And, for the record, I haven't touched the thing in about three weeks -- or done any other writing of fiction, fanfic or otherwise, since I finished the prep-to-send-out for my original fantasy novel. Too busy with 'real' work, plus I took a few days off about two weeks ago to visit my uncle and cousins down in Newport News (Va., USA).
So, how much longer? Well... (American) Football season is about to start, and I think a pretty decent-sized portion of the early writing for this fic was done during the LAST football season while also 'watching' (i.e., leaving the TV on for the noise, in most cases) the games. So, maybe I'll be able to get back to work on it doing the same thing pretty soon.
And, um, also for the record, I'd have to say that this fic is FAR from professional quality. Even edited for grammar flubs (both honest flubs and those caused by my dyslexia -- the later requiring someone to help me, since I honestly can't see the errors unless they're pointed out. And sometimes, it's not even just the spelling, but switched names, wrong genders, confused homonyms, etc. Some of my volunteer editors for the professional book have pointed out a LOT of things I never saw, and one of them who had knowledge of the matter was clearly able to tell I had dyslexia from my writing alone. I've never been 'officially' diagnosed, but I've long known I had a problem, and this has confirmed it... and told me a lot more about what problems it's causing for my writing), and even if there were a publisher for Naruto fanfiction, I wouldn't submit it until I worked out a few flaws in it, such as it dragging on too much in the middle and so forth. Having actually gone through (and COMPLETING, Thank God) the process of writing something larger tham a short story to submit professionally, I'm pretty certain of my diagnosis that this fic is merely 'better then average, but not even close to professional quality.'
(And, for those of you who were part of my volunteer editorial team who frequent these forums, I never did figure out a good title for my original fantasy novel, so I can't tell you what to look for until the Publisher buys it and helps me pick one -- the current working title is unlikely to stand).
(Edited to avoid confusion due to the international membership here on the forums... and some slight grammar fixes)
You haven't experienced the full cofusion of modern gender relations until you've heard an angry group of women yelling, "We want tentacles!" at an all-night Hentai-fest.

However Naruto having a half-brother confuses me. Does that mean Anko has another baby with . . . someone else?

I'm also toying with a Full Metal Panic fanfic idea, but I'm trying to NOT get started on that one. I've got enough writing -- original fiction and fanfiction -- to keep me busy for the rest of my life without it, even if Training were complete. Still, I keep thinking about it more and more, and it might be the only way to get it out of my system is to actually write the damned thing....

Let light be our guide towards victory
Whenever there's despair there's a darkness, whenever there's hope there's a light and it's up to us to bring in that light.
