Sakura's great. Kishimoto ruined her.
But that's ok - it all works out in the end because he ruined every other good thing about this story too, with Naruto getting the worst of it.

Couldn't agree more, you guys. As many of you already pointed out, I just can never hate the concept of Sakura. She was such a human and relatable character and in the right hands, she could have been turned into a beautiful, wise, strong and mature woman who saw a lot of hardship, but that only made her stronger and made her learn a lot how the world works. What we got is a little girl who is supposed to be a grown-up, but never really let go of all the troubles and flaws that were holding her back as a teenager. She got basically zero development and stayed the way she was. And not developing a character is about the worst you can do to them.
