I can' think of the word I want to use for her mini-speech to Naruto. I'm not saying he didn't need that speech, but why did Kishi use Hinata to give that particular speech to Naruto?

For the most part, I do blame her for his death. That was the second time she just jumped in front of Naruto without putting much thought into it. Those spikes would have impaled her along with Naruto due to her close proximity. I feel she wouldn't have helped the situation at all and only ended up killing her both. Similarly to her confession, it would have been wiser for her to get a mini team together to distract Pein and free Naruto from the rods, but instead she just jumps in front of Pein, knowing she couldn't actually do anything to help, not that she actually tried to help Naruto and only went after Pein.

Instead of just jumping in front of Naruto, she shouldn't have gotten him out of the way. Many others were able to dodge the bullet, I don't think it's unreasonable to think she could have gotten Naruto out of the way. Neji didn't have to risk his life for Hinata (and I wish he didn't), but he felt it was his duty to protect the main household, I think she should be more aware of herself and others around her.

It wasn't a lecture she gave Naruto, but in general, I just felt that.... Hinata just isn't the right person to do it. Any of Naruto's friends would have made more sense to me. I feel like 615 is her confession with worse consequences. Hinata could have died twice, the first time I feel she hurt more than helped. The second time, I would think she'd actually face consequences this time, but instead, Neji does, and then she continues on with her speech as if she had nothing at all to do with his death. She mentions his death, yes, but I feel like she hasn't taken any responsibility ever for her mistakes.

I'm not saying she should be a perfect character, none of the Naruto characters are and I have problems with all of them. (Except Minato, Jiraiya, and Kushina. ), but it rubs me the wrong way when some things are glazed over or true consequences are just forgotten. Naruto's past and family heritage are also one of these things, but that's a different topic.

Ah, rambles. All of it. Basically, I do not like the idea of Hinata, the one who definitely had a big role in Neji's death from a 2nd suicidal attempt to 'help' Naruto gets to give a big speech to Naruto right after said 2nd attempt. Maybe if that whole jumping in front of him and Neji's dying bit didn't happen, it wouldn't seem so wrong for her to reinforce his nindo that she's 'borrowed', but when I really look at it, it's just weird.

I don't agree with this.

Right before Hinata placed herself in front of Naruto in 614, it was emphasized by Hiashi that there was no time to dodge the spikes. In this case it would be useless for her to try to grab Naruto out of the way -they would've both been hit and killed- or to attack it because -they would have been both hit and killed-. Regardless of her actions Hinata and Naruto would have been harmed. By acting somewhat like a full body shield, Hinata would get the brunt of the blow and it would have at least gave Naruto more of a chance to live, even if he was injured as well.
So in that scenario, there's a solid reason as to why she was about to sacrifice herself. Unless you'd have preferred her to just stay out of the way and let Naruto get hit?

I definitely don't believe that she is the cause of Neji's death. She did not put him in danger, as both of their orders at the time were to protect Naruto. Even with Hinata not there I'm sure Neji would have jumped in front of the spikes, as his sacrifice for Naruto was emphasized (and he even says he did it for him) over an attempt to protect Hinata, although by the panels its obvious that he did it for both their benefit.

Okay, can I have a real talk with you guys. First off I think of you guys as my friends cause well we all convene in each other, regardless of whether its the internet or not, its just they way the world works now, this is especially true since we're all nerds lol.

Now I have to say that NaruSaku has become my obsession and I don't use that word lightly. It has taken over my life, that's all I think about all day...one second I'm confident in NaruSaku, then I'm not, then I am (as you can probably tell by all my bi-polar posts today). Almost to the point where it pains me and is annoying, but I need more. (sound like a druggy I constantly try to think and make sense of all the NaruSaku moments, I mean theirs a reason why they're there and why they're made in the specific way they we're...right? It can't just be me. I honestly don't know why I am so passionate about it, maybe I can relate to Naruto, maybe I desperately want someone like Sakura, maybe I'm living vicariously through Naruto. Maybe cause I get into other ships and I get disappointed, like I was a kid when I really wanted Taiora to happen and didn't, its like when they blame parents for kids having issues, maybe that previous disappointment is so engraved in my mind, that I need this to happen.

Okay so I don't want you to think I'm crazy, insane, suicidal yada yada, but like I'm said I'm just really passionate and I really want this to happen. I guess now that I've poured my soul to you over the internet, can anyone relate to me or has anyone felt like this and has recovered lol.

Hmmmm, i pretty much understand your problem, i also had problems like that maybe not that hard but still it was uncomfortable.
My advice to you: Stay away from any kind of NH or SS comments and stop googling NS, even if you want to, dont do it it wont make things better.
It will take a while but that obsession will fade away after some time. Just stay optimistic, it helped me to make up my mind and think about what route the manga took till now, and i came to the conclusion that everything points to NS. I realized that it is impossible for kishi to develope another pairing after 600 chapters without betraying his own story and characters, so now i know how unlikely it would be for kishi to do that.

As said, stay optimistic and make up your mind why NS is going to happen, we have about 100 reasons. Even after chapters like 615 theres no need to worry. You just have to expect chapters like these if the manga i going near its ending phase since kishi needs to resolve all of his characters. We should be happy that it wasnt sakuras time yet since she will be the one whos got the last word. The time you can start worrieng is as soon as naruto starts showing obvious signs of developing feelings for hinata, but thats incredible unlikely since hes the one who never changes.

And if you think that mybe kishi makes NH canon because of the fans, you should know that NS is much more popular in japan then NH.
So if i was you i would just see it this way: NH canon means ruined story a lot of wasted development, wrong story build up, ruined characters and going against the theme of shonen mangas.
NS canon means perfect flow with the story, main protoganist acchieves his goals, well developed story, happy ending, going with the theme of shonen.

No, lol I'm not referring to you. The NaruHina fan you quoted I've debated with a lot on the pairing forums of www.fanfiction.net. He's sort of my frenemy, he's Pro-Hinata and criticizes Sakura a lot which really upsets me. I respect his opinions and can usually have a civil talk with him, even better when he admits my points could be possible. I still haven't replied to a response he gave me a while back. Haven't really felt like it.

Whats funny is that if Hinata would of made that first contact and be Narutos childhood friend the whole story would turn out differently. If she actually was his closest friend and Sakura was his love than NH would have a lot more base and supporters. BUt it would be a whole diferent manga aswell.

I actually would have liked to see Kishi keep his original design of Hinata as the Ramen Chef's daughter. She could be one of his first childhood acquaintances, but retain her shy nature and secret infatuation with Naruto. Then, when he brought in Sakura as Naruto's crush, Kishi would have had an interesting romantic subplot to work with:

Should Naruto be with the civilian girl who has always accepted him for who he is, even when everyone viewed him as a failure of a ninja and an overall nuisance?
-or-
Should Naruto be with the kunoichi who at first acts disdainful towards him, but gradually warms up and forms a strong bond with him as they go through thick and thin together out in the field?

The development of each individual pairing would have taken place in drastically different settings. One at the ramen shop and in a peaceful atmosphere, and the other through rigorous training sessions together along with mutual life & death experiences.
Which girl truly understands the real him?

Of course, if he had done something like that, then we might have had an entirely different manga on our hands.

Another thing about 615: Most of us noticed that even Hinata didn't react to Naruto hold her hand, we should expected from her some comments about that maybe he was reciprocated her feelings or at least a surprise face ... but she just didn't react, the only thing we get from her was just a comment about Naruto's hand but nothing really romantic... but when you stop to think about what happened in 616, her lack of reaction makes sense, she KNEW that he was holding her hand to pass chakra, remember that everyone on the battlefield knew about Shikaku's plan ... that's why everyone reached out their hands to Naruto.

Some of you guys should really consider joining a debating team. TBH I'm almost tempted to suggest to some NS and/or Sakura dissidents that I know of to come to this forum just to watch them try and debate against posters like xxRomanceGirlxx and Slextrem. I wouldn't actually do that but I could understand why some would be tempted to do so when you consider the stigma that's generally associated with NS or Sakura. Just thinking of the prospect is enjoyable in a hypocritically sadistic sort of context.

THANK YOU! This is what I've been trying to say! If the Narutoverse ever hopes to achieve peace, then Sasuke must accept that if he tries to repopulate his clan, it would only be a matter of time before another Madara shows up. He should just let his clan die assuming if he becomes a wanderer. That's the only way I'll be okay with a not-dead Sasuke. Bonus points if Sasuke willingly gets himself sterilized and gets canonically confirmed to be Asexual, thus killing all known Sasuke pairings in existence.

That said, to be honest I've always had this theory in my head for a long time. That Sasuke will do exactly what Itachi did. Setting up a scenario where he's the villain and Naruto is the hero. It also goes in line with what he's asking of Hashirama (read first page of ch. 620)

You know, it wasn't until I joined this site that I realized that Tai x Sora was such a huge issue with so many people.

Since the romance side of Digimon wasn't really important as it is with Naruto I didn't really care. My only reaction to seeing Sora like Matt was "Really? That's so random. ". I was more into the plot itself, which wasn't really as good as the original series but I guess it was acceptable.

If it makes you feel better I heard that there where like about 10 different writers for Digimon 02 and that some changed during the middle of the production. Maybe that's why there's a good amount of inconsistencies in the series here and there. I heard that some story lines of the plot itself were cut due to the changes in writers. Basically, Digimon 02 was a creative mess.

Given that Naruto is the concept of a single man and not many different writers the chances of something like Digimon happening here are next to none. And about your self admitted obsession with the pairing, I can only recommend that you try to find other hobbies. The entertainment culture is pretty big so try to find a tv show, movie, or even other manga that can entice you. As much as I like Naruto it isn't even my favorite manga, that title goes to One Piece, you could check that manga out, I highly recommend it.

However, Kishi does have different editors as time passes by. These editors can be highly influential in determining the course of the manga. So, the way I see it, it's (almost) the same with Digimon.

I would beg to differ on manga recommendations: if you're looking for a pairing that you'll love to death without getting attacked left and right and with some good action fun and vibrant characters without worrying about said characters getting the shaft like Naruto does, I highly recommend Fairy Tail.

Before I forget, xxRGxx , here's a couple of my beefs about your post:

So to see this, after losing so many people already, and the actual motivation for Hinata's "death", it would kill him on the inside. "It's all my fault! If Hinata didn't feel this way about me, none of this would of happened!" is how he would feel. So, in reality, Hinata's confession is wholly selfish. She did not relieve Naruto of his burden, she just made it heavier. If you compare this to Sakura, it was the exact opposite during the Tenchi Bridge.

What if Sakura was in Hinata's place?? I'm not gonna dispute the confession itself, but what I want to ask is the fact she's endangering herself. If this is applied to Hinata, then what about Sakura?? what if Sakura was the one fighting Pain and got killed as a result?? what would you say?? stupid??? selfless???. You're bringing up the fact that if Hinata had died, it would guilt trip Naruto in more ways than one and that Hinata's act was nothing but utter stupidity. What if we switched it around?? what would you say to that??

Uhhh.... did you not read 614?? she was crying. But in 615, she had to do the pep talk. Because as Madara said it himself, if Obito can break Naruto, the alliance will fall apart. It's debatable, but if she had really been thinking of the importance of keeping up the Alliance's morale, then she's definitely not quite as selfish as you make her out to be.

All in all, I agree with the rest. Well done as always.

Also the Japanese are well aware about pairings in the shounen genre, they know its hero/heroine male protagonist/tsundere. Even if its always the same it doesn't get old to them, because in the end it all depends in how the mangaka develops the pairing throughout the story that's what counts. Naruto isn't different they already know its going to be NS since Sakura's debut in the series during her first treatment towards Naruto. It's like" hey she's been mean to Naruto, obviously she's the tsundere and she will end up with him at the end lol". Its all about logic when you see the pairing Kishi has given so much development and its heavily backing it up with so many parallels.
