The problem IS that Sakura knows. People keep calling her selfish and etc... It's getting quite annoying actually. And, I think the mistranslation was that Sai didn't say that, he said that Sakura chose Naruto over Sasuke. That's what they say they mistranslated. I don't know...

People call Sakura a lot worse things than selfish. Just ignore it If it worries her that Hinata has feelings for him, that must mean she has her own feelings she hasn't considered enough. That doesn't make her selfish, it makes her confused.

And I doubt all translators are against NS. The spoilers back then said the exact same thing, so it wasn't really a surprise when the chapter was released. Sakura does love Sasuke; we just don't know how much.

Naruto still loves him even though Sasuke tried to kill him as well :/ So yeah, even then, Sakura will always care about Sasuke. Team 7 was like a family.

... But Naruto knows it'll never be the same again. He said he's gonna stop chasing Sasuke; and if he wants to kill him Sasuke will have to be the first to make a move.

Team 7 is family to Naruto I think. Sasuke pretty much hated them and Sakura is just all around confuse at what she should do or her feelings. Some family xP And Kakashi... Well, he's pretty much just willing to kill Sasuke even though he said he didn't.

I'm not sure if this exactly points out 474, but, eh... Just making a point.

Hmmm. Im not overly concerned with translations, when it comes down to it I think we will able to tell whos with who Unless we find someone who is translating for money (I wonder who ) I doubt we'll get 100% accurate translations.

Yup and so will Naruto. Whether anyone likes it or not, the team 7 bonds will always be there.

So Sakura saying Hinata loves Naruto isn't true?
I thought Hinata's confession to Naruto in chapter 437 clearly stated how she felt for him. So technically it isn't a assumption. I would rather have it as accurate as possible too but it seems like everyone is jumping the gun and discrediting the translators. For me this example isn't enough to confirm the translators being bias is all i am saying. Until the US version is released and shows that the translators have been abundantly making mistakes or altering the words of the manga, I wont regard them as biased translators.

I truthfully hope the translations were flawed because then that would mean more NARUSAKU moments for us.

WHAT I SAID if you read my post again, was the scene with Sai and Naruto AFTER Sakura's confession. Most people ASSUMED Sai said "Sakura loves Sasuke" but with the new findings people have found, he never said that. Because of that, the meaning of what he actually did say changed and now his dialogue makes more sense than what we had before.

I made NO mention to the scene with Sakura and Hinata. I wasn't even referring to that. I was referring to the Sai scene.

What if you said...."Yeah I kind of think Hinata is a good character." Should I automatically assume and IMPLY you are a NaruHina fan and troll you to death when you said nothing about NaruHina?

I don't think the bonds are gonna last though, Sai is there to replace Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura need to accept that. It's getting annoying how they ignore Sai most of the time and don't include him on what's going on. That's why I believe somebody on team 7 is gonna die. (not giving names just saying someone in the team will die)

As for the translators being biased, I'm pretty sure they are especially when a dog meow's like a cat instead of barking. Also some of their language is out of place that I can notice off the bat sometimes.

Irony isn't it? The same person who tells me that that "it is implied and so it must be true" is the same person who IMPLIED that I said something I didn't and ASSUMED something I didn't.

So he just proves my point that IMPLYING something doesn't always make it true.

I am sorry, but I am so sick of people getting mad at me because they didn't read something correctly. There is a difference between someone who doesn't understand and someone who doesn't read.

This is just another example of someone who doesn't read and like I said assumes something that isn't or wasn't said. I hate people who don't read. I don;t mind explaining something if they do not understand, but someone who doesn't read what is given has no right to complain of something goes wrong afterwords.

I for one am so sick of people who don't read my post and then argue with me about a point I already covered and putting words in my mouth.

This is me expressing myself in the way I know how. If you are going to make an arguing point, then READ before you make it because someone might have covered that point already.

This is one of the problems with these pairing wars that happen in these manga. Instead of looking at the meaning of what characters say, they skim the surface and don't get the whole point and thus they miss something.

Sure sometimes it could be simple and straight forward, but that's not always the case and sometimes you have to see what is not being expressed through words.

I was kind of annoyed at how Naruto, Kakashi and Yamato left Sakura out but told Sai about their plans. Heck, Sai and Yamato even know Minato was Naruto's father but Sakura doesn't. Kakashi treats Sai more as part of Team 7 than he does Sakura.

That being said, yes Naruto and Sakura do kind of leave Sai out of things, Naruto moreso than Sakura. I think Sakura is more inclusive because that's her nature- we saw that even when Sai was first added to the team and was acting like a jerk. We know Naruto was still seeing Team 7 as it was when they were 12 in his heart up to chapter 474. Sakura had already moved on from that image.

Woo Woo no need to get aggressive over it. First off you responded to my comment first so don't think I had a target on you from the get go or my intent was to patronize you.

Second, I was talking about the Hinata (Hinata loves Naruto) situation when you commented on me so that's why I was still talking about it in my next comment. At that moment I knew of only one piece of evidence that supported the topic of bias translators and that was someone had a US version of the manga volume I believe where it said Sakura only said "Hinata you", which confirmed the mistranslation.(I am not going by translators from websites or friends anymore so if you are, I am sorry but I don't consider that to be concrete proof) You were talking about assumptions in your response to my comment saying " you know what they say about people who assume" so that is why I would think you were talking about the Sakura/Hinata moment and that is also why I said it wasn't technically a assumption because it has been already stated in the manga. I was never talking about the Sai/Naruto conversation, that is why I concluded that you were addressing me about the Hinata/Sakura moment. It only makes sense that someone who responds to you will stay on the same subject as you and not shift to a Sai/Naruto moment. If you have eligible proof of the Sai/Naruto conversation, I would like to see it.

Yeah. It's such a weird dynamic. They spout team bonds all the time, but the original Team 7 bonds were just as wide from the mark as Team 7 2.0. With Sasuke, their bonds were about rivalry and idol worship, and Sasuke was above the mix. With Sai, they seem to move around each other, each working together but keeping their own secrets. In fact I would go so far as to say that Naruto was on his own now.

And how different would their original bonds be if Sakura had idolized Naruto instead? We know Sasuke was jealous of Naruto, it came out in the VotE fight. I think it would have brought out Sasuke's anger earlier. There sure wouldn't have been a bond to look back fondly on. I've always thought Sakura was the glue that held them together.


But...I'll get back on topic now!

It is terribly hard to get a good bead on your favorite characters when crucial scenes with scant few words are mistranslated. And I agree with both sides of our little debate: These may be done by regular people, kind-hearted unprofessionals, but some of them are done to intentionally screw with audience.

You would think the sites that profit from hosting these mangas would want credible translations. After all, if the audience doesn't click through, then they won't generate ad revenue.

This was my reaction to first seeing what this topic had to say.


Anyone have any idea when the american shonen jump issue that has Sakura's confession and chapter 474 comes out? Did it already come out?


If anyone has a subscription to the american shonen jump or sees the chapter in the magazine in there local bookstore they should take pictures of it and upload it to this site for confirmation.


At this point, I only trust the official U.S. translations because they get paid to translate it as close as possibly to the original so we need to be sure.


I knew something was off in that chapter, something just didn't seem right, nothing made sense.

No, I just bought Volume 48 and it said the next Volume isn't coming until October 2010... possibly Naruto's birthday?
