Hm? Sorry, but is Obito that short? The guy on the right side of Sakura is Obito right? He's the same height as Sakura and much shorter than Kakashi.

naruto-4526561.jpgEdit: Never mind. Maybe he wasn't able to grow up from the lack of milk.

Curious chapter, it's about time the fight with obito ended though I mean nearly a year since the fight started.

I loved how gaara got to pull shikakus power out while bee handled guyukis power.

Shikamarus plan came in at last, that little power can make the difference. Yes we didn't see sakura jump on but I'd suspect she did it offscreen considering all those other ninja were healed and moving. Tsunade too. Also saw that the cloak was a one time deal for those who helped in the unison strike last chapter.

Now for the chakra tug of war, before going into details, I predict that tailed beasts are going to be outside on their own, not sealed into anyone else or naruto or Sasuke. As for obito well he may be in a state like gaara, no longer having the beast but still it's power.

For the big scene we are talking about, naruto saw obitos past and rins death. Now the team 7 past will connect with team minatos. If naruto has a big talk down with obito next chapter, I would not be suprised if he mentions sakura and how he feels for her given what obito did with rin. It's possibly but not assured this will be mentioned but I feel it has a decent chance now that naruto saw rins death for himself.

Also the big scene with naruto and everyone else I that plane obito saw, well nice to see sakura there as well and around him. It was a nice picture of all the people from the story so far. But there is one thing I am perplexed at, ay is huge, I mean huge, bee was only like 6ft 5 in which is already very tall, but ay is practically over 7 feet! He's a giant.

Decent chapter, good setup for the biggest talk no jutsu ever save for the naruto vs Sasuke fight. Looks like its a possiblity for sakura=rin to occur next chapter or soon. Also Madara is around, remember after this things will quickly turn to crap and Madara will swoop on as he said.

I just read the chapter, and yeah looks like TnJ has began. There is a very high chance that Naruto will mention Sakura for Obito-Rin parallel.

Anyway, can anyone explain this panel to me? What is Naruto trying to say here?

Goodish chapter, I'm pretty disappointed in the way the chakra from the Bijuus was used, but at the same time I'm happy because this war ark is coming to an end hopefully. Also the talk no jutsu started a long time ago, from the moment Naruto and Tobi began to fight it started.

I just read the chapter, and after reading everyone's take on it here, i'll have to say that :

- It would be TOTALLY awkward for Naruto to talk about Hinata here, as someone seemed to fear. Team Minato (Kakashi/Rin/Obito) was always being paralled with team Kakashi (Sasuke/Sakura/Naruto), and since the very beginning of the manga. I think there is no one little chance that Naruto would talk about Hinata. The situation with her is not at all like Obi/Rin. Obi/Rin is Naru/Saku. If Kishimoto would do something that awkward, I would be shocked and I have to say that it would be denying all the previous 650 chapters, especially Naruto first Gen. But i really don't believe it at all.

- I don't really know if Naruto will talk about Sakura, because it would kill every hope from NaruHina fandom, and I don't think Kishimoto wants them to drop the manga already. LOL. But maybe i'm wrong, because as someone here said, I had never thought that Kishi would make Minato paralled Sakura with Kushina so.... maybe it can happen. I would love that. I want at least Naruto to talk about Rin. I want to see him empathise with Obito's suffering.

- I hope TnJ will be a little different that what it have always been. Like someone else said. I also would like it to fail at first. It would be interesting, but I doubt it will happen.

With the obvious Obi/Rin=N/S going on in this chapter, it makes sense now why Kishimoto had Naruto declare his affections, even in a joking manner to Minato. The Obi/Rin death scenes would not have made such an impact on Naruto if Naruto's feelings were still muddled between Hinata and Sakura. Obi/Rin and N/H just doesn't make sense at all. That's why Naruto had to make his feelings in some way known, even way back, so that the reader gets the parallel.

Naruto doesn't tear up for much, and the only reason he would do it here (over this memory) is because he sees it as himself and Sakura. He didn't tear up over Yahiko's death moment, did he? My point is that yeah, he gets that they were the same. I mean...really the same. Both wanted to be hokage, both had a precious person they wanted to protect.

The other interesting point is the switching out of Naruto and Obito in the line-up. Sakura is beside Naruto. So when Obito is switched, then yeah...Sakura becomes Obito's Rin. Couldn't be more obvious than that.

Really glad we didn't have gratuitous Hinata appearances muddling the storyline. Don't get me wrong, I don't think the pairing stuff is finished, by any means. But inserting it here would have really complicated the Team 7 and NS/ObiRin parallels.

Hmmm...and I don't know if there will be anymore outright ObiRin/NS connections. Kishimoto has passed over bigger opportunities before, where the groundwork was laid, the foreshadowing was there but nothing happened...so this might be the only relationship parallel Kishimoto brings up.

Lastly, I'm still not in Obito's camp. The dude killed Naruto's parents, Sasuke's parents, the whole Uchiha clan and countless others. And I liked the the kyuubi told Naruto to chill out when he was getting manipulated by Obito's memories. No matter if he saves 'poor wittle Obito,' Naruto can never bring back the people he killed. So I'm not in favor of a big pity party for him. Naruto's emotional response reflects well on his kind spirit...but Obito's still a mass-murdering sociopath.

Lol - Is it wrong that I find myself siding with the Kyuubi so often?

I shall define this chapter with a mere single word: progress. Finally. At least something is happening. No more charge attack and miss and lose hope and regain hope and try again with some talk in the middle.

Well then, now is pretty much guaranteed a TnJ next chapter. And knowing Naruto, he'll most likely use aspects of his own life in order to show Obito that the World is not only made of regrets and sorrow, that you can have friends who will support you and all that talk already overemphasized throughout the war.

But most importantly, there's no doubt in my head that Naruto will address Rin in the next (few) chapter. She is, after all, Obito's main reason and Naruto clearly see it from where he stands right now. Given Obito's stubbornness to accept his "own identity" and how their similarities were emphasized so far, it would be hard for Naruto to really create an impact on Obito's part without using an example of his own. And he already started it by stating how, just like Obito, he wanted to become Hokage. By the time the conversation gets into Obito's main reasons, it is just too hard to imagine Naruto not thinking or mentioning his own love interest.   :thumb:

It is really nice to know that after months of speculation, this may actually happen in the next chapter.

Even if the parallel is not directly brought up next chapter, I feel that the upcoming discussion between Naruto and Obito will eventually lead to him confessing to Sakura. Witnessing Obito's memories has helped him understand what could happen if he doesn't tell Sakura his feelings, and we know that Naruto doesn't want to have any regrets.

I actually like mangastreams translations and scans much better than mangapanda for this chapter. The only good part about mangapanda this week was that it was early. I mean like really? "Stop, don't come inside me" that translation tho.

Actually I want all of our predictions to be wrong because we make it too easy. Our predictions are simplistic and straightforward. Sakura gets stabbed, ObiRin parallel, bleh done.

I'd rather say the ObiRin parallel is too obvious instead of would make things easy. The parallel is pretty much confirmed already, the ones who don't see it is because they don't wanna see it. There's more than enough evidence to suggest it and what is left to do is speculate about how and if it will have a dedicated moment in the manga.

The Sakura getting stabbed part, I agree. I've never really supported that. Too much of a cliche, among other reasons.

I think it could be classified as an error, because all of them appeared to have 12 years old, but yet Sakura is with the seal and Naruto with his shippuuden clothes, very weird.

Also the ugly face Naruto got there, i think it's an error definitively.

It is as Naruto explained on the last page; basically, Obito hasn't let go of his past nor his dreams. He claims to have let go of his past; but that's just a mask to hide the truth. And Naruto has made it his mission to prove that to him.

Saw the front cover and I like it. Good, because I actually thought something negative. Lol. But I like it. It's simple way of saying, "Yes, 14 years. Remember them as kids? They sure came a long way."

In Obito's Hokage fantasy all kunoichi will be required to have long hair....... and tiny miniskirts.

Lol. But Rin has no long hair. Unless it's part of his wish. Lol. Tiny miniskirts. It reminds me of Roy from FMA.

That random guy is gonna become a meme, I can feel it.

I was somewhat thinking that. It almost remind me of the Hawk panel back when Sasuke decided to destroy Konoha.

Pretty much, it's time to talk to Obito, mano y mano. The thing about this chapter is that once he learned about Obito, now Naruto no longer got insane hate for him, but like Nagato, while he carries the grudge on him, he does see a "human" in him. Now, it's the battle of doubts and truth.

It's both actually. Sakura getting stabbed is clichè, writing clichès is easy, so one leads to another.

And yes, the parallel is so obvious it's ridicoulous. I don't get why this one is so hard to believe. It's not like this is the first time, you know? People don't protest on parallels unless it's about pairings, I think that's the rule. It's happened before(Kushi-Saku), people were like 'pff like that'll ever happen'.

As for obito well he may be in a state like gaara, no longer having the beast but still it's power.

Gaara still has his sand shield only because of his mom. a protective spell like harry and lily's lol. i once thought that naruto's going to have some sort of special curse/marking/gift like that from minato and kushina.. but i guess the only thing they left him is some bit of their chakra and half a kurama.

Srsly that you're complaining about clichè on Naruto, i mean really?

My complain is that Sakura's death or being stabbed is logically impossible to happen, she's virtually unreachable by Obito and she got so many strong healers at her side and Naruto's chakra protecting her.

And her seal even if Obito stabs her she wont die.

She would only die if Obito uses Kamehameha and yet there's the second hokage and Naruto's father watching the alliance's back with shushin no jutsu.
