Naruto will always be the underdog of sasuke in this manga.Well done sage of six paths for providing sasuke with everything.RENAME THIS MANGA TO SASUKE,should have done that long ago.Everything works in favour and is created of that a****** sasuke.Only in this manga u'll see characters like sasuke gets what he doesnt deserve and can't possibly attain.

All together Great Morals,Great messages,Great Story.

When and how did i ever start reading this garbage.

I could say that I disliked this chapter, but this panel kinda gave me something to reflect.

2hg4h0l.png

I mean, this line of Sasuke cut Naruto so deep. And it cut me too. Even though we saw Naruto use this jutsu to keep himself company, I have never realized how symbolic Kage bunshin was.

And DAMN, we've come so far, we've seen Naruto being accepted by the village and respected by his friends, is he still so very lonely??

I'll tell you the truth, guys. That moment, when I saw that panel, I just wanted to throw Sakura at Naruto. Just reach through the screen, take her unconcious body and throw it at him. I know this image may offend Sakura-supporters, because she is not an object, of course. I'm her supporter too, but DAMN I am so tired of her not being there for Naruto 100 percent. Yes, she is somewhat there, somewhat caring, but in this second part of Part 2... I am so tired of Naruto feeling lonely. I mean, I am not angry at Naruto's character, I am angry at Kishi for not giving this guy something solid and warm to hold on to.

Geez, be it Sasuke or Sakura or Hinata, just no more loneliness, please, Kishi.

No, this is completely wrong. Sasuke doesn't have a clue as usual.

The clone jutsu was Naruto's greatest weakness while at the academy. There was once a time when Naruto couldn't create a simple clone jutsu to save his life. He failed the graduation test twice because of his inability to perform the jutsu properly. He used to be mocked because of this.

Do you remember Naruto's words to Neji after he defeated him in the Chuunin exams? Neji was under the impression that losers will always be losers. Naruto defeats Neji using his shadow clone jutsu and says- " You know, there was once a time when the shadow clone jutsu was my greatest weakness. If I believed in your destiny idea, I would have given up long ago. But I never gave up and worked hard. Now this jutsu has become my greatest strength."

The Kage Bunshin has NOTHING to do with loneliness. It symbolizes Naruto's never-give up ninja way.

Kishimoto, you have let down hardcore NaruSasu bromance fans such as myself  :hm:

Me too. I mean, I was hyped for this fight. I loved how it began in chapter 694 when they talked. They made such strong statements. It felt like everything has fallen in its place. There was nothing left but pure conflict of ideology and bonds between the two. Naruto looked like he was ready to unleash everything he gathered during all this time of chasing Sasuke. Not only power, but his thoughts, his understanding, his feelings. It felt like he knew the answer finally. Remember his determination in the land of Iron and in 692? Damn he looked like he knew exactly what he had to say and do to finally reach Sasuke's heart.

And what now? The fight has started and he acts like he knows nothing, like he is trying to figure it out as he goes. Sasuke is extremely confident, for three chapters he has a solid upper hand when Naruto throws feelings and arguments at him. I don't see pretty much any doubt in Sasuke's face (and it is 3 chapters before the end!!!!!), while Naruto is still doubting his approach and advancing somewhat defensively.

I've said before that I don't see time to develop NS in these last chapters, now I don't even see time to believably resolve conflict with Sasuke. Right now I don't see any cracks in Sasuke that can be used against him. He should have shown them by now. But he is determined and has an answer for anything. He even accepts Naruto's feelings, saying those are an actual reason to kill him.

I mean, I don't know what to expect any more.

what is Sasuke's currently state right now that is preventing Naruto to defeat him? He is still same Sasuke for me. When will be the right time that you will defeat him Naruto? Maybe that is why this fight is never interesting at all because Naruto's love is holding back his power against Sasuke. Now, the title makes sense. atleast for me.

I don't see how it can't be both. The man is not meant to pursue happiness, but it is man's duty to be strong - those are Jiraya's words. Naruto has transformed his loneliness into a source of strength. Kage bunshin is both manifestation of his loneliness and his most powerful technique.

Without a commong enemy for Sasuke and Naruto, it makes it awfully hard to expect Sasuke to get some big last minute salvation through a good deed.

And Sasuke's speech about operating in darkness only rings of Danzo and ROOT, not the *cue batman voice* 'I'm the Avenger. I walk in the shadows,' type thing.

I'm pretty sure the flashback of Sakura and Ino watching the fight was taken from earlier in the manga. I remember that scene, with Sakura noticeably being concerned, not cheering Sasuke on. (It'd be interesting to see if it's the identical panel. If it is identical, then it sucks that Kishi is recycling material in the last four chapters instead of illustrating new material that shows us some bit of new information.)

Sasuke's forgetting that no one likes him except Naruto (and Sakura). They'll never accept him as some peaceful leader. He's only interested in being a dictator. And they only rule through their own particular brand of peace: You do everything I saw, then we'll have peace.

I have a feeling whatever Naruto thinks he's got planned it isn't going to work this time. His TnJ is already going down in flames.

'Naruto has transformed his loneliness into a source of strength.' - What?! This is not true

Naruto nearly gave up on life because of the pain of loneliness. He says so himself, to Sasuke, in the Kage arc. Iruka and Team Seven helped Naruto to lose his loneliness. They gave him hope. Why do you think Naruto values Sasuke so much?

Loneliness does NOT give Naruto his strength. Iruka, Team Seven--Bonds that he shares and cherishes give him his strength.

Exactly. The combat scenarios back in Part 1 were more grounded with a plethora of different styles at different ranges used; there was no certainty given in advance for who would win because the advantage continued to see-saw with Sasuke mastering his Sharingan and Naruto pursuing depths of the Kyuubi's power as his desperation to stop Sasuke increased. On the other hand, you can summarise this rematch down to chakra monstrosities clashing with each other. It doesn't have that raw, back-to-basics element that the original fight retained, despite the growing powers.

I agree with you 100%. It looks very shallow now. It is somewhat expected, especially since Kishi has "a deadline", but the truth is that those layers of complexity have been dissapearing from the story for quite a while now. There were rules before, there was equipment, there was actual strategy and advanced melee combat before. I've reread  Sasori vs Sakura and Sasuke vs Itachi fights recently and I was astonished with how much better those were than current fights. And those were not even the best fights, they pale in comparison to some of the part 1 matches. Those were the good times when characters had so few power-ups that they had to use their wits and understanding of shinobi rules of combat to survive.

It was taken from earlier in the manga, people are speculating whether it has any pairing significance for that panel to be brought up again.

But he doesn't want to be liked. He wants to be hated by everyone so everyone will have a common enemy to hate, rather than hating each other.

I have a feeling whatever Naruto thinks he's got planned it isn't going to work this time. His TnJ is already going down in flames.

The end of this chapter seemed to show Naruto did resonate with Sasuke - not the usual talk about understanding each other, but also the part about just wanting to beat him.

Loneliness does NOT give Naruto his strength. Iruka, Team Seven--Bonds that he shares and cherishes give him his strength.

On the contrary, loneliness was what gave him the ability to empathize with his enemies so well. It is the source of his TnJ, so to speak. The idea of "loneliness" and "overcoming loneliness" is just conflated into one in this context.

I know most of y'all didn't like the chapter because we are on a timeline till the end but c'mooooooooooon some little part of you guys had to enjoy the action in the chapter!!! I felt like a kid reading the damn chapter saying "WHOOOOOOOOA!!! That Was Awesooooooone!!!!!" :D lol be optimistic about a little bit jeez O_o

On serious note when reading this chapter 2 ideas popped into my head of how the last few chapters would go down....

1: first off being NS (It's A Given, C'mon!!). Since the start of the series we have known Sakura to have cheered for Sasuke and expected him to win in every fight he has been in. And more down in the series with her development with Naruto has came to possess this same expectations and cheering for him as well. But in all the times that Naruto and Sasuke have fought each other seriously (no BS, funny jokes, or what not) Sakura has never picked a Side to who would be better, to be more in the right, and to the one who she truly thinks is the better of them. Now with all the development, how the story has gone through, how Naruto and Sasuke both displayed their individualistic beliefs......it is God Sent GIVEN who Sakura will side with in this conflict and a story like this it HAS to be shown for her character to do something along these lines!! People aren't gonna like that because it would seem Sakura to be nothing more then a cheering and supporting role rather then a badass that they expect of her........but you know what SCREW all that and ENJOY what you get because a NS moment is incoming AND IT AINT GONNA DEGRADE OR BELITTLE SAKURAS CHARACTER AT ALL!!! Don't get hyped of what you want out of her character and just enjoy the good female character for who she is!!!
(Sorry for the little rant at the end there :(.....just a little agitated is all)

2: the ending of the series........for some reason or other I had sudden chill that Kishi would go the same route his brother did with 666 Satan and it's ending. Like the last few pages would show of characters we may or may not know and tell someone of the story of Naruto and how he achieved his dream to become Hokage and it wouldn't even show any of the important characters as adults or any of their children. Just a unsatisfied ending like that..........god that suuuuuuuuuucked T_T lol

Anyway it was good chapter for me because it got me jumpy with power ups and what not and it gave me those childhood imagination going on in my head which is fun XD lol that all I got!!!

Naruto cherishes his bonds because he knows what loneliness is. He knows how much it hurts to be alone, so he does everything he can to protect those bonds. That is how he grows stronger.

He is desperate to bring Sasuke back, because he doesn't stand the thought of losing such an important bond and because he doesn't stand the thought of Sasuke being lonely again. Loneliness is hell in Naruto's mind.

Naruto never gave up, true, but I never said that. Naruto never gave up, that is exactly why his loneliness never destroyed him, it made him stronger. Naruto's character is all about his wish to be acknowledged. And the vision of Naruto alone on those swings is still the main symbolic picture of Naruto's pain. Loneliness is and forever will be one of Naruto's main defining characteristics, whether it is an actual loneliness or memory of it.

Right now I believe that Naruto is still somewhat lonely. We had the proof of it just recently.
