Urgh it's such a good movie! I remember Trang telling me it was her favorite book (the movie was made of a book). And I really understand why.
I love seeing Logan Lerman, Emma and Nina in the same movie!!!!
I can't wait to finish the book![]()

Agree 100% about the unnecessary shipping with Nat. Did you see the awful comments the actors made about Nat being a "slut and whore" for not wanting to date Captain America or the other guy?
And the big guy at the end is Thanos. He's going to end up being the focal point of like 3 Avengers films.
Ok I saw a movie with my sister and her hubby, 7/10 for Sister Act.
Funny comedy about a black singer that witnesses her boyfriend do a robbery, and needs protection from him. The police hides her in a frickin' church until they can get ready a trial, so she becomes a nun for the time being. LOL.

Wild 8/10
A woman, feeling lost and full of regret at her current decisions and direction in life decides to take a pilgrimage on the Pacific Crest Trail to find herself. This is a simple but well crafted film about a subject everyone can relate to. While our decisions probably don't mirror Reese Witherspoon's character Cheryl we can all relate to just trying to figure out what life is about or even simply not stopping to do so. There isn't much dialogue but there is a lot of strong images and a couple flashbacks that parallel a physical obstacle she encounters in nature. It's pieced together quite well and Reese Witherspoon does an amazing job portraying her physical and emotional exhaustion and anguish.

Mean Girls was awesome for sure. I really hope Tina Fey writes more movies in the future because she knocked it out of the park there.

Insidious 3 7/10
This is a prequel to the first two films, with the return of Elise Rainier trying to save a girl who accidentally called to a dark creature when trying to contact her deceased mother. In terms of quantity plus quality, it's got more quality scares than the previous entries, but much like the first film, it falls apart in the third act. The chilling atmosphere built on weaving a tale about the fantastical and dark otherworldly beings loses it's legs when it's taken from our imaginations of the mostly unseen figure to a creature with human form. The third act just isn't scary. I think the problem with both films is one of their main strengths, this place beyond the living called the Further. It gives the writer and plot free reign to build a terrifying scenario but once entered kind of weakens our antagonists by giving them physical form. I think what works with spiritual entities as antagonists is the fear and feeling of powerlessness-- that these beings can touch us watch us but we cannot do the same. We can't strike out at it, but it controls things around us and can harm us. The Further takes these creatures stuffs them in a specific location and gives them human bodies and a face to punch transforming the film from a ghost story to a stalker story. Is the film worth a watch? If you like being scared like me, yeah, but the film itself offers nothing new in terms of the genre or the series. In fact its plot structure is identical to the first film. If you go in wanting to be scared by the film it should be a decent time.

Mad Max: Fury Road - 7/10
To be clear, this is my first exposure to the Mad Max franchise. Maybe my enjoyment of the movie would have been enhanced if I had seen the others first, but I was told by many sources that I could go into this without exposure to the previous films, and I trusted them. So, here we are.
It was a decent movie. A lot of good action, but not too much outside of that. There was one great character, and his development was a shocking and pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, he was just a supporting character, and he was infinitely more explored and interesting than both lead characters. This was easily my biggest issue with the movie: it was fun, but the characters on average were not explored well enough to be super invested in their struggle. Watching all the insanely well-done action was fun, but I was never excited about any of it. Sure, I wanted the lead characters to succeed, but there was no reason for me to care about them. The only reason my rating is as high as it is is because it's so focused on the action and that there is a tiny bit of character depth given to the two leads to just warrant enough (extremely) basic investment in what's going on. And that Nux exists.
There's some neat stuff in the movie, the action is incredibly well-handled, and there was one surprisingly great character that emerged from it all. But overall, it's an entertaining time, and not much beyond that.

Big Hero 6: 8.5/10
I've been meaning to watch this movie for a while now, but never got to it until today.
Anyways, this movie was truly entertaining. Loved the action-packed scenes and gorgeous animation. It's lamentable that San Fransokyo doesn't truly exists XD The heart of this movie were the characters though, especially BayMax, who always managed to brighten up the mood for the audience.
What bumped me a little was that the plot was so predictable. After the love twist we got from Frozen, I knew that the guy behind the Kabuki mask isn't the one Hiro and co make him out to be.
Already ready for Moena 2016

Jurassic World 7/10
Fun. Nonsensical. But fun. The creature that inhabits the antagonist in this film is kind of characterless... The T-rex in the first film had character even though it was just an animal. This one is supposed to be malevolent and just comes off as being there. They describe it with some awe and as though it has a certain level of intelligence, but nothing here gives credence to these claims. Especially after the Mesosaur eats Jaws.

Inside Out 10/10
Pixar has always had the ability to tickle that something, that universal thing that connects us. There isn't a true word for it, it just is and they, without drilling it out and mining it like oil, simply lifts the veil and it makes us go "yeah." I think this is a great marriage of the heart of their best shorts with the creativity of their major films. The premise in and of itself isn't anything new. It's a peak into the mind of a little girl named Riley as she deals with moving from the only home she's ever known. We get to see her five major emotions personified in Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust; and we get to see how they work to create the person that is Riley. This film is a treat, from it's realization of functionality to the voice work. Amy Poehler as Joy just knocks it out of the park and to the moon. Everyone is fantastic. Everyone. I can't remember the last time I said that about any film. Go see it.

Kingsman- The Secret Service: 6.5/10
Yeah, not a movie you're supposed to take serious. CCG is rather bad, but that adds to the comedic aspect in my eyes. What I'm bump over the most that Harry aka Galahard died of so early and in such a quick death, too -.-

The only effect I found really and uncharacteristically bad was the scene where they're getting lowered to board the tube train that leads to base and you see the bricks behind them moving in a poorly rendered blue/ green screen shot. Harry dies around the 84 minute mark and the film is 120 minutes so two thirds of the way through the film. I wish he was around longer but I felt like that was a dramatic point to force the plot forward.

avengers age of ultron: 5/10
same boring formula as part 1. some action in the beginning, team drifts apart, later they make up and meet in a location where they each show off their moves against the minions. tony stark's constant sarcasm was one thing, but to see his evil creation mimic it causes massive head trauma. the only good thing about this movie was seeing thanos at the end.
