Shocked about Reiji's English VA.  The circumstances behind her death are unnerving to consider.  May she rest in peace.

 

Anyway, I finally caught up to recent episodes.  Shin's cardfight episode was easily the highlight.   Latest episode had me laughing at the United Sanctuary fighters "winning means everything" attitude, with some even going into a madness mantra.  The moral is pretty straightforward, "Don't pursue victory to the point you stop having fun."  It's just how those fighters and the staff of the branch itself (to the point of having security guards guide the defeated out) take Cardfight as serious business up to eleven  that you can't help but laugh at the sheer ridiculousness.

There are seven seasons currently planned, so this isn't surprising.  That means the current season is close to ending?  Nice that they are introducing more female characters.  Nothing against Tokoha, but she alone is not enough to represent the new generation of female cardfighters.

I just started watching Vanguard last year so I didn't know the 7 seasons plan. If you're talking about the main female lead, I have to agree. If you're talking about in general, I have to disagree since Kumi, Saya, and Rin are also the female representatives of the new generation cardfighters. It's good that they'll produce more female characters but they should also produce new male characters. Well, the current season has reached its climax since Team Try3 lost to Team Demise. Maybe we'll get about 40+ or 50+ episodes.

 

According to Chrono's seiyuu, GIRS (ギアース pronunciation: giasu) is the correct romanization, not GEARS or GIAS. So Cardfight!! Vanguard G: GIRS Crisis is the title for the next season.

I'm just talking about Tokoha.  As the main female lead, she carries a lot of the weight.  Kumi barely fights since she uses OTT, that Tsuneto also uses, and he gets more screentime.  Saya is not a regular, and we don't get to see a full fight with her.  Rin's personality doesn't win a lot of fans' hearts, and her purpose is to be defeated by Tokoha.  As a result, a lot of attention is going to be on Tokoha, but she barely has any important fights to grow from.
