Kinda. Say I'm Toriyama and you're the anime team; I'd come up with the story and I give it to you to animate however you see fit. Example: Say I plan a story where Goku and Gohan come face to face with an intergalactic Mafia-like group and I plan for Goku and Gohan to go into space to defeat them. That's the basic structure, but it's up to you how the story plays out to reach that end point. You can have Gohan defeat more people in the group than Goku if you want. As long as you hit all the key points I plan out, you're free to go about it as you wish.

I asked because I checked the manga and saw that there's quite a difference between it and the anime.

yeah although that's always been the case with manga and anime adaptations. the anime expands on manga events or there are slight differences

In the most recent chapter of the manga. It is explain that the reason black goku is attacking trucks' time-line. Is because the Supreme Kai died fighting with Truck against Babidi which killed that time line's Beerus as well. Then it is implied that they then went around killing all the other Supreme Kai of the different universes so no one could stop them.

 

This wasn't even mentioned in the anime so their are some differences between the anime and the manga. Though from what I understand the anime is consider the canon version.

 

About this weeks episode which is what i really was going to talk about. I suspect that Black Goku is the Supreme Kai of universe 10. Who went mad after his apprentices death and decided to enact the plan that the main characters explained to him and his apprentice Zamasu. He wished to revived Zamasu with an immortal body and transform himself in Black Goku using the Super Dragon Balls.

welp I called it, I was half right, my prediction was that goku black was zamasu and that he fused with future goku's dead body, I was right about it being zamasu in goku's body at least xD

But wow they fooled us twice, amazing writing, puts naruto to shame more and more as it goes on xD
