Not surprised at all tbh
I remember reading somewhere that it took about a decade for one of the star wars movie(the sequels) to even make a profit.
Then there was this warner movie that lost $20mil because of other factors that came with the movie
I was thinking that if I could go back in time, I would tell myself to never watch/read Naruto. Then I realized that I would have probably still ended up watching/reading it because of how popular it was. I was destined to be f**cked
Yeah, I heard that about one of the Star Wars movies. I even read somewhere that David Prowse is still owed money from Return of the Jedi because according to LucasFilm it didn't make a profit.
Plus, another danger would have been that you may have checked it out to see exactly why you should avoid it, get into it thinking "ah, it's not that bad", and then...brick over the head time at the end. The perils of time travel.
