Mind giving me a heads up on that rumor? I haven't been around for a while, so can somebody fill me in?

It's just a rumor from YouTube user base on assumption that there will be twist in eighth chapter of the tankobon.
And knowing how obirin parallel NS and kishi track record to make tnj base on similiarrity.

So with Naruto's birthday being the day after this battle, anyone hoping Sakura gives Naruto a nice gift?

 

Dear lord as corny as it sounds there is just too much being set up for a NS moment, I mean his birthday, come on, what is it suddenly going to be Hinata rushing in there?

 

This does pose an interesting question though, despite knowing the birthdays of the rookie 9, we don't know when the year of them being born actually started. What I mean is, while the dates are there for who was born, when did the year lapse begin for who was born first. Even though Shino was born on January 23rd and Hinata on December 27th, the exact year lapse of when they were born is not fully known. What I mean is, we saw Sasuke born before Naruto during the night of Naruto's birth. So in effect, what if Sasuke was the first born out of the rookie 9? In essence if this is true, then the youngest of the rookie 9 is likely to be Kiba being born in July. We know the birthdates but the lapse on which they were born is never stated so Shino could be the oldest and Hinata can be the youngest, but we don't know the full details of when the year lapse of when those born was. This lapse of time for who was born first and last, its enough of a range though that they all remain the same age. What makes this confusing is that either Naruto is about to be 16 or he will become 17 which begs the question, just how much time suddenly passed in the story? We know Our heroes were 15 when part 2 began, or rather 15 1/2 and turned 16 later on sometime after Orochimaru had to attempt to take over Sasuke due to his reincarnation technique. So for this sudden new age, its either that there are others who are a year older now or not.

A youtube user said before that NS will be canon in 645. It's too early to be canon, but maybe a huge a NS moment ? Cause NS moments can happen at anytime.

 

Hell, no. I don't see how Kishi can do that within two chapters. But at this point, with the way the man has been writing lately, who am I kidding? the way I see it, a cliffhanger regarding Sakura could happen that chapter.

And maybe you think this's crazy, but I think that in the next volume, the cover volume will consist naruto, sakura, obito, and rin. And maybe a NS flashback chapter.

That's such a geat idea   I mean, it's so blatantly obvious that sakura = rin. Kishi even drew a official artwork on team minato and team kakashi.

That is a good picture, though we see that Naruto and Kakashi are standing opposites even though Sasuke and Kakashi tend to be the parallels of being the opposite fate. Generally people tend to attribute the opposite fates of team minato for that of team 7, Obito being everything Naruto could have been if he gave into his hate eariler, Kakashi being what Sasuke should become a better person who learned the importance of others and seeing others like family, and Rin having learned too late about her feelings for Obito and Kakashi being the one who felt bad how he almost abandoned her, for Sakura its learning her feelings for Naruto and obviously living. What makes Sakura-Rin a bit harder to pin is mainly the events and how they turned out, its not as simple as say Naruto to Obito and Sasuke to Kakashi but the aspect of the team setup, Rin being a medical ninja, and having feelings for one who does not return them but another does on the same team, yeah thats the parallel right there. Sakura's main change is to realize this unlike Rin who it occurred too late.

 

However there are also similarities in the setup for Naruto-Kakashi and Sasuke-Obito. Generally by the mantle they chose to follow, the path they decided to run down. Kakashi is in a very similar situation like Naruto, a former friend doing so much evil and caused a lot of chaos. As the same for Sasuke and Obito who followed a path of chaos and revenge, Sasuke first on his brother then on the village. Obito first for Rin then on the world. As we see with the current situation though, Naruto is resolved to stop Obito while Sasuke has a different idea in mind unlike Obito which involves keeping the world alive (as no world means no plans at all) but he wants to change the system, by force if necessary.

 

But in line of these, as it stands:

I actually think Naruto = both Obito / Kakashi. Obito-Naruto because of his unrequited(which is changing) love for sakura and hokage dream, Kakashi-Naruto because Naruto strictly follows Kakashi (and kid Obito)'s words of "protecting / never giving up friends" part.

 

In fact he's Nagato/Yahiko as well. Nagato-Naruto because of the child of prophecy, Yahiko-Naruto because of their personality.(  weak reason haha, i'll edit this when i think more )

Jiraiya's list of regrets. That was also my turning point, at that point I began thinking that Kishi went in the NS direction. And then the hug happened, I was sold.

From how the characters are alike. Naruto is same as Jiraiya, Sakura same as Tsunade, Konohamaru same as Natuto, etc.

Still, you wouldn't assume that parallel writing skills would happen until something became clear. You can draw one on your own, but when the manga itself address it, then you'll know you're not over thinking.

You have a point. Well, I can say the parallels became clearer that they exist in the manga from Jiraiya's list of regrets also. In part 1 when Sasuke left like Orochimaru can be counted too.

That is true my friend. I never expected Rin and Kushina to have died same day  (different year of course), and it's great to know Naruto is gonna be turning 17. I definitely sense a NaruSaku moment coming up really soon.
