^Ugh, I hate those, those just seem to waste my time. I just mainly hate the out of character stuff. I do admit that I have made them a little out of character as well, but reading one is displeasing I also hate typos, especially when some one really doesn't know how to spell and so after a multiple of words they say (sp?) and it gets really annoying.

My greatest fanfic pet peeve is bad grammar and wrong spelling. This just destroys my eyes and my already low enough IQ. Another thing I hate are Self-inserts who are Mary Sue/Gary Stu and suddenly have every person of the opposite gender going after them. Seriously, they just get on my nerves. <.<

Those two combined? The bane of all fanfictions and enough to send me to the psych ward.

Well I have put in an OC, but she's not me, I would find it too akward, so I tried that once with one of my earlier obsession (Teen Titans) And it came out completely stupid. My recent Oc is for Sasuke; his girlfriend. Hey the Uchiha clan has to be restored some how. But she's not absolutely perfect.

I find that to be a horrendous problem in the fanfic world. I do enjoy some Oc's that have an attitude, but when they make them perfect it makes me sick. My Oc has a tragic past and a metal leg to prove it and she may have a Kekkai-Genkai, but the Uchiha clan would want a strong recruit.

Most of the time though, I only read the Fourth Hokage son stories and the Naruto Sakura stories. I have to have romance or a family secret, relationship, type of thing.

I also hate it when people on FF.net put a SasuSaku fanfic in the NaruSaku catergory and it would be with out filters all over again! And having to scratch your way through hundreds of pages and your eyes begin to hurt because you see soooo much SasuNaru and SasuSaku and then finally your eyes water with happiness as you finally find a NaruSaku fanfic.

I also don't really like stories with out a plot. It's okay to make little chapters and build it up to the climax but, I've read some that are absolutely pointless. And sure you should have fun reading fanfics and writing them as well, but the thing is, people who read them won't like it. More less read them if they aren't written properly. I have learned that typos are more of a small problem to some people while their weakness (Like myself) is keeping character. I'm getting better.

My peeves:

1. Complete OOC without a good explanation for it. Because some OOC is good everyonce and a while.
2. Badly written Yaoi. (ie. Sasuke turns into a flaming Homosexual.)
3. Badly written lemons.
4. MPREG
5. Story characterOC pairing. I prefer an OC to stay as minor characters except if they are the children of characters. (ie. Naruto and Sakura's children.)
6. Over use of Japanese words. I know I've done it before, but I've stop for that fact it got to confusing.
7. When characters automatically fall in love with each other. I like complicated love stories with steps.
8. Tragedy and angst. Those stories tend to make me cry.

Good topic...of course I'm new here but not on ff.net, been visiting that site for almost 2 years already...

Okay, my peeves:

1. OOC...too much OOC..unless if it's parody of course. But I also made Sasuke OOC in one of my story...it's a one shot and I don't like it either that much but I didn't delete it. Maybe because some people are still reading it even though Sasuke's OOC..so hell with the consequences anyway...XD

2. OC mains...I don't like it when they make an OC a main character and pair it to a really hot boy...ex. Sasuke, Neji or Naruto...

3. Not so much into High School fics but I read some once in a while...oh yeah! I also wrote one...so I don't really hate it, just annoya me if it is the typical story...I hope you know what I mean...

4. OMFG! Stealers! I hate them, especially if it is one of my plots, it tends to be one of my classmates because they are the first to read my plots then claim it as theirs...it is so annoying!

5. MPREG...i find it gross, not to offend anyone..really...

6. Mary-sues, Gary-stus...but I haven't read much of that yet.

7. A big block of paragraph for a single chapter. It's hard to read...especially if it doesn't have periods...man, who'll try to read that?!

8. Grammar and spelling, but it doesn't bother me that much, I try to ignore it.

9. ANs in the middle of the story...it breaks the story, really.

10. People who threatens others not to post another chapter if they cannot have as many as they wanted in a chapter.

11. Crossovers...I don't know, I just don't read them.

12. Characters automatically falling in love with each other...but not really if it is a one-shot. I hope you know what I mean.

13. Using of japanese sentences...I just don't like them.

14. A chapter just full of lemon!

15. Over description of unimportant things. It just wastes my time.

16. A chapter full of paragraph and no dialogs (hey, did I spell that correctly or should it be dialogues?)

17. Story without depth or sense.

18. Rush on stories

19. Too short chapter that it shouldn't be called a chapter!

20. Multi-chaptered fiction that reaches up to 30 or more! I cannot stand to read those fics...I fall asleep..hehehehe

21. Cliche descriptions..but not really annoying...it's just overused and I want something new. But I admit, I used some cliche things before, I'm trying to take it off and make it simple like green eyes only...hehehe

Uhmm... I think this is too many already...

But I do admit that I did some of the things I hated...

I also hate lemons! They are so gross! I also hate it when people use pretty much all Dialogue and no detail, it makes the story sound crappy.

i like well written lemons, but i've seen some nasty ones. those kinda lemons are only three sentences long, just sick, rushed, etc.

See I like romance fics. But when they make it too sexual or some thing around those where abouts, it makes me feel like throwing up.

i don't really bug the author for in character writing; cuz, if you think about it, that's the hardest part of writing. i mean, for me personally, that is really the only problem i have. thinking about that character and thinking what that character would do is pretty difficult. so yeah.

Yes but you need to let them be aware that they have made the character(s) out of character. If not then they shall never improve.

I agree to Yori Uzumaki-san that you should aware them about their OOC character because if they will make them OOC, for my opinion, then they'll just be writing under the name of that character and not really who that character is...

Readers read fanfics to see their fave characters in a different story or to a story they favor, but if the character they like will be too OOC, of course it'll disappoint them, right?

Exactly! I read NaruSaku because for all we know, they may never have kids, we may never get to see them get married or anything and that's what the fanfics are for. And if they are poorly written it makes your eyes burn.

I don't mind OOCness either if there is a basis for the change. However, the more out of character, the solid the explanation must be. There must be a good reason for the deviation, otherwise its nothing more than a new character with the same name. I dislike where Naruto suddenly to become ultra serious or brooding like Sasuke, with no reason for the change.

Personally, I don't care for dark Naruto, regardless of whether the explanation is convincing or not. One of the things I like about his character is that despite all he went through, he isn't that way. To make him dark, takes that unique aspect away from him. I admit I have liked a couple of these, but it usually where Naruto is more of a cynic that evil per se. In addition, the fic usually has me hooked from some reason that is sufficient to override my dislike of dark naruto.

A crying Sasuke? That's a real tough sell given how Kishimoto has designed his character. You'd really have work hard to make that work out. Never seen an author successfully pull that off, though I suppose it could be done under the right circumstances. Besides, I like Kishmoto's Sasuke, so I'm not much of a fan of a weepy Sasuke.

Though my question Monkey, is why is it wrong (at least in the way you mean)? Obviously, it extreme OOC and its just not Sasuke, but what about evil Naruto? That's completely contradictory to Kishimoto's Naruto as well.

And Yori, I generally dislike those too, unless the fic is a drabble or something like that. I was thrilled when I learned FF.net banned script fics (is that ban still in place?). Those drove me crazy.

Anyway, I agree with you. Most writers doesn't want to be corrected because I think they think that the reviewers are hurting their pride! hahaha...Or maybe because they mainly wanted it to be OOC and they think their fic is good enough. An the bad thing is, sometimes, they start a fight because of it. But some are sensible enough to realize their mistakes! And that writer surely rocks!

Because an author writes for his/her readers and they should make sure that their readers are having fun with their masterpiece! Because I believe that the writers should not be the only one who are having fun with their stories, the main focus is the readers. But if the writer is the only one having a good time with his/her work then better not share his/her work...I think it'll be a waste of time...

Yup! Script fics are still banned...that's why I never tried it though I am tempted...

But some writers still do it and their stories aren't deleted because the readers doesn't report it. It's just a game of luck...I f the readers liked it, of course they won't report it to the admins!

I also hate it when they make Naruto really dumb in their fics...It's really annoying. And then everyone will call him an idiot and Naruto will just laugh it off like it didn't hurt him...Like it's natural that he's an idiot, I can't t stand it!

A weeping Sasuke would be a change too. But their reason should be super strong to make him cry...What about Sakura dumping him for Naruto? Nah...hahahaha

OOCness rocks in parody! really amusing...and CRACK! fics too!
