If I can add to the earlier discussion about Sakura's smiles, does anyone remember just after their last encounter with Sasuke, back at Konoha where Sakura came to Ichiraku's to inform Naruto that Tsunade was finally awake? That scene showed the two apparantly copying/mimicing one another's facial/bodily expressions. Sakura grinned like Naruto would, and Naruto in turn performed an arm gesture that mirroed one Sakura had given to him previously, and his mother Kushina would later give to him.

Interesting, IMO. What about yourselves?

Yes, because this chapter clearly portrays them as being on bad terms and acting awkward around each other.

If he can forgive nagato after all he do and try to bring sasuke acer all he do than I doubt a lie to safe your life is considere unforgiven act. Kishi reason to separate them is to prevent auto-canon.
NS only need A moment to make it canon.

What is the lesson that we would learn if NH happened? I'm really trying to think of something but I can't.

That's the problem, there is none. I really tried to find something that could make this pairing more reliable in terms of story .. but there is nothing aside from the fact that Hinata would get what she wants.

Oh, lol, I had the impression you're a girl!
Dunno, to me it's nice that there are guys out there supporting NS. Don't want to sound sexist or something like that, it's just that boys, generally, aren't drawn to romance, and if they are, they're to pairings such as NH because it's more simple. Don't wanna bash on NH supporters, it's just the way I've seen it... So to me, when I see a guy supporting NS, I always feel more and more confident.
Btw, sorry I wasn't able to continue that debate over there. My time is more and more busier...

I remember that smile. I felt so good seeing that because of the past arc. Hell, I feel like Naruto expressed the same way I did. I do find it interesting about that scene and shame that she has to go, since they could have sat there and eat together. I really don't understand where they get the idea that they are over with each other. It's just as healthy as ever.

Indeed. I feel like they are already hit dead end of their friendship. They can break it down and reveal to be romance. Naruto hasn't contact Sakura in terms of talking to her with wisdom, so nothing has changed yet. Naruto is the key and we have to see if Sakura allows that key to open the door. It's coming and that's where the world will be witnessing.

Im a 16 year old guy. But you are right. Most 16 year old guys ive talked to end up having a preference for NH. But its not the simplicity. Im pretty sure its because she has boobs. But im an ass man so it doesnt effect me.

A possible lesson that stems from NH? Well the closest thing I can think of is that pep talks, no matter how selfish the ulterior motivation is, can eventually lead to your crush developing feelings for you. It's not great development at all but if I could only choose between it or SS happening I'd pick the former. At least Hinata has consistently cared about Naruto since the beginning; albeit it was in a silent way up until the middle of P2. That's why NH isn't entirely repulsive even though it would contradict previous events in the manga up until that point. But that's only in a worst case scenario.

That link to Slexstrem's debate with NH fan has convinced me that he/she is probably one of the best posters on the forum. It was pure awesomeness the way you dismantled that guy's arguments.

People would still be NH because they don't understand the Tsundere concept and Sakura's character, generally. She is complicated, while Hinata is simple.

I've come up with a few ideas pertaining to why people ship what they ship, and it all comes down to a person's own personality and their desires. This is what happens when you start getting into psychology.

Not to generalize, but typically female NaruSaku fans ship the pairing because they see themselves in Sakura, with a confident personality or what have you, and they personally want/have/desire a guy like Naruto. On the flip side, male NS shippers support it because they see themselves as Naruto, and they sympathize with his struggles to gain Sakura's affection, and they are attracted to girls like Sakura.

Now, on the NaruHina side, it's a slightly different case. The female NaruHina fans, same as NS shippers, see themselves as Hinata; shy, introverted, timid, etc. They want a guy like Naruto. Male NH shippers go back to the simple point; she's shy and has boobs. I don't know why (since it doesn't pertain to me), but for some reason, a lot of guys find that sort of combination attractive. The majority of NH fans are male, so you can see exactly why that is.

A lot of people don't like Sakura because, as you said, she's not simple; she's complicated, irritable, feisty, and confident. It's a weird and really degrading psychological thing, but a lot of guys want to have power over the relationship; they don't want someone that will challenge them, or actually be able to argue with them. And the female fans dislike her because they themselves want to be that confident, sassy girl; or they find themselves relating to Sakura's imperfections, and the don't like that.

If Naruto for what ever reason decided to become an sob he could have intercourse with Hinata without even trying. While Sakura as we have seen takes some work. Why are you making this about Naruto getting laid? If he wanted, he could have a relationship with Hinata at any time. Sex has no relevance at all in this manga. Not to be rude, but the way you've worded this post, it sounds like you're saying that the only thing men care about is getting in bed with a woman and that the only thing that the females are good for is sex.

I don't know if you meant it this way or not, but I find that really offensive, to be honest.

Well personally i wouldn't say no, but just not have the relationship seem to revolve around it (as well as the manga),more about the caring theme Kishi has had over the years and have the scene not graphic at all and relavant (Not just put in for the giggles).

Very sensitive subject when it comes to a pre-teen target audience show.
