The thing is in Shounen is that when the main character gets a love interest that he is interested in, he's going to get her. When there's nothing like that, well follow the journey to see if they are going to end up together. Hero/heroine or main characters usually ends up the victory. I don't use this argument because NS is so good without it. But again, it's usually follows that flow, especially in Shounen.

It depends on the developpement that main character gets.
Naruto never doubt about his feelings unlike Sakura. This developpement begin normally in the beginning, not in the last 50 chapters of the story.
So yeah, in Naruto's case, as the main character, he will win Sakura's love for sure, because the author never did him doubt about his first feelings.

I think I get what you're saying, but I don't think there's much of a difference terms of romantic development in western & eastern entertainment. Both have a fair amount of "destined loved ones" and "casual dating" themes, whether it be in books, on TV, or such and such. Come on people, us Asians aren't all that different from you

I guess I used a poor choice of words. Instead of saying all east media let's just boil it down to manga/anime, especially shounen. Love is a very serious thing in those type of series, they never take a liberal point of view with it. I've never seen a shounen hero just casually date random girls, there's always that special girl that he gets development with. Maybe the casual date with a random girl happens in one sole chapter out of the entire series but nothing romantic ever develops and they never do it again.

Yes, that's the problem. Naruto's love is not seen as a bad thing. It's much different from Sakura's love. Sakura's love is really damaged because the guy she loves isn't a great guy and makes her depressed. There's no indication from Naruto that his love is bad and makes him depressed. You want to know what's the real problem according to Naruto? The answer is him. He doesn't blame Sakura but rather look down on himself because he feels unworthy. That's not a bad thing because he can overcome it. On top of that, that's not a reason to move on, rather improve it and advance it to the next stage, where you feel happy about everything and ready to hit the goal. For Sakura, it's different because the guy is not helping his own relationship and he is never shown to be persuaded by her words. Her problem is the guy who she loves and that's not a good sign. Yes, she hasn't move on, but reality is finally clicking. Ino had her dad to reassure herself. Sakura needs to do alone unless Naruto or anyone close realizes her feelings.

Naruto and Sakura are always close to each other physically as well as communication. There's no flaws for Naruto, rather taking the blame on himself. Sakura has flaws because Sasuke is not around, didn't have a great start let alone good, and admitted that both of them really have no chemistry, only to acknowledge that Team 7 is what kept him, not her alone. She has reasons to move on and again, the great guy talk is the first click to reality check to her love life. I don't think she remembered what's considered a great love couple, and since that's being said she just now thought that's not true for her. It's slowly but surely coming around. Naruto hasn't done anything that's like confessing or very charming to her, but if one of them happens, it will hit her hard. So yeah, why Naruto has to move on is beyond me and offensive.

Lol, I remember the first time I debated an NH fan, he said NaruHina and GokuChi were parallel. I reminded him that Chi-Chi not only hit Goku for being a pervert when they were children, but also became a full on Tsundere-type character after she grew up.
He then tried saying that they were parallel because they both shared the roles of lovers.

Because that isn't circular logic at all

There would be one parallel for sure if NH happens : The male fall in love without developpement.
Chichi : Will you accept marry me ?
Goku : For sure, I promise (even if I don't really know what marry means)

A few years later :
Chichi : Goku, I love you
Goku : Who the hell are you ?

This pairing (like all of them in Dragon Ball) was made for making powerfull childeren for the story, that's all.
Same goes for Bulma/Vegeta.

The reason why that argument fails is because Hinata was always sweet and shy, she never changed to the extent Chi-Chi did so dramatically. I'd say the only thing they actually have in common long-term is that they never hated the hero and always crushed/loved Goku.

I'd say she's more of a Sakura parallel, easy. She used to be very submissive/placid as a child only to become more blunt and short-tempered later in life. Also, the GokuChi relationship could very easily qualify as a parallel to NaruSaku in terms of interaction. Just seeing how Chi-Chi acts with him when she's a mom is just ... it's just NaruSaku.

I laughed at the bolded. The degree of wishful thinking in that sentence .... the closest Naruto even has to a lover is Sakura and that's only because she hugged him romantically in a public environment during the Pain Arc. Hug trumps Chakra-passing hand-holding any day.

Well, Goku was, no offense, the biggest idiot out of all Shounen Jump protagonists. But to be fair, he did grew up with no teacher, so he's like a caveman in the future. He thought it was a food for Pete sake, but I digress. I kept hearing that not only Vegeta/Bulma was made to have another character that's powerful, but Akira did it to cause hate which reverse back. He did try to end it, but fans kept asking more. That's what I heard. Oddly enough, Vegeta/Bulma, when you look back, still have the woman superior over him, just not done in the same way most protagonist goes through (like Naruto, Goku, Yusuke, etc.). Oddly enough, it's more like...SK. But I'll just stop there.

Oh yeah! Naked Sakura drawing Naruto. Um, yeah. How can you go wrong with that? It's if Gundam opening crew members did that scene. By all means, I'm not complaining.

How many times are the anime studios going to make the female characters naked in the openings/endings.

Wow that's irating.... I dont know why but that's so annoying to me.

anyway, my random pet peeves aside, that's a rather interesting ending. Sakura seems depresses which sometimes happens, Im pretty sure this would likely be after Sai told Sakura about Naruto's feelings, but before the team 7 reuinion. Naruto made Sakura feel better after the team 7 reunion and Sakura wasnt in emotional termoil before Sai's intervention so it's the only time that makes sense.

that said im pretty sure im just looking too much into this, it's a pro NS ending, pretty much just pairing fanservice and nothing more.

I'm not too big a fan of animators drawing female characters nude in an attempt to sexualize them.
But Sakura drawing Naruto was a nice touch, I guess.

He reminds me of the Sandaime in this ED. Hiruzen was really close to Naruto, Shikamaru, Choji and Kiba when they were little kids.
Remember the flashbacks.

Everytime I imagine Naruto as a father, my heart just warms so much. I'd love to see how he acts as a father to his kids, the picture's so adorable and cute. He'd be a great dad.

I cannot think of a time when I see how he is with Konohamaru and other younger children that I haven't thought "Aww ... I really want to see him as a parent. He'd be great with them." That Chikara filler arc ... so many feels.

We have Naruto with his preferred easy-going, lax approach in raising kids vs. Sakura and her strict/more forceful way of raising them. Their children will have one hell of a childhood.

I actually was thinking MinaKushi when I typed that. Though there was that one time Minato slapped Naruto in RtN, but that was only when he was pushed to his absolute limit. Kushina hands out punches and insults like it's the easiest thing in the world lol. It probably is, for her.

The poor kids. You just know Naruto is going to let Sakura do her "strict/forceful" approach in raising them most of the time.
