So Rin's death anniversary wasn't on the same day Naruto's parents died? I thought people were saying that it was.

 

Well all the english manga sites have obito mention about rin, and only the chinese scans i read here have obito mention minato and kushina. i believe it's a mistranslation from chinese to english, and everybody here are skeptical about the chinese scans.

Kakashi was seen at her grave telling her about Minato's baby, so it could have been the same day. But he prob goes to her grave all the time but still a possibility.

I wonder too. It can only be broken by a jutsu more owerful than the barrier, in other words you have to break it. - or you can dispell it.

I understand small mistranslations, but how can you mistake names that are completely different? Do they have the same Kanji(probably not)?

I guess it look kind of similar, plus the original scans are quite small. I posted the chinese characters of minato and rin in page 4 of this thread i think.

I wonder what Naruto with both the Ying and Yang Chakra from Kurama is capable of doing...It's strange though that all this time Minato was in the second stage of the Bijuu mode yet it appears that the two have not formed a partnership like Naruto and Kurama have...unless all this time we have only been seeing Minato in the first stage of the Bijuu mode.and it only looked like the second stage because Minato's normal gear includes the long coat. Ofcourse it could just be that because Naruto formed a partnership with Kurama's half sealed in him that the other half was prepared to partner up with Minato.

 

I wonder what the plan is that Kurama has cooked up, maybe a use of the Ying and Yang Chakra? Or maybe mind link that will allow Naruto to use his fathers technique...next week should be good.

Actually, I thought Minato was in first stage and you may be confused because of his cloak. Remember, RKM changes all of you, and it so happens that he has a cloak to make it look like BM. If it was BM, his eyes would be different.

I kinda wish Rin and Kushinas deaths are on the same day but I accept the posdibility of mistranslation. Thou the fact that Mangapanda published it as Rin it kinda will stick like other midtranslations.
Now the thing is if Obito taunts him about his unrequited love and Naruto proclaims he loves Sakura then there isn't any more doubt. All that remains are Sakura's feelings but things can go like this.

Naruto stops that bijuudama tree somehow and then Rin comes into the equation. Now if kushina and rins deaths are related then Obito might try to discourage Naruto by killing Sakura.
But at the same time the RTN plot might come into play Sakura resolves her feelings in the dream world and maybe Obito will realise that he can bring Rin and be with her by letting Naruto and Sakura do this for them.

When Rin died, Obito was more young like we saw him when Kakashi killed Rin. They were still the same age since they thought Obito is dead, and Minato wasn't married yet probably. When Kushina died, Obito was much older. Minato and Kushina were married.

 

I think there's probably a mistranslation. Plus, their names in Kanji are very close and before Mangapanda translate the Chinese scans, it was Minato and Kushina and not Rin and Kushina which make the mistranslation even more probable.

Rin's name in chinese is 凜.. maybe the raws were too small and yeah it's somewhat similar, can see why they mistake 湊(minato) for 凜(rin).

 

*For those who want to google on their own you need to add a 火影忍者 (Naruto series) beside the character 凜 to see Rin Nohara, otherwise you'll just see another Rin Tohsaka from Fate/Stay night.

They're technically not kanji (Japanese-borrowed-Chinese), they're Chinese Chinese. As far as I'm aware, "Minato" and "Rin" doesn't have any official Japanese kanji, so it was really up to the scanlators' to decide which Chinese character to use for his name.

Oh that reminds me of something. I think 玲 (Líng) is in simplified chinese while 凜 (Lǐn) is in traditional chinese. 

 

There's this traditional chinese and simplified chinese writing system, so I guess that's what complicate things. No wonder I was so confused when I saw so many different chinese names for Kushina and Minato. (I normally read english scans)

 

In traditional chinese Uzumaki Naruto's name is 漩渦鳴人, Uzumaki Kushina's 漩渦九品, Namikaze Minato's 波風湊

In Simplified chinese Uzumaki Naruto's name is 漩涡鸣人, Uzumaki Kushina's 漩涡玖辛奈 / 漩涡奇奈  Namikaze Minato's 波风水门

 

If you see carefully traditional chinese is more complicated than simplified, like there's more strokes in a single character.

In the end, the jap. raws will tell us the truth. But I do think that reading the whole context, it's about Minato and Kushina's deaths as Naruto says that that was the day he was born. He is oblivious to who is Rin yet, so no sense for that. But I think that after this, will come the Rin part as well.

We had the Hokage, the family matter and guess which one is left? Yup, Rin's one ;)

I don't mind, in fact it kinda adds some symbolism from this battle to end 18 years after Obito's decent into darkness, Hell I wouldn't be surprised if it was reviled that Hashirama's and Madara's fight took place on October 10th some 80-90 years ago.

Oh okay. Still, Obito saying Rin to Naruto that she died on his birthday and he doesn't know her, doesn't fit there. Maybe it's really Rin in this context. Don't know. We'll see.
