Speaking of the Slug SM, I've been thinking... I think Saiken (the Rokubi) is one of the few that knows the Slug Sage well and knows where Shikkotsurin is. Think about it, the Great Sages all seem to be several centuries old and the Bijuu would've been born around the same time as them, so I'm sure that Saiken has a close relationship with the Slug Sage.

And I think that the reason no one knows where he is is because the Sage purposely hid itself from the world out of spite towards the humans who come seeking the secrets of Slug Senjutsu because of its anger about Saiken being enslaved.

Reading the last few comments, seems Naruto's certainly got plenty to look forward too once all this war and Sasuke business is over.

Jokes aside though, this thread has been very active over the past week, because it's dealing with a subject that most of us are concerned about: Sakura's lack of power-ups so far.

A few people have suggested she may have learned slug summoning or even SM itself while Naruto's been away on Turtle Island, but the timeframe just doesn't allow for the time that would take. However, aside from her fight with Sasori, Sakura has not been seen in combat very often (and the rules of a Medical-nin would go a little bit towards answering that) and apart from when on missions or socialising outside of missions with Naruto or anyone else, she is hardly seen. Therefore, I don't see why it isn't possible that, during those periods of time, she isn't putting some time in to improving any abillities she already has (like other characters have shown), and her lack of any fight time meaning she hasn't had the opportunity to showcase those improvements.

That said, with what we've seen within the last 8 chapters or so, I believe that Sakura learning Slug summonning and subsequently sage Mode is now a very REAL possibility. The first (and most obvious) sign was when Kabuto revealed his SM, because it threw out the idea that it was exclusively a Toad-specific ability. And in keeping with the relationships and equality between the three species (Toad, Slug, Snake), the only conclusion is that a Slug SM also exists. Add to that that Kabuto mentioned a place called Shikkotsurin in the same sentence as Myubokuzan and Ryuchido (already esteablished as the homeland of the Toads and Snakes respectively), then again the only conclusion is that this place is the sacred land of the Slugs.

Unrelated (but otherwise significant I feel) is Tsunade's speech about the rules of Medical-nin (specifically the one prohibiting them from taking part directly in a battle), and how they are only exempt from these rules if they possess the ability to use the Byakugou, which only Tsunade does. So Tsunade's revelation brought up the question, where does that leave Sakura? But then we have Kabuto's SM revealed only a couple chapters later. I consider these to be indications that Kishi is paving the way for Sakura to eventually be able to take part directly in battle, and still continue her role as the team medic. Add that to the possibility of her learning genjutsu as well, and the you've got the makings of Sakura becoming a veery powerful kunoichi, and another step towards Chiyo's comment of her [Sakura] surpassing her master. Besides what's been mentioned above, Sakura learning SM would mean that she would have another thing to relate with Naruto, the future Hokage and his future wife, both of them Sages...

Now, the obvious counter-arguements have already been mentioned; what time would she have to do all this, her lack of chakra etc. but I consider these issues that will be solved along the road while on the way to the ultimate destination, that is Sakura reaching her full potential (and in the process getting the attentiaon she justly deserves). I am certain of the destination (SM Sakura), all that needs to be sorted out is the journey, and I think we'll find out a bit more once these chapters concerning Kabuto, Itachi and Sasuke are out of the way and we can get back to (preferably) Naruto or the Kages.

and secretly Sakura is too .


But back on topic . I'm sure Sakura will get stronger with age. She may have learned to do something off-panel. Wouldn't be the first time Kishi surpised us and I very much hope Sakura learns a Sage Mode or at least a unique jutsu of her own that rivals or is even stronger than Tsunade's new one. I'm always constantly frustrated that Kishimoto always forgets about his kunoichi's abilities if you compare them to the guys. It's like the guy's are given SOOO much more powers and developments but the girls...not nearly as well. Especially Sakura. She is my second favorite character and yet compared to her teammates...she's weak . How can Kishimoto just forget about his heroine? I know she's one of the strongest female characters but I wish very much she was at Tsunade-level. Both Naruto and Sasuke have surpassed their masters but Sakura has yet to go through this .

And I don't think sakura will get any more stronger than she is now, at least she will not surpass her master tsunade because she was never so much of an important character! I very well know she is heroine of manga but she doesn't seem to have much important role other than being pairing fodder and a little bit of other things!

Moreover, why do u guys think she will need or get any kind of power boost! I don't see her fighting any main villain in future now! Their seems no reason to me to give sakura a power boost until she again have a kittentyy attempt to fight sasuke!

Most of it will now move to sasuke and naruto, and gradually all of it will/should move to naruto because I don't want to see anybody else get panel time in final fight and chapters of manga other than the TITLE CHARACTER NARUTO.

Because compared to Naruto and Sasuke, the other two male main characters, Sakura has been almost completely neglected. So it's it really that hard for you to understand that some people would really like for her to at least get some sort of power boost? Maybe even a little fight. It doesn't even have to be a big villain. Any opponent will do. It's only really so that the poor girl will finally get a chance to prove herself and surpass her master. Afterall, one of the biggest themes of Naruto is that the new generation will always surpass the old generation. Therefore, If Sakura doesn't surpass Tsuande in some way, he will basically have betrayed his own story.

Besides, Kishi has already confirmed that Naruto vs. Sasuke will be the last fight of the manga, so no worries there.

Of course Sakura will get stronger! She's the heroine for god's sake! If Kishimoto wants to keep his story theme of surpassing the previous generation like TerrorKing said, he would be betraying his own story if she didn't improve. Sakura IS a main character, therefore important. Maybe not as important as Naruto and Sasuke but still part of the plot. I strongly disagree with the pairing fodder comment. I think your confusing her with Hinata, who is the true essence of pairing fodder at the moment. No, Sakura was pairing fodder in Part 1. Her only goal was to be with Sasuke, nothing else.
Sakura would be pairing fodder if all she thought about was her personal life like Hinata. That is not the case. While her character has a large part in the romantic subplot, she's not pairing fodder, Her goals are to not be a burdan, get stronger, and help Naruto which ties in with not being useless. I hate it when people try and say she's pairing fodder when's she more than that.

There was foreshadowing from Chiyo and Kakashi that Sakura will surpass Tsunade as a medic and kunoichi. How can you not think Sakura needs a power boast? She obviously does. Compared to her teamates, she's weak and is far behind them in power, making her seemingly taking the place of a burdan again. While she may be the strongest kunoichi out of Konoha 11, she can't stay the way she is now if she wants to be useful. I believe she will get stronger but I'm disappointed we haven't seen anything yet . She needs a boost badly.

I believe all the characters that haven't yet should get stronger but especially Sakura since she's a main character. Naruto can't do all of these on his own and I'm sure more characters will be getting panel time. I love Naruto more than any character in this manga, even Sakura but just because he's the main character doesn't mean everyone else should be neglected especially Sakura. Most of them deserve panel time and character growth. Naruto is my favorite character but it's always nice to see things from a different character perspective. Naruto will have a spot int the last chapters but I'm taking about the current ones.

I just want Sakura to fight again. I don't care who it is, just someone. I need to see Sakura in action again. It's been a long time since Sasori...

I have a theory on how Sage Mode works. Maybe there's some fundamental law of nature in the Narutoverse that prevents more than one person from being a Toad Sage, Snake Sage or Slug Sage all at the same time. My theory (which I had influence from someone else's posts) is that in order for someone to become a Sage, the previous Sage Mode user has to have died in order for the new potential Sage to become a master of Sage Mode and Sage Jutsu.


It makes sense when you think about the fact that when Jiraiya died, Naruto was taken to Mount Myoboku to learn the secrets of Sage Jutsu. Once you think about that along with the fact that Snake Summoners like Kabuto can have a Sage Mode, one could argue that if it weren't for the fact that Orochimaru died, Kabuto would've might not been able to learn Sage Mode in the first place. I say this because even though Kabuto said that Orochimaru wasn't able to perfect Sage Mode, he never really outright stated that Orochimaru didn't know Sage Mode at all. I think that since Kabuto's Dragon Form is the result of a Perfect Sage Mode for Snakes, Orochimaru's White Snake Form is actually an Imperfect Sage Mode for Snakes that he entered into whenever he needed to take control of a vessel's body for his Immortality Jutsu to work.


This leads me to believe that at some point during the Kage vs Madara fight, Tsunade will be revealed to have possession of an Imperfect Sage Mode of the Slug category. But in order for Sakura to ever have any chance of learning Sage Mode, Tsunade will have to die in the battle against Madara if my hypothesis on the whole "One Sage per Species of the Toad/Snake/Slug Trio at a Time" thing is correct.


I also believe that Sasuke will get a Snake Sage Mode by Kabuto taking control over Sasuke's body at the end of their fight. But he'll fail at erasing Sasuke's conscious because Sasuke could use Tsukuyomi to destroy Kabuto's conscious completely thus letting Sasuke take over Kabuto's body as a reversed possession. Another theory of mine is that Kabuto not only has the powers of Suigetsu, Karin and Jugo, but the powers of Jirobo, Kidomaru, Sakon/Ukon, Tayuya and Kimimaro as well. Once Kabuto's possession attempt backfires on Sasuke, He'll not only have all of the powers and Jutsu of Orochimaru and Kabuto, but also all the powers and Jutsu of the members of the Sound Five and Hebi/Taka.


So if Kishi wants to give Sakura a Sage Mode, then he'll have to do a time-skip to a point were Naruto, Sakura and the rest of the Konoha 11 are full-grown adults that are in charge of the Hidden Leaf Village. I think that this current arc will go on from now until the week before the premiere of Road to Ninja. The sixth shippuden movie will count as a canon arc and there will be no Naruto chapter during that week. We then go towards the week after Road to Ninja's premiere which will start off we're the movie left off into a new arc that will be the last arc before the end of Part 2. In this arc, Sakura will be driven by her desire to get stronger by choosing to undergo Sage training with the Slugs and Naruto would go off to do some training to perfect on his skills some more since Tobi might still be a big threat to the Ninja World. We the get treated to a transitional Gaiden similar to the Kakashi Gaiden that would focus on Minato which would then lead to the beginning of Part 3. Then by that time, Sakura would be a strong Kunoichi that could potentially be at a level comparable to that of a Kage.

Slug on Sakura's right shoulder, slug has to become one with her somehow. Frog has connected to Naruto, Snake has connected to Sasuke, I mean Dr. Snake, but slug hasn't connected to Sakura.

Its a bit out there, to be honest. I highly doubt Kishimoto would subvert from the manga into a different medium. It is possible, but I just dont see it happening. All we can do now is wait.
