So pretty much the only solution which could end his misery and allow him to escape prosecution is death by suicide?

Well do you think he can be alive and live as a free man after what he did?

Being in jail forever without doing something positive to redeem himself morally?

The only way for him to do something positive is either stopping Madara, but still wont erase the things he did so far, or using his edo rinne tensei to bring back the people who died on this battlefield just like Nagato.

His problem is the same as Sasuke but however he helped the alliance i'm more interested on seeing Sasuke's case rather than Obito's which i believe Obito will die.

Yeah, I was also pleased to see Obito getting angry. Naruto is taking a terrible personal risk with his TnJ, getting up close and personal with his nemesis. Glad to see the nemesis being in-character diabolical too by using a hand-shake to choke him. And glad to see Naruto fight back. He's such a scrapper.

However.... This really feels like Naruto's thing with Pain/Nagato. Naruto is coaxing him toward peace, but seriously...it's a peace that no one else is going to get behind. The rest of the villagers who were affected by Obito's murder spree aren't going to be welcoming him back. I realize it's a ruse to pull out the bijuu, but still, Naruto is offering him a peace he will never be able to deliver. Naruto's redemption can never be because all those shinobi behind him will beat him to a pulp. Obito's only redemption is in death. And Naruto has to know that.

So seeing the complexity of what's happening (on the surface it looks like TnJ, but it's really just hostage-situation empty promises) Naruto seems less the righteous saviour and more the planning leader, understanding that sometimes you have to manipulate for the greater good.

Lastly, although Obito's apparent psychosis is interesting, it falls right in line with the Uchiha's convenient bent towards being psychotic killers. It just doesn't engender any sympathy from me as it still feels like an excuse, when the guy committed genocide and murdered God-knows-how-many, including Naruto's father and mother (indirectly) and almost Naruto, himself. Just can't get there from here. Even though the Rin stuff is sweet/borderline-stalkerish and there's a parallel and all that, I just can't do it.

They are getting tired. Having a battle at that state would be weird and not lived up to the hype. It's best to wait. That and Orochimaru confirms that Sasuke is not yet there but once he is, he will be stronger than Madara. So, one last break before their final battle. Heck, even Minato's Kurama's chakra is draining, so why not wait until later. If fight, I will call Sasuke a loser to actually fight him in a weak state.

About the chapter, I think Rin may play a role next week. The last word in the cliffhanger was Rin, and now that Obito can't dream of her anymore I wouldn't be surprised that he finds himself a certain parallel. I want this to happen, because we're already halfway, it'll complete the triangle. No holes, just finish what has already begun. For the story, not for pairing evidence. Because honestly, what is there to prove anymore? :ermm: Obito should die soon anyway so it is now or never, unless Naruto thinks back of him when confessing to Sakura. The Bijuu got extraced from Obito, didn't know it was possible just by physically dragging it out, lol.

Btw, I really like the ObiNaru=NH jokes here. I actually think this is similar to 615. Why was Hinata's TnJ strengthened by "the power of love", but not this or any other TnJ's in the story? Why is this handholding less romantic? It only bolstered my belief that Kishi can write seemingly romantic scenes and make them friendly(even NS's date was said to be friendly), romance is hinted in other ways. Ex; blushes, tenderness, physical attraction, privacy>unity, fast-beating hearts. NS moments consists of all of these, and Kishi wants it to be noticed because they are emphazised with databooks, parallels, thirdparties and other reminders.

What I liked most about the chapter was Obito choking Naruto. Lol. His face was funny too, and I liked that the fight was a fist-to-fist type.

Nothing really new or special in this chapter, the whole thing pretty much played out as I was expecting. Kishi's kind of rehashing the same thing again, preaching about peace and bonds and glossing over the bigger issues, and despite his attempts to invoke sympathy I just can't feel sorry for Obito. I don't have much else to say, though I am glad there's not any direct parallel confirmation.

Chapter wasn't exactly great but there were some interesting parts...

The Good:

-Obito rejecting the TNJ[Finally a villain rejects the TNJ :boogie: ]

-Obito's screwed up mind panels

-Great plan by Naruto to remove the biju

The Bad:

-Obito looks like he is going to succumb to TNJ :headscratch:

-Really short chapter, despite the amount of flashbacks and inner mind workings

I wonder if that dude that said Sakura made a poopface in 630 will say the same now. Cuz now it looks like they all wanna poop. :excited:

Me too. :sweatdrop:

lol I was right, he literally said everybody gets a poopface. The best ones were definitely Sai and Hinata.

Is it just me or did this chapter feel short? It ended so quickly, like "That was it..?" We didn't get too much out of it, but I guess that'll be for next week. That's how cliffhangers work you know.. -_-

3rd week in a row...what is empowering me XD

More parallelism that's what... Rin and Sakura both have desires to see the knuckleheads in their lives accomplish their dreams. Even when crazy Obito still shows how madly in love he is with her. If death can't stop him, then nothing can. And since Naruto and him are both similar, that just shows how much Naruto truly cares for Sakura, regardless if he hasn't shown it recently.

"Oh but there was no one like Hinata in Obito's life"... My response to this age old and pretty redundant statement of which serves absolutely no value outside of showing how bad someone is at trying to debate, "Well obviously that person, if they existed or not, clearly was unimportant to make it into a back story... basically like Hinata, who serves little to no role outside of pairing fodder to spark wars."

Many people in Naruto's life has served the same role as Hinata's in 615. He has numerous times been tested like Obito, in fact his whole life has been a test. Shikamaru and Iruka has both TnJ'd him just like Hinata. While I think that matters, the only verbal evidence we have is what Naruto said to Gaara. "They saved me from turning out like you," he said, then flashbacks of Team 7+Iruka popped up. There is nothing from Hinata's 615 speech that implies she is his main saviour/soulmate. Until stated otherwise she's of no more importance than others, but simply joined a crowd of equal relevance.

Of course Naruto's love interest will stand out, kind of like Minato's companions were "Kushina and friends". I think Sakura's feelings/thoughts/actions for Naruto are exceptional, especially in the war(630 + more). But that's for another day. :P

By this point, hand holding in this universe or rather, this arc is established to be one of us/equality.

Definitely. I mean, when Naruto and Hinata held hands, everyone (including the NS fandom) flipped out because, well, it is hand holding. But the very next chapter, Naruto went and held hands with countless other shinobi, and now Obito, too. Of course the context varies, but now it seems that hand holding isn't all that special. It almost feels like Kishi is trying to tell us that, haha.

Lol. Well it's understandable the first impression gives us questionable feelings. However, it's all about the presentation and how it's presented. Sadly, expositions were against others to make sure it's a friendly term, further establishing that it's about equality and nothing should stop you. So yeah, value has changed a lot.

The only thing I think we should consider as romantic in the naruto world besides kissing would be hugs.

Well yeah, though it still needs the mood/atmosphere to deliver it. That's why NS hug is hard to ache for anti because it almost feel impossible to go around it. I am aware that they are not together, but I think this happened in another anime (starts with K and something with ghost) and the mood clearly shows it's love in the air. It's just matter of time.

Agree the same is in Sasuke case, even if he wants to bring Sasuke back, even his friends and even Sakura doesnt want him back and they dont trust him it's something Naruto has to know too.

I think Naruto will have a talk with his friends aswell.

@rocci.

Kishi only said "a showdown between Naruto and Sasuke is awaiting aswell" and then he start talking about what will happen next.

The next thing is the bijuus gathering together to beat the Juubi.

To be honest pretty lame the way Obito was defeated but I'm glad it's over, almost. Overall boring chapter but I liked the Gyuuki mini-me on his tail.

Which I've told you - time and time again - is dangerous! There will never be consensus, son, among those you have helped to ascend. They will all differ in their views of what it means to be free. The peace you so desperately seek does not exist.

These men are united now by a common cause. But when this battle is finished they will fall to fighting amongst themselves about how best to ensure control. In time it will lead to war. You will see.
