They just can't resist the romantic chemistry that Sasuke and Sakura have.

I love how Gaiden proved Sakura to be a terrible mother, Sasuke to be a terrible father, and they still think their ship is good XD

So the possibility that Sasuke didn't know Sakura was pregnant during that time is high. But when he met salad he knew about her, so that must mean at some point he must have gone to Orochimaru's base and Karin had to have told him.

Or Sakura told him, before he left that she was pregnant and he just didn't care to show up for the birthing. Either way Sasuke should have at least checked in or something, like damn, it takes two to make a baby.( in the narutoverse at least.)

I know this is a question that I won't get an answer actually I have multiple questions that won't get an answer but maybe someone here is a lot smarter than I am. So let's start.

 

Ok so what was the purpose of Gaiden? No seriously what was the purpose behind it?
Because the plot of it is: "Who's my mommy?" that's really it. And for what 8 or 9 (not sure when exactly it started) chapters out of it, it continues with this plot. Only to end all the drama of "Sakura's my mommy. Oh no Karin's my mommy. I hate Sakura. Naruto you're a liar." with a comical relief between Karin and Suigetsu.    Thus turning the entire thing into a joke.

Like I said in my rant and even before I posted it, I knew that Kishi is going to give us some BS explanation to tell us that Sakura is indeed the mother. But not like this. You see I said he's probably going to use Karin's moments of healing Sasuke to explain why that kid resembles Karin so much, because somehow Karin's DNA entered Sasuke's system. Yes I know it's stupid but at least it would've staid within the parameters of sense of the story. Which by the way it has no sense whatsoever, in order to understand the story you need to turn off your brain entirely.

Or that when that kid was born; she was really weak and about to die and Karin saved her life by letting her suck her chakra. Yes I know this option is also stupid but at least it would've made some sense. However the explanation that we got is not even scientifically possible. We are made from genes from our parents and some of our grandparents. It's just how it works. Seriously either find someone that can explain this to you or Google it and find how baby are made. The science part of it.
But hey forgot what I just said because the writer says it's canon. And therefore it's canon and we're just idiots that just accept whatever is given to us because the author says so.

Moving on. I know I've said this many times before but I feel like I need to say it again. One of the most important things in writing if not the most important thing is believability. We need to believe in this universe, we need to wrapped in how believable everything is, how realistic it is.

So how are we suppose to believe that Sakura went after Sasuke found him, got pregnant, still followed him while being pregnant because she's obsessed with him. Then as soon as she gave birth to a child that scientifically can't be hers, she leaves Sasuke's side and returns to Konoha where she spends the next 12 years raising that kid and not seeing Sasuke. Even though the chapter said that she's really obsessed with him and can't leave his side. And then the only reason she manages to see Sasuke again is because her daughter left the village and Sakura went after her. I'm sorry how is this believable? Why did you leave his side if you're that obsessed with him? Why? Why? And Why? What was he really bad in the bed? Is that why Sakura left? Some answers please.

Moving on to Sasuke. So he leaves the village on his "redemption" journey because he believes someone more powerful than Kaguya is out there. And for 12 years he manages to find nothing but magically the enemy finds him. Is this believable? Afraid not.
First of all if someone more powerful than Kaguya existed why hasn't that person come forth? What the hell did this villain do for all these years? Oh wait I forgot this villain doesn't really exist; he/she is just a contrived villain just like Kaguya and Toneri, but this time the contrived villain is created for the next generation. And also what the hell was Sasuke doing for the last 12 years?

Still on Sasuke. In the end he returns to Konoha only to leave again. So this raises the question: Why did he come back if all along he was going to leave? So he be present in that picture? Well if that's the case then why didn't he just took that picture before and e-mail it to Naruto? Since he doesn't talk to anyone except Naruto. What was the purpose if him coming back if he was going to leave again?
Since we're on the subject of pictures. Why did Sakura put herself on top of Karin's picture if she's really the mother and if Karin is now your BFF? It only makes her worse than she already was. What was the purpose of Sakura faking that picture?

And since when did Karin and Sakura became BFF's? Are we suppose to believe that Sakura someone that was part of the most foreshadowed and hinted and paralleled couple aka NaruSaku, all of a sudden became BFF's with Hinata and Karin? And even helped Hinata get Naruto, even though Sakura made it clear that she doesn't like the fact that Hinata has feelings for Naruto.
And Karin someone who showed her devotion to Sasuke, all of a sudden decides to be BFF's with Sakura and just lets Sasuke go because you know because...

So what was really the purpose of Gaiden? To show us a SS family picture? Was that really it? To show us that Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura as well as all the rest have become scumbags, liars, dirt-bags, hypocrites, bad parents and idiots is that it?
So why was it done? Yes of course the obvious answer is money. But all it does is insult everyone that followed "Naruto" and treats us like idiots. Like we can't possibly remember what was written before.

 

This is like 699 and 700 all over again. We get some "answers" but they're really stupid and make no sense and contradict everything we've seen thus far. And the "answers" we got raised more questions.

So why was it done? Why?

It's not a set-up for the upcoming movie, nor does help us warming up to the next generation. It just makes us hate the old generation and the next generation.

 

Was that really the purpose of it? For us to hate the continuation?

 

I don't think Gaiden was created with the intention of fixing or resolving anything. In my opinion, the people behind this series have given up in trying to fix their mistakes, as evidenced by the damage to every character in Gaiden. 

 

It could be possible that they're trying to make an "it's so bad it's good" kind of thing. Think about it, a lot of readers have fully admitted that nothing written in this spin off would have changed their minds regarding the kitten ending (for good reason), Kishi and his editors probably understand that their story will forever be seen as kitten no matter what they do. They're trying to keep readers engaged, so they're making all of the characters say and do ridiculous stuff to keep people's attention, even if for the wrong reasons.

 

I don't think works because the character's actions aren't funny or silly. Their actions are deplorable.

My advice is to read Shinachiku's first adventure. It's the better than this crap for a few reasons. 
 
1. Sakura acts like the Sakura we love.
 
2. Shinachiku is the star and not irrelevant.
 
3. Naruto is a good father who doesn't neglect his kids.
 
4. Plot actually makes sense. 
 
5. It's funny when it needs to be. 

Is this just a regular fan fic story or a manga doujinshi ? :)

The purpose of Gaiden was twofold:

 

1) $$$

2) An attempt to foster interest in the characters in order to promote Burrito's upcoming movie.

 

But if you believe the plot is Sarada wondering who her mom is, then you've fallen victim to another of Kishi's masterful plot twists. Sarada's story was actually a red herring. The real story was about Chou Chou's emotional journey to find her real father, since a rotund Chouji certainly couldn't be related to her. After asking every male she met if he was her dad (and reiterating to the reader how amazing Sasuke is) she returned home to find a thin Chouji, whom she immediately accepted as her father. The moral is that she sought to find the truth externally when she should have searched internally... that and the shallowness of judging people by their appearance is an acceptable form of behavior. Another important life lesson from Kishi-sama.

 

I'm sure it did for the SS fans.

I guess they subscribe to the idiom "absence makes the heart grow fonder". Nothing says "I love you" like complete abandonment.

The more or less reason they are doing this remember kishi had to bring up in his interviews was the NS=MK was a red herring. Because it clear a lot of people were probably asking why NS didn't happen and use the MK=NS as evidence. Now SP they don't mind JT=NS but do mind MK=NS and have to make it MK=nH. Is that JT didn't happen and you could just make them just concern friends that had a deep bond, while MK they were lover they were in love and they were married and had a child. So MK=NS is a threat and needs to be covered up by MK=nH despite the fact in the manga it was  MK/OB/JT=NS. But MK is the only one they can twist into a nH parallel.

And also it's interesting how sakura's dad is also like naruto, silly, easy going
And Kushina is like sakura, strong, short tempered & was bullied.
Gaiden literally just threw bleach on the whole plot line to make NH relevant but oh gosh, I really hope Boruto flops big in the box office

New rumors are stirring up. I would not be surprise if this happens to be true.

if its true how will it happen? kishi's not doing naruto anymore, and SP are mostly otaku hinata fans', and idk about shueisha but, i think as long as people hate sakura they're happy lol

 

It could happen because they will no longer be making profit off of this franchise. 3000 tickets is not going to do anything well in SP's favor and perhaps 100,000 Naruto Gaiden copies(my estimate) sold in its first week is a major flop. However, even if they go with the divorce or make the film to be an IT, no one is going give them money for it in the future. So the best option for them is that let this movie be the last and finally put this franchise to rest and walk away shamefully.

Oh. I just thought of something good. What if Naruto and Sakura suceed where their masters failed, in old age. As in, like Tsunade, Sakura only realises that she has feelings for Naruto when she's old. And, unlike Jiraiya, Naruto doesn't die after she figured it out. And that was Kishi's strategy to make all of the shippers happy because technically everyone was together at some point... Fool proof😏

Pretty much. It was there only to prevent the more casual fans from forgetting about the franchise until the movie comes out.

 

But honestly, if I was Kishi / Kishi's editor, I'd decide to use the spin-off to make the readers care about the new characters, about the children. It's a no-brainer, really. I mean, sure, it kinda was used for that with Salad, since a lot of people (me included) didn't care for her in chap. 700, but started to actively like her in Gaiden. But what about the rest? Aren't Bolt and Mitsuki a part of Salad's team, and isn't Bolt the friggin' MC of the new movie? So why not make readers want to see all of them animated, not just Salad?

 

 

And why make it heavily SS-centric if in the end, SS only gets trashed in it? Also I don't like NH, but it's the new family of the  old MC, so why not show them more? You can not care for Hinata only so much, Kishi, I mean not showing her is, at this point, kinda the same as not caring about Naruto since she's his wife. Oh wait...
