I agree. Him refusing to bring Touka with him shows just how important she is. I especially liked it when he went to visit her and give her a key holder through Hinami. It was sad that he didn't meet her but it was nice he showed how he appreciated? her with that. He never gave that kind of stuff to Hide. And I especially liked how he has a 100% trust in her. He was sure that the black rabbit wasn't Touka. And that is pretty much telling because Kaneki may never suspect others willfully but he isn't 100% sure about them either. Including the master of antique or his best friend Hide (up to volume 10).If I had a like, if give it. Exactly my sentiments. Its really hard to determine who might be more important to Kaneki. I would say though, that if I had to pick a certain point when Touka became more important to him than Hide, even by a hair, it would have been the instant Kaneki refused her plea to go with him. At that point, he fully understood the struggle of a ghoul and tried to keep her from the life he was getting ready to take on, so that she could keep what she had worked so hard to maintain. Uta said it best, she was walking on an extremely thin tightrope, and he put that over himself. In contrast, Hide wasn't distant because of Kaneki's personal choice, he was distances by world barriers that neither he nor Kaneki had control over.Completely agreed.
I agree that I appreciate Hide more. It seems Hide's life has slowly began to turn around to saving and understanding Kaneki. While, Kaneki has other important goals.Well, true but you know how everyone is with their bond, but I kinda meant the concept of one trying to help the other, except they sucked at it, look at the ending, everything became right again
I adore Hide and Kaneki's friendship, even though I love Kaneki, I appreciate Hide a bit more for what he tries to do for Kaneki

Yeah, but I like how they think about each other once in a while, there's one scene that made me truly appreciate their friendship even though it wasn't a big scene.I agree. That one scene was the jewel of all the moments they've shared in my opinion. But even before that... I think Hide must have been terrified to hear his friend in agony through that micro that was attached to Yamori's foot. He didn't give up on searching for Kaneki and even went undercover in the CCG to spy a little bit here and there to get any clues about his friend.

I loved that scene when she got the keychain and ran outside to try and find him, and he was standing on a buildings watching over her. It was a representation of his role in his mind, someone who constantly watches over those he cares about. He's trusted her from the very beginning it seems, he constantly leaned on her when he couldn't do much.I agree. Him refusing to bring Touka with him shows just how important she is. Heyyy, who else do you guys like besides Touka, Kaneki and Hide?
I have to say, there are a lot of good supporting characters in the series, but one who has really grow on me is Tsukiyama, the guy is just to damn funny plus Mamoru Miyano performance in the anime is top notch, everytime he appears I just cannot stop laughing

Mamoru Miyano was the perfect choice for Tsukiyama. The prideful and snobbish arrogance are easy to buy with his voice. I had a time recognizing him though. The last time I heard him was in Steins; Gate (phenomenal voice acting btw, guys).
EDIT: I posted this once before, but I had to post it again XD

I love him!! I was all for Touka to beat him but after that he grew on just like Nishiki did xD I like how TG makes you hate a character and then makes you like them

What a great find
this scenes are gold!! When I read this in the manga I was like "What a sick kitten!" but then I saw the anime and I just couldn't stop laughing !

Yeah, at first Tsukiyama creeped the hell out of me
but rest assured if there was any character that I absolutely hated ( and will forever hate) it was jason
I love Tsukiyama as well. He's funny. I like it when he inserts some French. I enjoyed when he told Banjou in a battle scene "Go and enjoy your chess".
Did you already reached the "Badass mode kaneki !" scene in the manga? Oh man, that was gold too
