Impotent?
You mean, important.

I see your point. However, while that may be so, the fact still remains that he is indeed the man in power right now. Temporary or not, that's still a stretch of time to do some damage in whatever sinister ways he may have in that old noggin of his.
Temporary leadership can be just as bad as the permanent; the only difference is one has an undetermined expiration date.

Danzou is like the yogurt in my fridge. Sour when you get it, and sour when it goes bad. :zaru

Let's be careful man, as much as I agree, this is NOT the place for such talk.
Anyways, the way Kishi ended this chapter was great, his abillity to give great cliffhangers never ceases to amaze me.

(XD. The old Kodak camera represents how long it took the pairing to get this far

Man talk about a NaruSaku Kodak moment.
Yeah, I'm to so pumped and

I think it's going to be epic if Naruto storms in and Mifune points out, here is the Jinchuuriki now in the flesh.

Can't wait for the next chapter and so on.

And then look at the hood and the hairstyle:

If that's not the Sasori puppet, I don't know what else it is

Wow! Thanks so much, Shauna-chan!

I guess that clears that up.

I can't wait for the next chapter! That NaruSaku moment just has to grow!

I didn't see Sai as angry, or as this being some wake-up-call to Sakura's 'curse' on Naruto. Actually, this was Sai speaking passionately on behalf of his teammate. Sakura didn't string along Naruto's promise to her. In fact, other than her crying she had much less of a reaction then Naruto had throughout. I would say, up until that point, that she had wanted Sasuke back for -Naruto's- sake. What I think Sai's role was to bring to light that Naruto yes, loves her. Loves her very much; enough to have his heart break just for her sake. Naruto's been hiding the full extent of his feelings for her for her sake, and with everything going on I really don't blame her for not seeing it. Heck, even I thought he had put the promise to the back of his mind. There's been so much emphasis on "bringing back your teammate!" "bonds!" "brotherhood!" that I forgot the "promise" part of the equation.
Sai has gotten an outside glimpse in, which is quite valuable actually despite what others may say. He sees what's there in front of him, his eyes aren't clouded by memories of the old days and he doesn't have the same perspective that others do. Actually, it seems that those with the most NaruSaku clarity HAVE been outsiders. Look at Yamato--he saw the feelings Sakura had when she herself didn't recognize them. Sai sees Naruto's feelings and confronts his situation even if Naruto himself feels they should be put back. Naruto doesn't see it as a poison, what Sasuke and denying himself of Sakura's love is doing to him. And Naruto is pretty darn persuasive; if he can convince himself of something I'm sure he can convince those around him. What Sai has been is our voice, the one saying "OMG STOP IT WITH SASUKE ALREADY AND YOU TWO START GETTING TOGETHER!!!" Now that voice has travelled to Sakura.
She feels guilty, obviously, but I don't see this as an attack on her. I see this as a huge revelation of more than just Naruto's love, but now of Sasuke's position in their life.
Me? I loved it. It confirmed Naruto's feelings and THANK YOU Sai for saying what I've been thinking on Sasuke. IT IS POISON. CURSE. STOP PLEASE. It was very powerful, and though we're not canon yet I think we're pretty safe. That Hinata confession is not looking so threatening now that the main character she confessed to revealed indirectly his love for Sakura.
Oh Sai... <3<3<3

Anything else?

You make an excellent point, Figurine-chan. But the way I see it, Sai was being stern with Sakura like any good friend seeing another friend suffer would. He wanted her to see what was in front of her and not something that's been long gone.
He may not be angry, but the way his eyebrows are furrowed means he's isn't exactly happy that these two are suffering over a ungrateful nuke-nin.

Such a beautiful post, Figurine-chan!

You explained it so well, and even though I expected that Sai and Sakura moment to have such a deep meaning, you managed to dig deeper than that.

Great job!

Anyway, I agree completely with your post. Sai just wanted to let Sakura know that Naruto had to suffer great lengths to fullfill that promise, and Sasuke had made things difficult for our blonde ninja. Yet, Sakura was kept in the dark on the extreme things Naruto was currently doing for that said promise.
Sai just wanted to shed some light on Sakura's part, and that is development on his character. He managed to release his emotions and learn more about his friendship, and more importantly, his new friends.

I'm so proud of that artist~

Can someone tell me what's the purpose of Sasuke being in Konoha? Don't Naruto & Sakura realize nothing will ever be the same despite their actions? What can Sasuke offer Konoha & Team Kakashi?
Damn Sai makes a better teammate than Sasuke! I think everyone can agree that the new team 7 is a hell alot better than the old team 7!

As much as I personally agree with all of this, in the context of the story and the beliefs of it's characters I don't see them getting over him. One of the running themes of the manga has been redemption. Much as it would make sense and they would be justified in accepting what Sasuke's become, I don't see Naruto ever giving up on him completely. He's just not like that.
It's going to take five gallon jugs of suspension of disbelief to roll with it, but by the end Sasuke's probably going to be "redeemed" in some way.
I agree, but Sai has the unfortunate distinction of second best or replacement. As long as they continue to chase Sasuke and wisps of rose tinted memories, Naruto and Sakura are unlikely to realize the current Team 7 dynamic is arguably a much healthier one than the one of early Part 1. Just how it rolls, sadly.
He was voted in. Danzou seized power through kittenin' timing and underhandedness. Besides, I'm not usually one for political metaphors. Dragging politics into anything usually leads to trouble.

But when the confession happened there was like one panel and then it went on to a flashback of her crying because she understands the pain she has put Naruto through. I don't really see it being NaruSaku moment yet but possibly. It seems all of the romantic encounters are dealt with after the main plot is over and done with.
But what does it all mean is going to happen? Is she going to tell Naruto that she no longer loves Sasuke and then confess her love to Naruto? I think she's still really confused but maybe Sai pointing this out will really help her work thinks out in her own head. I really think Sakura needs another growth stage.

Woo, Go Sai!! (And Narusaku, 'course.)
But when I saw Kankuro's puppet, I was like, 'Sasori?' I guess you guys have clear that one up already though.

I think they were referring to the power the administration has gotten or is trying to get (healthcare, cap and trade,
gm, bailout/tarp ect)
