurt him. This could mean when she was with him she couldn't tell them in their company or it was something he would never agree to. She knows killing Sasuke would cause him pain so she isn't taking her teammates who would kill him with her. This could just be her stubbornness to be the one to end this or it could be she doesn't want him dead.

Of course there is one little hitch in all of this, what is said in Chapter 474 between Sai and Naruto.

Finally there is her arrival at the scene. She stops Sasuke from killing Karin, realizes he is different and says she will follow him and leave Konoha. At some point during all this it says her determination wavers, but what is she determined to do?

The two obvious choices are the ones that have discussed for the majority of this thread.

Sakura is really going rouge. She is betraying the village for Sasuke. She wanted to see how Naruto felt about helping to kill Sasuke and her sorry to Naruto was for her betrayal. Her determination wavered because he has changed and she isn't sure if she still wants to do this with how different he now is.

Sakura had decided to kill Sasuke all by herself like Sai said. She was gauging Naruto's reaction on how he would react and trying to lift his burden a little before going through with it. (Sakura confessed her feelings because she would never have another chance if he chose to hate her.) It really is a simple trick. But her determination wavered because he could kill her or she still feels something.

Finally there is my best guess.

She wants to save Sasuke first and foremost. She is joining him to bring him back to who he once was. She won’t kill him, but protect him from Konoha if need be. She apologized to Naruto because she was betraying Konoha, but not him personally. She wants to protect Sasuke partially or fully for Naruto's sake. Her determination wavered because she isn't sure if it is possible to save Sasuke anymore.

Was wondering the same thing, maybe the title of this chapter is 'something amazing happens' It probably refers to Sasuke's fangirls former and current chairperson finally seeing Sasuke for what he really is, that would be something quite amazing.

Wonder what SasuSaku fans are going to say about the attempted murder? I know he was going to kill her because he couldn't bear to have her see him become the monster he's become!! Yup that's it Sasuke was wiling to kill her to save her the pain of seeing the man she loves become a phychotic blood thirsty mad man...so not really much different from before...lol

Though I'm wondering why Karin is still alive? Didn't she get a flashback sequence, and isn't it a unwritten Manga law that when a charactor gets a flashback when close to death they are going to die by the end of the chapter....happened with Danzou, the Espada in Bleach and ofcourse last week in One Piece. Maybe that's the amazing thing, a charactor gets a flashback just as they are about to die and they survived.

I couple of things in my mind:

1) Dear SS, see this is why you must never get your hopes up. When looking at a pairing, especially at one from a shonen, you really must look at it in a analytical way. Sure, Sakura and Sasuke would make a cute couple, but after 483 chapters Sasuke has not shown any feelings of love (do not mixed them up with friendship or caring) towards Sakura.

2) I am disappointed Sakura did not fight Sasuke. Ok, I know Sakura would not have won, but I still wanted Sakura to show chicken-butt head what she is made of This is the second time we almost had a sakura vs Sasuke, and it never happends. I am looking for a reason and all I can think of is maybe Sakura will do some training like Naruto. Maybe, she will finally develop her genjutsu skills and show us what her element is

3) Karin is still alive
4) Kakashi vs. Sasuke :starwars: Even do Sakura will probably not fight, I am super excited about this battle. I could not concentrate in class today (I red the spoilers while waiting for class to begin) because of this fight.

5) Sakura will not leave Konoha; therefore, Hinata's future with Naruto is going down

So while I have no interest in any kind of Sasuke/T7 reunion, I can't wait to see the exchange between Naruto and Sakura when they meet up again. This fight won't last long at all. Sasuke should be exhausted, and Madara will take him away if it gets too bad, so i'd say 2-3 chapters until Team Kakashi is back together.

Naturally, he'll be upset. But it'll be resolved in the end. Sakura will explain herself, maybe her confession alongside that.
