Bump:
http://gematsu.com/2...firmed-for-west
So apparently, Tecmo/Team Ninja want to give gamers, who has PS3 at the moment, to download the full game update with all the modes (exclude Story) and only the 4 main ninjas available with all costumes unlock, minus the DLC ones, for free. The rest of the cast, including the additional cast, can be bought for $4 and Story mode is $15...
Note: This is the start of the Free 2 Play concept.

New updates:
+ For those who had been following the news, Marie Rose is available for purchase in the consoles.
+ New clone alert: Phase-4, who is the prototype clone of Kasumi with crazy teleport combos and air throws. (Actually debuted in the ending of Story mode). She'll come to consoles at the end of this month.
+ Tons of new costumes... for the ladies (though need more throwback costumes for all of the DOA cast).
+ And we have another new female coming to the Arcades: Introducing Female Tengu/ Nyotengu (not sure that's her actual name)

Major Bump!
So earlier this week, we found out that there is another update coming in 2015 for the new-gen consoles (physical and digital) and last-gen (digital), named Dead or Alive 5: Last Round!
New update includes 2 returning stages from the previous games: The Crimson (DOA 2) and the Danger Zone (Kasumi's stage from DOA1)
More hairstyles for the girls, new costumes including the winners from the Team Ninja contests and particle effects upgrade.
Also, Nyotengu is available on PS3 right now and for 360 tomorrow.

ANOTHER BUMP (seriously, I'm mad about this decision)
Last Round will come out in February, worldwide for both current and last generation consoles (but this is why I'm mad about, last gen will lose out on the new stages and the hairstyle customizer options to make sure the price range is good. This tells me that I have to buy one of the NEW Gen console to get the full experience and features...)
Also we're getting 2 brand new characters soon, one male and one female.

I know people think of DOA for... obvious reasons.
However, I think these games (the fighting games) are really fun, fast paced and spectacular but it kinda lacks depth.
Yes one of its biggest selling points is fanservice and it does it extremely well. The designs, color environments, character artworks tend to be extremely good and even the ost (especially doa3). This franchise combines sex appeal, violence and classical martial arts almost perfectly (if you take out some of the silly aspects of the series).

There have been too many versions of this game, I was going to get the original once it went down in price, only for the Ultimate version to be announced, so decided to wait, but the cost of the Ultimate version was too high I felt, and price didn't go down by much and has always been hard to find here, and now they've announced the last version, i'll probably get this on the new gen consoles, probably the XBO as I prefer the controller, but the lack of backward controller support means my arcade sticks will be gathering dust from now on...unless this is announced on PC, then i'm good.
I loved DOA2 on the Dreamcast, it looked so amazing, even after over a decade I still think it looks great, I love the fighting mechanics, pulling off a combo felt so great. I prefer the look of the older games than the latest version, something about the new look creeps me out, I can't put my finger on it.
