So....what exactly is gonna happen to the villages after this war?
will they split up again? Will they stay together? Will the Kage positions no longer be needed?
I think they will remain split. I mean each hidden village has its own culture and belongs to its own country. But I think relations will be a lot better.
I just see any of the countries saying, 'okay, lets get rid of our military might and be friends. I'll go first.'
Not to mention if they do get rid of the Hokage positions Naruto's goal will be lost... (unless they make a supreme hokage, which would be cool, but I don't think the different villages would be down for that). And there would be a lot of ninja's out of jobs...
It's obvious that he would die that's the 8th gate the fact that you think that he might not die because it's Naruto and there's rinnegan and currently a lot of techniques that permit someome to cheat death, he might die because of the technique but could be bought back with just one of the varius techniques that are capable of bringing someome back to life.
As example Sasuke got his heart pierced and is being bough back to life with Kabuto's snake and Sakura is keeping Naruto alive with her sorcery.
The current state of the manga shows that death is cheap. It's almost getting on the state where DBZ is.
IKR?! I mean its great to see all the old characters (especially Minato -fangirl squeel-) but seriously? Everyone and their cousin is coming back to life. It's just -sigh- a little too much now.

I kind of hope that Guy's flashback continues just so we can see if Kishi decides to give names to all those unfamiliar Hidden Mist Swordsmen. The ones who were Edo Tensei'd during Ninja World War 4 were definitely survivors of Dai's last stand.
Speaking of which, what if the name of Guy's father is actually "Die" instead of, well, "Dai"? My reasoning being that the fandom used to call Might Guy "Maito Gai" (Hell, many people still do that in the fandom in general, including this forum!) until an official handbook gave out Kishi's English spelling of the name.
If that were the case, then that would be one cruel yet fitting name considering how his first appearance in the manga is his last. Granted, Dai came first chronologically within the Narutoverse, but this chapter formally introduces him as an existing character who was previously thought as only the parent who obviously existed.

You know Might Dai sounds a lot like Might die

I skimmed through this chapter in the morning, I thought it was boring well it was not.
Never mind the slow phasing if I can enjoy the ride! I love the new character. It's Might Gai's father and his name is Might Dai.
Their moments were so touching, I feel like Kishi put his grief into his work. Remember that his own father just died.

Oh Gai, let your crimson leaves of Fall enrich and protect the budding leaves of the next Springtime of Youth.... From start to finish, always be at a climax!
Bonus points if you get the reference before opening the spoiler.

Great chapter.
It really gave Guy something new to his character, here we all are thinking he is clueless but in reality he just turns the other cheek when people make fun of him.
This chapter had lots of feels.
I am really happy Guy got a nice flashback before he dies.
Really guys complaining about this chapter because what no NS? Like get over it, this was a good chapter. Guy has been a Naruto character for years and he is dying so if Kishi wants to give him 15 pages of flashback let him.
NS? I don't know about the others but I will speak about myself.
And since I don't want to waste too much minutes since there are expensive, I will just copy paste.
Ever since Juubito came out of the closet he was attacked relentlessly by using..........yes, combinations. Hokage combinations, Sasuke/Naruto combinations, you know what happened.
Madara so far has been attacked one by one by Obito and Gai(not to mention Tobirama but that was before the transformation) with some token efforts from crippled Minato, Kakashi and Gaara.
Then they get back to comfortably watching while a guy is going in solo.
It just feels like the previous fights with Juubito were more competent, more....populated than what we see now.
since a long time I being waiting for some fight not a lot of flashback and talking, don't you agree.

I still think Gai is Rock lee's father but he's too irresponsible to come clean with it so he won't have to pay child support.

Impossible. Gai is 30. Rock Lee is 17. Besides, there are flashbacks of their first meeting, after the team was formed.
Gai still treats him as his own, I like that their bond is thick even if not blood-related.

Gai is obviously lying about his age to make himself seem more youthful

I think the konoha ninjas are kind of assholeish, i mean they are never shown doing something positive.
They are really really weak, cowards, talk trash about other people, wants to look superior, leaves people behind.
Srsly why Naruto hasnt destroyed that village.
People that manages to die with kyuubi chakra cloak and Sakura's healing jutsu talking about shinobi and wanting to look superior towards kids.
It's funny, on part 1, Kishi always talked about how Jounins and Anbus were badasses but they die so easily.

After sleeping on it, I have to say I do like this chapter. It's different and nice to see a little more depth to Gai and how at one point even he thought his own antics were ridiculous, but at the same time he knows that the willpower he has is unmatched. It is also nice to see someone whose life isn't all that tragic or should I say isn't all focused on tragedy.
Yeah his father died protecting him, but everything in his life was great and he enjoyed every minute of it. He took his inability to make ninjutsu and turned into into success.
I do agree that the flashback was a little longer than it needed to be, but it was still good. Little disappointed we have to wait to see Naruto again, but it is not unexpected nor am I that heartbroken about it.

I dare say Dai is the best dad in the entire Naruto series. Sorry MInato.

The Anbu are like the 'red-shirts' of Star Trek!
But I totally agree with you. The ninja's are kitten. I'll tell you what my one problem with that chapter was---> Those two ninja that Gai stood up to totally beat him up! A five year old! Not cool! Just because he threw a rock at them, for protecting his dad's nindo?! Gah!

Yeah that is why none of them told pain where Naruto was. Konoha has some bad people but they seem to be the nicest village.

That might explain why Naruto was so angry with Pein.
Not that he destroyed the village, but that he did it just before Naruto was going to.
(Now we know why he was working so hard to perfect the rasenshuriken.)

You have to give Minato credit, he never really got a chance to be a father for most of Naruto's life growing up. Dai at least been with his son for a good first 10-14 years of his life.
