My goodness... I really cannot stand people who get the characters all wrong!
Yes, Sakura was blind but she is NOT stupid! She would never run off to find Sasuke! She knows the difference between right and wrong! While she knows Sasuke wants revenge, she doesn't even know WHO it is he wants to kill.
My goodness, some people are really deseperate. If NaruSaku happens, you can imagine the NaruHinas screeching blue murder.
I strongly believe that when she sees the battered body of Naruto, Sakura will be hit with the reality. Sasuke isn't the guy she thought she was in love with. I can easily see her finding out about the Henge (if she hasn't already), and realising that the warm person she loved was Naruto.

Agreed, Smiter. I'm wondering if much of Sakura's crush on Sasuke was the Henge incident. Do you think one reason that she's still holding onto him is because she remembers that? You never know.

bah I just don't that at all though.
I mean why would Naruto turn to HINATA for comfort especially her being the FIRST person. I mean he doesn't even know her. He wouldn't go flying into Hinata's arms to be comforted he'd jump into Sakura's... or Iruka's
After all Iruka is like a father to Naruto. It'd be like a family moment or something.
Then again if Iruka is more like an older brother than Jiraiya would be Naruto's father figure.

I can see Naruto having a family like that! Tsunade and Jiraiya as parents/grandparents and Iruka as the father.I agree with your views, Aethos. Too many writers just suddenly change relationships without any explanation (I'm not counting far future fics which actually give time for change and uses flashbacks to explain) in order to fit their ideas of pairings and situations.
Looking at the current manga, right now, it would be Sakura, Iruka, Jiraiya, Kakashi or even Tsunade that Naruto would seek out if he wanted someone to confide in. He knows too little about Hinata.
But I am OK for change IF they show why the relationships changed the way they did. For example, saying that Sakura blamed Naruto and he couldn't take it anymore and their friendship fell apart, he feels alone, and Hinata is worried. She goes up to him to check. He pushes her away at first, but they slowly build up a friendship over time, with Hinata helping him trust again. You could show Sakura having regrets later as she watches them go out and about.
That sounds a lot more solid than just simply having him run into her arms. Relationships take time, they don't simply happen.
I'm sure that they'll start to see how things really are as the manga goes on.
(Yeah, and Oro will quit being a bad guy and set up an eyeshadow stall in Konoha)

I'll be really surprised if something N***H*** does happen in the manga. I doubt Hinata's feelings are even half as important as Sakura's feeling right now.

The worst is that anyone's would have worked for her I'm sure. She just took him as an example of perseverance (which he is) and thought it was love. N***H***fans tend to read too much into these feelings. The same 'could'be said about Naruto when you think about it but at the very least he gets to know Sakura, not just lay into the background. There may be no relationship YET but it's coming, wether people acknoledge it or not!

Ahh, that was refreshing.
I hadn't had a debate for such a long time! I couldn't resist diving into the pairings thread in the anime section at NF.
There are still a couple of SasuSaku fans in there. Sakura_chan, nice lady, is STILL sticking to her guns despite being a manga reader. Oh well... (Her username is a bit ironic, because only Naruto calls Sakura that!)
I posted up a quick summary of the relationships without spoiling any moments the anime hasn't touched yet. I'm expecting the NHs and SSs to refute what I said, but I guess they will defend their pairings just like we do ours.
I'm just hoping to swing the undecideds.
I even showed the Ranma/Akane relationship as an example of how Naruto and Sakura have a similar tough love between them.
NaruSaku has GOT to be coming! If people don't like it, that's their problem. It's the only relationship that has real build up, and if it didn't happen then Kishimoto would have wasted a lot of pages and ink.
I can't wait to see what happens when Naruto and Sakura are FINALLY reunited. If we're lucky, we might have a picture to show we're being proven right.
I'm not expecting a kiss, but a tender hug would be really, really, cool.

A ramen Sake cannon? more modifications to our canons! I'm launching a missile made of Prunus serotina (botanical name of american black cherry) at the ennemy, did I mention the fragmentation Naruto (the paste) war head? This way we can match with their weaponry and have a bit more ammo!, next I'm working on torpedos, anyone knows what they could launch?

What does it matter if Hinata is "sweet?" If that's the only reason why she should be with Naruto it's a pretty sad reason if you ask me. :rolleyes:
I mean come on you're giving Hinata far too much credit especially since she's just a side character. Why should she be the only one who has a chance with Naruto? Because she's NICE because she's NOT a Sasuke fangirl? I mean come on saying that a coupling will happen when ONE of the characters is just a minor side character who has no importance to the future of the plot.

It just won't happen and if it does then Hinata had better get a better role in the story then which I doubt will happen since Naruto revolves around Team 7.

Yet in most fanfics and throughout the anime and manga she can't help but stutter all the time when she's around him. If THAT's what their relationship will be like then I'm sorry Naruto deserves far better than someone who sounds like they have a speech impediment.
I mean seriously what if Hinata had been a Sasuke fan girl too? I mean is that another reason as to why everyone supposedly believes Hinata is superior? I mean for goodness sakes they're 13. I'm not even expecting them to find their soul mates so early but for all we know if there is a time skip Hinata's feelings for Naruto might have changed and she may be into someone else by then. Heck I know I support NaruSaku but I see Naruto and Sakura having a long friendship before even think of actually going out and yet most N***H*** fans expect Naruto just to dump Sakura instantly (as if he'd ever do that because of his stubborness) and run into the arms of someone he barely even knows?
I mean if N***H*** is just another way of venting hate for Sakura also that sort of pisses me off as well. Because Sakura DOES deserve someone like Naruto. Sure they can claim that she can go off with Lee or Sasuke but come on it's more likely that TenTen will be with Lee in the end and it's more likely that Sasuke will stay alone all his life before he even thinks about ever being with Sakura.
So then if Lee is good enough for Sakura why isn't Naruto? Why isn't Sakura good enough for him? Sure she's treated him mean throughout the course of the manga but hasn't every anime heroine done that? What makes Hinata so damn special. If anything she's the WORST choice for Naruto.

I know the feeling, Aethos. It's a bit similar with Inuyasha.
Nearly all Inuyasha/Kagome fans treat Inuyasha like some form of evil person who doesn't deserve Kagome's love, and that she's a saint for putting up with him.
The only people seemingly willing to shed light on Kagome's faults are people like the Inuyasha/Sango fans (And the Inuyasha/Kouga and Inuyasha/Sesshoumaru fans, but they're just in it for the mansex).
Sigh... I tried bringing up Kagome's faults on a message board (One full of intelligent people) and I got it thrown in my face with all sorts of pro-Kagome rants. And when I mentioned my hatred of the rosary, they kept saying this...
'Well, he was basically asking for a relationship that hurts!'
It must be the same with Naruto. Sakura is treated as this EVIL, HEARTLESS b*tch, and Hinata is seen as this perfect little woman who deserves Naruto's undying love.
