It's arguably the death of Sakura arc.People really hated Sakura from that chapter, not only because of the confession, but how also how she handled the situation with her teammates and everything. It wasn't a good Arc for her, so maybe they manage to convince Kishi how much of a better Heroine Hinata is.

Kishi Made Us Hate Sakura? What do you think

IMO, ff that Arc hadn't exist for Sakura (if she just didn't show up that arc), it would have at least decreased 1/3 of the hate she received before she was dropped.

'Course he tried to. Pity for him that I'd much rather stop reading Naruto altogether and read only Sakura-centric fics.
Tho I'm still baffled that given how much hate Sakura gets for behaving like a stupid teenager with a unhealthy crush (like, hello Bella Swan and a good solid half of young adult literature), Hinata-the-professional-stalker and I-dont-care-about-my-clan-only-Naruto is praised to hell and back. I guess the fandom is what the fandom is.

But they were all of them deceived, for another canon was made. In the land of Japan, in the fires of Studio Pierrot, the dark Lord Kishimoto forged in secret a master canon, to control all others, and into this canon, he poured his cruelty, his malice, and his will to dominate all life. One canon to rule them all.

I know whatcha mean. =/It is really sad how Sakura got all the hate and just for being human, yet when Hinata does something insignificant, she is praised as an angel. :(

2010? That was the start of the war arc at the very least. let me check... Wow 2010 was the end of the Kage meeting arc when Sasuke was fighting Danzo and continued to the start of the war arc. So yes this guy depending what he was doing. He could have had a large effect on kishi. Especially since this was around the time people were complaining about Sakura's "false confession."
And it was no secret that the assistant suggested to Kishi that Hinata is more like a heroine than Sakura and his hate on Sakura on twitter. Either Kishi was brainwashed or he sold himself to the devil because he stop caring for this series long ago and just wanted out, which means he was deliberately taking the full brunt of the backlash away from his assistant with his contradicting interviews.

At least initially, Sakura was growing out of her unhealthy crush. Hinata only further immersed herself in hers, not even trying to look at anyone else. She's clearly the type who would probably kill herself if Naruto rejected her because she made her entire life solely about him.

The assistant maybe the biggest nh fan, but the ending and pairing decision is still in the hand of kishi.
Kishi failed her.
@bryon
That's because Hinata is more likeable than sakura and her character rarely appear make her rather smal flaw.
Sakura character need development, since kishi make her dislikeable from the start of manga.

I'm going with the idea of the pedophile and the editors working together and showing kishi those nH reviews, and constantly suggesting Hinata focused ideas. This drained kishi over the five years and he wanted out after the war arc by Sp and SJ wanted it to continue. The pedophile stepped up and offered to do the sequel if the pairing was nH. Probably sold kishi on that he had a lot of ideas for that story. And we know the rest.
As for kishi have to take the backlash for it throughout the entire year. They had to make it seem like it was kishi's decision and choice to do the ending as it was. If it was found out that it happened because the pedophile was going to do the sequel and the only way he would do it was if the ending was nH. It would have destoried the spin off before it was even announced.

We can actually blame it on this guy. Since kishi was still going for that like but we can easily see where the pedophile screwed him over. The panel where hinata was like "I'm going to stop chasing after you naruto" signifying that she was going to stop trying to pursue a romantic relationship. Then she goes on and on about doing thing like holding hands.

Kishi wanted out. Companies didn't want Naruto to end. Pedophile step in but wanted nH.

Kishi had many opportunities to absolve his mistakes or at least man up and declare he messed up but he never does and thats what disappoints me the most sometimes. Bad writing is simply bad writing, it doesnt matter if you dont like a certain character or if you want to ship something etc, the moment you start slacking on your skills as a writer is the moment people will start hating on your work and with good reasoning too. If he was pushed into doing something he didnt want to the least he could have done is just given us a straight answer about it, even so if he was forced into doing this the people pushing for this wouldve been asking for trouble considering how much crap they got. Business would want to appeal more to the fans liking ( Fanservice) and if they were in any way smart they wouldve seen how negative the reviews were of their treatment of sakura early on, not to mention the confusion brought on by the red herring tactic Kishi tried. No business would commit to something like that just because its something they like, if they wanted to keep the money coming in they wouldve continued teasing with fanservice and would try and avoid an ending like the last that ties everyone down. In my opinion there is a lot of shadiness with how this series ended and it saddens me to know that fans dont get an answer to why it ended the way it did,

It wasn't even just excuses being done, but outright insulting not only the disappointed NS fans (which was much bigger than those around Kishi claimed to him), but also the neutral/logical fans like myself who could clearly see how NS was developing while NH was non-existent by comparison, by saying people like me "read the manga wrong". Clearly, Kishi and the NH fandom have no clue what a red herring even is...
"something, especially a clue, that is or is intended to be misleading or distracting"
...the amount of development and parallels NS had gotten was far from a mere "distraction", much less "misleading". If anything, it's what those few (selfish) NH moments were.

He failed her because he gave up and stop caring and left it up to his staff, SP and WSJ to do whatever they want with the franchise because he's sick and tire of it.

Even if he end naruto with NS, wsj and sp will still make a continuation story.

And then someone will take over the continuation story.
I agree that he's tired with naruto.

The thing you have with NS is that is "not forced", so it would have been a good franchise to milk just like Star Wars. Except we have this kitten ending that turned this franchise into someones toilet paper.

Exactly, this isn't about parings, this is about something I've invested in that is clearly insulting my intelligence. I didn't even care much for NS until shippuden when the dynamic was constantly focused on and developed while Hinata was barely even there. How can we have read that wrong when he didn't write anything for Hinata to even suggest she was in the same stratosphere as Sakura?
