yes she is strong , and she was not controlled by chiyo for the whole time. she doughed those hands. and the posion gas too. this proved her skill, and also we have seen her streanth too didnt we during the bell 2nd training.

I don't think Sakura is defined by the Sasori fight, the problem is people seem to want to define her that way...

She has accomplished many things in the manga if you examine what responsibility she has in Konoha (or has been given), Kishimoto has guided her character down a very subtle path which I feel most people have ignored.

just my opinion though.....

I expect I am reading it differently than you I see Sakura as exactly the role I place her in, with grit, determination, brains, and beauty the perfect companion/life partner for Naruto.

I won't go into all the minutia because I start work in about ten or so minutes, for example though

during Pain's invasion of Konoha where she rescues the little girl and kills the summon with one punch then heals the girl from her injury, that is the type of Heroine I admire. There was no fanfare, no glory seeking, she just saw what was needed and tried her best to accomplish her goal...

just as she always does...

that is why she is the heroine of the manga and why I admire her in a nutshell

Honestly, I don't know what he is intending, but the way he keeps conveying her comes off as such. Intended or not, it is as is it. Kishi also intended for Sakura to be well liked and truthful, yet fans call her a b*tch and a liar. At least with Sakura he tries to show something difference, but Hinata....it is like a broken record with the same message "Naruto-kun."

Ultimately it was the way the arc was written that was the problem. Sakura's plan was flawed, her execution was flawed, and she had to be saved twice.

Kakashi does mention that Naruto feels like his burden has been lifted, but everyone overlooked that part.

In the end it made Sakura look bad, and it again reenforces the message that what she should do is nothing at all. >_>

As for Kishimoto's comment, I've seen a lot of interpretations of it. Clearly Inner Sakura is honest, but Sakura herself is not, at least when she is around people like Sasuke or Tsunade.

let's just say the least things they tell is that she's ugly ( i don't know how they see her ugly cause she's very beautiful), useless and annoying, although if she's annoying what \do they say about naruto ?! and above the least, comes words and lots of expressions that are cussings that i won't tell you of cause if you know them, you'll freak out and have the urge to , they sure are oblivious about her, they talk about her like they desire her to be, sadly.

Love her character to bits!!!! One of my favorite characters!!!! Only comes after Naruto and maybe one or two others. Only wish, like some other fellow fans here that she'd get more development. Kishi does focusing too much on Naruto and Sasuke but ignores Sakura. That is something I'd like changed cause She has REAL potential to be a Strong and revered Heroine in the story, but Kishimoto sometimes puts her on the side with the other non central characters. Though I'm sure its not intentional, only he merely may not know what to do about Sakura himself.

well yea i know, that's why i told narulsaku that i won't talk about this issue and gave him a little info about what he wanted to know cause he didn't know about the bashing as he was just asking me

Compared to most I didn't get introduced to Naruto pre timeskip, I had heard of it and knew a little of it but wasn't a fan, a friend of mine introduced it to me during the start of the Shippuden. My first introduction to Sakura was the Sasori fight, so for her actions in that fight she became one of my favorites but meant that even when she had a few annoying moments pre timeskip they never left a negative impression on me because I was used to the character she would become.

That said even now she remains one of my favorites because of how flawed she is at times, it feels realistic and even if I do wish she got some more action she never ceases to be an interesting character.

Always loved her to bits above many of the other characters. To the point where, if anyone insults her, I tend to take it personally. She's got lots of potential and deserves to get a lot more focus in the story. I could spend quite a while ranting about how much I like her, but I guess I'll keep it short.
