Thanks for the general translation Megi!  I had no idea that her feelings were so blatantly hinted at in an earlier databook (as early as databook 1 no less)!  This one even flat out says that her gaze is shifting to Naruto and that there’s a possibility she may come to love him.  So that makes 2 out of three databook entries now that blatantly say Sakura doesn’t know what she feels for Naruto, and that pretty blatantly hint that she could fall/is falling in love with him.

 

The only weird/slightly annoying thing is that not a single one of Naruto’s databook profiles says anything about Sakura or his feelings for her.      I think the closest we get is in databook 2, where the POAL is off-handedly mentioned.  That's pretty disappointing to be honest, and not more than a little confusing to me also.  His feelings for her are significant enough to warrant a mention in at least one of them (especially considering Sasuke's databook 2 profile had quite a bit about his relationship with Sakura, and her confession to him).

To be honest, it's not needed for Naruto. It's one of the stated obvious and pretty much something that is known in story, not in a databook. Databook is telling you the chance and summary that is done, not that it's already established as well as ongoing. Naruto and Sasuke's relationship is always ongoing because they are ongoing. Sasuke's databook 3 got little to no Sakura, because his side of his story with Sakura is pretty much done. Why you think we never see anything new with him and Sakura? Because he's done. You can only go to "Yeah, we're friends now" but it falls under others (K9) as one. Naruto and Sasuke's relationship is the real story for Sasuke.

 

Let's not forget the most important part of this: Sakura is supposed to be the "not lover" person for Naruto. If it's questioned, then surely Naruto and Sakura will be together. This is not the same as Naruto being questioned as well as Sakura, rather it falls under Naruto loves Sakura as she is being questioned. I did explain a while back this, so I will do so again.

 

Character A and Character B shows no sign of romance: little to 0%

Character A being questioned as Character B shows none: 25%

Character A being questioned as well as B/Character A loves B, but no sign from B: 50%

Character A loves B as B is being questioned: 75% or more

Character A and B love each other: Close to 100%

 

Of course, asspull and cancellation is not applied here, but you can see how the chance is being play here. Honestly, I feel like retiring this "war" and just say, "meh." I know, I know, it sounds rude, but come on, if that's being there for so long, what are we missing? I guess it explains anime/game/etc know what to market. Hm...Oh, I got an idea.

I don't know that I would say she's care too much, but yes, her ulterior motives and the fact that she didn't stop to think about what she really feels for Naruto before saying what she said kept her from being able to express those feelings properly.  Honestly, I don't know that she could have even articulated her feelings for Naruto honestly at that point even if she tried - I'm still inclined to go with the databook (two entries now) that flat out state Sakura doesn't understand/doesn't know what she feels for Naruto.

 

I don't think she was thinking along the lines of the bolded at all.  Sakura's entire plan and motivation sprung from wanting to ease Naruto's burdens and make up for inadvertantly hurting/burdening him by asking him to bring back Sasuke.  Again, I don't believe she thought of her feelings or what was best for her at all after the revelation or on the way to the summit.  She confessed and gave up on Sasuke to try and ease Naruto's burdens, not because she logically thought that's what would be better for her.  Sai flat out states this in 474.  You even seem to acknowledge this yourself in the last paragraph, so I'm a bit confused as to why you seem to think Sakura took her own feelings into account at the summit at all.

I disagree, I don't see why it should be mentionned when it's not necessary. His character is not about his love for Sakura, It's just a characteristic that will never change, so there is no need to remind it in every databook or to put an emphasis on. It's ike his love for ramen, I know it's totaly diffrent but it's just an example, it's a characteristic that is part of him, it is inked in his personnality.

So the only times, a book would talk about his love for Sakura are when the love section is involved. For example, there was the chart where Naruto was linked to Sakura with a "suki" next to the arrow. Or the Love Section in the Kizuna Books.

 

Yous see, I view it as a trait of personnality, not as his main plot, while the main aspect of Sakura's plot revolves around Love. That's why the only time his love was represented in a databook, it was about the POAL, because it moved the main plot which is about Sasuke by putting an emphasis on Naruto's feelings for Sakura. Well at least in my opinion.

Well, translating word for word isn't always the best case, and many times it can't be so. Translators don't just translate words, they have to translate the "feel", the implications, etc. 

 Oh yeah, for sure, I know. I don't read much of the Viz translations but if I happen to be at the library or something I take a look at some of the Naruto volumes they have, and I tend to prefer the way things were translated in the fan translations.
It's things like suffixes and stuff (like what was being discussed earlier in the thread - the thing with Sai and how removing those suffixes encourages a closer relationship...), I like how that stuff is kept in the fan translations.

And sure, this scene is Sakura's relationship with Naruto.
"She herself doesn't really understand her thoughts/feelings towards Naruto. She really likes Sasuke but, if you notice, she is also looking at Naruto. Right now, it doesn't seem to be love but, perhaps there maybe a chance!?!?!?!??!"

Yeah, I think very, very few are aware about these comments in the databook (which shows how selective people read...). That's why I laugh when people disregard the comments in the third databook about Sakura's feelings for Naruto. Some people say that by now Sakura figured out her feelings for him, so that section is irrelevant, and pretty much say Kishi put that in for kittens and giggles. If that were true, why even put that in the databook at all? Why reference her "new feelings" in her profile in the third databook several times? If that were true, why is it so blatantly said in two different databooks (one of them being all the way back in the first databook) that she doesn't know exactly what she feels for him and hinted that she could fall/is falling in love with him? And yet the "she feels his lonely existence" thing is blown way out of proportion and taken as a hint that Sasuke was falling in love with Sakura or something. Honestly...

Yeah, that's something that's always bothered me. Others are saying that it's not really important or necessary, but I agree with you. It's not like I want a section reserved just for Sakura and his love for her, but like you said, I do think it's significant enough to warrant a mention of it, especially since, as you said, there's quite a bit about Sakura in Sasuke's databook 2 profile. Maybe a mention of his love for her in the second databook when talking about the POAL? I know Naruto's databook 2 profile is focused mainly on Sasuke, but I think that would have been okay.

Also, was the POAL really mentioned in the second databook? I just took a look at Naruto's databook 2 profile and I didn't see anything on it (unless the translator took that part out?). It was mentioned in his databook 3 profile, I know that much. It says stuff like, he has to keep that promise and all that. Unless you mean it was mentioned somewhere else, then never mind, heh.

It's really interesting that when she initially tells him that she loves him, and when she's talking about Sasuke she looks nervous.  But after she asks if he wants her to explain why, after she walks up to him, hugs him, and starts talking her expression is very different.  She's calm, confident, at peace.  It's like she knows what she feels but only subconsciously.

Wow I didn't even know that was said so early on, even in part 1. That is great! Then Kishi again makes another reference to her growing feelings in another Databook, its clear as day what Kishi is trying to do.

Tell me about it. Now, it's clear to me. I guess this war caught on in the west, that it feels like we were missing the picture. I remember how we were getting lost in a way on why NS is being favored in anime/game/etc. Now, it's becoming clear and honestly, I feel a bit relieved. You can say, "they are just databook" but the problem is this has be mentioned since the beginning, and it's from the person who shouldn't see love with Naruto because well, she was regarded as a girl who loves Sasuke and hates Naruto. Yes, it shouldn't be hate anymore, but that's not the point. The idea of her actually being in love with Naruto has been dated since the beginning of time. Now, I'm starting to see the real picture and honestly, if NS happens, going in with all the stuff we have in content, no one should be surprised.

We misundersood eachother. I was talking about Mikoto and Sakura, I thougt you believed I was saying Sakura looked like Mikoto because of the bangs she has in common with Sasuke. You know, because you said Mikoto and Sakura are not alike for hte personnality.

But as you can see, it's not the real translation. It's totally false, so weither or not it's pro-NH or anti-NH doesn't change anything. Plus you know, NH fan will always see it as pro-NH whatever you said to prove them wrong. And there will always stay the other part of Kushina's words: "Choose someone like your mother" and they seem to ignore that part which is connected to chapter 631. They twist Naruto's response, so it's less impactful, while ignoring Minato's connection between Sakura and Kushina. They are acting like the parallel was not confirmed. 

 

But the translation is definitely: "Don't go for a weird one..."

I even saw a japanese comment referencing to Hinata's as the weird one, but I don't know if it was a reference to her introduction's chapter where Naruto calls her "weirdo".
