I'm so happy Sakura started yelling at Naruto and gave him a bit of a verbal smackdown considering his attitude last chapter.

Yes quite easilly too.

how? simple arrogance.

he underestimates Sakura entirely to the point of dismissal. remember he has never seen her fight, never seen the damage she can do.

one punch and its over for him. Susanoo cannot protect agaisnt broken bones, and its ahrd to use amtateratsu and Tsukiyomi when half your face is caved in.

also at stake is the reasons for the fight. Kishimoto has been very solid about staying within the bounds of the themes of greatest strength by protecting whats precious to you. Even Sasuke benefitted from it when Karin was endangered.

Sakura is protecting naruto so her strength is limitless.

the potential for the fight may runs oemthing like this.

Sakura initially has trouble as Sasuke wipes the floor with Kiba and after a brief but brillaint fight smacks Lee down. meanwhile Sakura and Sasuke fight on a mental and emotional level. with Sasuke telling his side of the story, while sakura appeals to their former friendship and his bond with Naruto ((not her)).

She one last time brings up the bench scene, demanding an explanation for his behavior on that date, Sasuke laughs and tells her the truth, explaining what happened.

Sakuras shock is replaced first by anger then as the memories flash abck fo all narutos done for her.

then as Sasuke tries to just cut her down Sakura makes an choice. with the truth buoying her feelinsg and making them real. She proceeds to beat sasuke like a rented mule.

the fights end then depends on which way Kishimoto decides to take things.

If he goes for the capture/hostage idea. then Karin may involve herself, or Madara may get involved hismelf and overwhelm Sakura. this leaves Lee and Kiba to pass on the information to Naruto leading to the future confrontation.

If he goes straight to a Naruto Sasuke fight Sasuke pulls off a last second miracle use of the Sharingan and stops Sakura with Tsukiyomi tormenting her with her past and with watching naruto be killed over and over. In the meantime Karin heals Sasuke with her ability so hes at full strength.

a badly shaken Sakura is saved when naruto appears and the fight between the two begins in earnest.

just speculation but either scenario is plausible.

lol......Ok, lets look at this from a story standpoint not individual character strengths. What purpose would be served if Sakura defeated Sasuke ? And why would Kishi do that when the entire series has been focused around Sasuke and Naruto ? :/ Plus, I think EVERYONE is waiting for the Sasuke vs Naruto fight especially considering the first one was one of the best in the series. Add to that Sasuke and Naruto are several times more powerful than they were at that point and Sakura beating Sasuke just isn't even plausible,not because Sasuke is that much more powerful but simply because Kishi wouldn't want it that way. But, I can totally see your second option happening.

Yeah, Sakura being able to get one hit in based on Sasuke under-estimating her is possible. Doesn't mean she can defeat him...Sakura has other ways to use her strengths ^^

I sort of see how Sai's comments to Sakura led to what she did... She wanted to remove the POAL, and that seems to be accomplished so at least her part of the burden is released. Then, it also seems like she knew Naruto probably wouldn't stop chasing Sasuke, so she had a back-up plan which was to find him on her own. She does this because she wants to keep Naruto out of Akatsuki's hands. While we don't have a definite answer to if she was telling the truth about being in love with Naruto, her defense of her own words seem to hint that she was a lot more sincere than she appeared to be. And her actions actually support her sincerity quite a bit as well. If Naruto won't stop taking risks, Sakura will have to take some risks herself to try to protect him.

NaruHina fans celebrate, battering Naruto's words and beating them to a point beyond recognition. They set their flames ablaze on the fandoms of NaruSaku, screaming, cheering, declaring their premature victory.

Meanwhile the NaruSaku supporters congregate, whispering amongst themselves at their sanctuary, speaking dignified words of hope and faith, not for a second folding under the torrents of hatred and smug bashing cast upon them by the NaruHina fans.

And meanwhile still, Kishimoto plans...

I think everyone spoke too soon. NH and NS alike. Hopefully all the flames will die, because right now, DA is infested with NaruSaku bashing.

Anyways, time for spoiler talky.

I'm a bit late to jump on this bandwagon, as everything's pretty much been said already, I guess. While the idea of Sakura being ''the damzel in distress who must be saved by her dashing prince'' seems a little cliche, and even belittling Sakura's character, I always like to see how Kishi takes trite, battered plot devices and executes them in such a way that they become new and fresh.

'Course, that doesn't mean I don't want to see Sakura kick some ass.

Jesus Christ stop with the Sakuratardness already. She cannot even come close to defeating Sasuke. Oh wow she has super strength and can do one hit knockouts!! 1)She can't even come close to matching his speed. 2)How is she going to land a hit when Sasuke does Chidori Nagashi and covers his whole body electrocuting her as soon as she comes even an inch close. 3)Even if she lands a hit Sasuke isn't going to be knocked out considering he was still standing after taking the full force of the Raikage wrestling move that is more powerful than anything Sakura can muster.

Break out of Tsukiyomi that requires either the Sharingan or a bijuu? The only way her survival is based on a statement the time thing that Kakashi noted about her being good at genjutsu which she did once in part 1 during the Chunnin exams. She isn't going to out last that without being emotionally broken as she has already is suspectable to. How is she going to do anything about Amaterasu at all? Punch it? Sasuke is already far advanced with it and can easily set her a blaze. And don't even start on Susano which is simply a joke for Sasuke to even consider using. He will only need a two tomoe Sharingan to beat her.

The only way Sakura can beat Sasuke is quite simple.

True is right, we're not being discriminatory here at all. But as arrogant as Sasuke is, he has the ability to back it up. Even though it's mostly that hacked Sharingan, he stills packs a punch without even using it. His speed is top-notch after getting drugs and training from Orochimaru and fighting S-Class Criminals. His Chidori Nagashi pretty much fries anybody around his body.

Even if Sakura can smash the ground, Sasuke would learn to dash out of the way.

Anyways, Sakura is a healer first, fighter last. She would be a support member, like Tsunade taught her.

That is such a narrow minded interpretation of my statement that I can't even believe it. Not once did I say that she was flawless and that everyone who criticizes her is a basher. It's just hard to see that you weren't bashing when first of all you called me a Sakuratard for thinking that maybe, just MAYBE she's strong enough to stand up against Sasuke, and second, you totally just said that the only possibe way she could ever beat him anyways was through fanfiction.

Since when do people not like Sakura? I don't understand. She is plainly confessing her newfound love for Naruto as she has then been shot down by Naruto's criticism. In fact, it astounds me that she likes him considering the oppression he just showed in the last chapter. And now when she has his best interest at heart and not an ulterior motive, Naruto continues to angrily scold her! For shame. In chapter 469, he face was full of emotion, her words were sincere, and she made full eye contact throughout the entire confession (one of the best I have seen in any manga, if I may add). She CLEARLY only had her own emotions and Naruto's feelings in mind. It sickens me that anyone on H&E would criticize this poor, defenseless girl. She has no imperfections whatsoever. I can't believe anyone would criticize her character in these latest chapters. I hate chauvinists.

Alright I'll give a serious response.

I did not quote you nor anyone. Just the general concession of people vastly overrating Sakura. If you are allowed to call NaruHina/SasuSaku fans for being delusional about their pairing, then I can do the same for people thinking Sakura can reasonably defeat Sasuke. My post was logical and coherent giving clear points. If you don't like it then feel free to counter them (with concise and believable points that don't involve PIS) at anytime.
