During the discussion of chapter 614, some members were saying that when Neji and Hinata protected Naruto, it reminded them of MinaKushi saving baby Naruto. Most of us agreed that it was unlikely for that comparison to happen because Hinata is nothing like Kushina. But in 615, it is indeed shown that the save was meant to be a parallel to that event. http://www.mangahere...60/c615/13.html
What do you all think Kishi's intention was with that, and is it a bit worrying to you or not?

NH could happen but according to everything NS should and must happen. We have logic, development, character chemistry, Narutos feelings, Sakuras feelings and Kishimoto on our side while NH has farfetched arguments, superior numbers and a studio. All in all I think we should win this shipping war once and for all.
@azura
The way I look at it, Hinata was once again committing suicide to save naruto (this time with at least a greater chance of success). Neji who was present this time did what the duty of the side branch was. To protect the heir to the Hyuuga clan. I dont see a parallel here at all.

Then why insert the panel with Kurama directly saying that it was similar?

similar doesnt make it paralel. Thats NH/SS logics.

Parallels are in fact two circumstances that are similar to one another, especially if it is stated in the canon work.

If we have to worry about something like that, then NS must be canon already if we take the parallels we have.
Also how is this parallel supporting NH anyway? If anythin its supporting NejiHina. It has totally nothing to do with hinatas realationship with naruto.

It is similar for sure. But for something to be parallel there have to be a number of similar characteristics, circumstances and actions. Such as with the Sannin and Team 7 or Sakura/Kushima, Naruto/Obito and Sakura/Rin. Those are considered parallel. But narutos parents died to protect the village and naruto. Hinata tried to die out of a selfish love and neji died because he had a sense of duty. In my book thats not a parallel.

Not really NaruHina itself, but addressing the circumstances which could compare Kushina to Hinata, depending on perspective.
Btw I'm not arguing for or against this. That's why I asked the question, in order to see your opinion on it.

Yours speaking on terms of character traits. An action could parallel anothers, even if that character in question doesn't have the personality or tendencies of who their mirroring.

ok lets compromise. I will agree its a parallel if you agree that its an extremly weak and unimportant one.

I think it is already fact that hinata is in no way similar to kushina. All she did was a similar action like kushina did, but nothing more.
We hopefully dont need go through the whole "maybe hinata is a parallel to kushina" theme again, because in about 1 month we get a movie that 100% prooves the sakura kushina parallel.
If we take hinatas action to make her in any kind similar to kushina, we can as well take hinatas hair lenght and say shes comparable to kushina.

Have you read the comments below it?
Just noticed something. How long were they holding hands???? i mean if weren't to mean anything then why hold hands for so long?

I calculate 3 seconds. The time it takes for her to comment on his hand and for him to give her the chakra it takes about 3 seconds.

This is also a point we discussed a lot of times already. Kurama already said that he needed time to deliver his chakra to others the first time, that can be taken as a reason why he was holding her hand longer.
Next thing is that we cant even say that he was holding her hand for a long time since its not possible to read the time it takes out of the pictures.

I meant panel wise. Lots of panels showing them holding hands.

I understand it was to do with chakra transfer, but to me it does seem like the hand holding is emphasized a lot. This might be just to fanservice NH but...

The first few panels he was simply removing her hand from his face and getting up. In that one wide panel is where we see him thanking not only her but Neji. The only reason we see it closeup is to emphasize the way Naruto's hand makes Hinata feel. And then in the next panel when we see their hands, we realize that he'd transferred some of his chakra to her. Nothing huge. Just blown out of proportion by fans IMO
And again with the MinaKush parallel...it's not meant to say Kushina=Hinata. It's meant to say that what Neji and Hinata did was no different than what his parents AND his other friends will do for him. (hence why we we see that one panel with Jiraiya and the rest). Maybe if Naruto had only thought of his parents it would be fair to argue that there's a parallel there to just his parents. However, considering it's not only his parents that have made this sacrifice, it can't be.

This.
The first zoom-in to the hands is to show us what action is taken place. The second one is to give Hinata comment on the moment that she hoped for. That's alll to it. People really made it sound like we see the zoom-in more than 3 panels when that's not even true. Kuruma admitted that he took a long time to charge up. Not only that but why would Naruto slap out of her hand, only to hold it after it. That would be awkward and not needed. Also, you can say it's a nice treat to NH for doing the way that it happened, even though Naruto doesn't have any feelings for her at all. It's like seeing a pairing who won't be canon getting one special treat from the writer. You can do it as long as it doesn't destroy logic of writing.
