It's actually going to be a lot worse than you might think it is, especially in regards to Sakura.

The song that we've been discussing about is Vessel of Stars and it's the song that comes with the CD cover of Naruto giving Hinata his back.

I wouldnt be surprise.. the way she acted on 699 was totally off. From being super concern to Naruto to not even giving him a reply

 
Because she knows she's just a rebound girl. It says in movie advertisements that she hates herself for not doing anything sooner when it comes to telling Naruto her feelings. Now she's getting him because his true love went with someone else.

Oh wait... did she finally realized that naruto loves someone else? Because all this time i got the impression that everyone knew Naruto has this deep love for Sakura that she seem unaware of...

Oh sorry ns was platonic right? Thats why hinata never react negatively to the ns hug scene after she confessed.

Naruto had a faint love for Sakura???? OMG they are making this so much worse. How in the hell is this the Naruto I grew to know, he loved her so selflessly and now they decide to kitten on his feelings. Naruto was never shown to be dishonest about his emotions. He is the hero, not a side character who is shown to have fickle emotions. His motto was 'to never give up' I would think that applied to everything he loved and believed in. They are sh**ting on the bond that naruto and sakura had, even if in the end we 'misinterpretted' their relationship, Naruto and Sakura still had the best developed bond. He loved sakura and he moved on, simple. Why are they making it now as if he never really loved her in the first place. They are making Naruto seem like someone who wasn't true to his feelings just to make light for naruhina so that it makes more sense. This makes me very sad. This Naruto who had a 'faint love' is not the Naruto I grew to love.

Yeah i get it..Kishimoto might have intended to create Hinata to end up with Naruto at the end but he made such FREAKIN mistake of making haruno sakura...or maybe we couldnt blame him.. since his characters naturally grew.. grew so much that even kishimoto couldnt stop.

It grew larger than life and is a screaming elephant in the room that you just have to dismiss to give way to a pairing that dont even makes sense.

Ugh naruto became such an important matter in my life whether i like it or not. 8 grew up with it and i cant accaept the anomally thatbis that 2 chapter and this movie.. my childhood dreams ...gone just gone

Are they serious? Naruto only had light feelings for Sakura? That's a load of kitten, and everyone knows it. Naruto was in love with Sakura, and I mean deep. He knew her better then anyone else, and I suppose they'll say Sasuke secretly loved Sakura for all those years he was gone, and didn't know how to recoup them, right?

At this point I don't want any closure on NaruSaku because I don't trust Kishimoto or Studio Pierrot's hack writers to deliver a meaningful end to that potential pairing.

 

I don't want to see Sakura reject Naruto, or have Naruto come to the sudden realisation Sakura was nothing more than a sister all along, or whatever horrible idea they might come up with.

If you are on tumblr, you may recall that back when the trailer for The Last first hit, a handful of NaruSaku fans started an unexplained movement where they would post (രᴗര๑) and nothing more. After what has happened in the canon, I feel partially responsible for getting hopes up and would like to offer an explanation.

A select group of NaruSaku fans who participate in a Skype group, myself included, were informed of some leaked information about the movie. It came from an official source, which I will refer to as X. We decided it would be best to keep the information to ourselves to protect the person who shared it with us, because X was very close to breaking its contract, and our group actually wasn’t supposed to know about it. For this reason, I cannot disclose who X is.

 

I know that a lot of you will feel skeptical about this, but I can assure you that X is a legitimate source. Long before it was announced that Hinata would even be in the movie, X predicted that she would play a very large role. As you will read, X also confirmed that we would see Naruto start his own family weeks before Naruto ended.

Here is the information we gathered from X’s leak:

 

1) The Lover-Nin’s confession to Sakura (in which she thinks of Sasuke after the Lover Nin says “If it’s a guy you love, he must be great!”) was made strategically by Kishimoto, and would be used in a future story.

We thought this meant that Sakura actually likes someone other than Sasuke, because she doesn’t think of Sasuke until after the lover-nin mentions that whoever she liked must be a great guy. We figured that when she revealed her feelings for Naruto, she would remember this scene, confirming that she had fallen in love with Naruto long before. That's a strategic way of using that moment, and it could also be used in a future story because they would be together.

 

2) Hopes of seeing Naruto with a son would come true.
Of course, since we thought that Sakura would reveal that she has feelings for Naruto, we thought that the epilogue might show that they start a family together.

 

3) Naruto will marry a tender woman.
We thought this was a reference to the “Even the roughest woman is tender to the guy she loves” speech by Shikamaru’s father. Sakura fit that description.

 

4) Sakura will always love Sasuke.
A girl supposedly never forgets about her first love, right? We thought that’s what X meant. She would ultimately move on from Sasuke, but always love him.

 

5) There will be a call back to Chapter 3.
The bench scene happens in Chapter 3. We thought it meant Naruto would confess.

 

Now the one I really want you guys to pay attention to is this...

 

6) Sakura being engaged or married will be a core part of the movie.
Due to the previous assumptions, we thought this meant Naruto and Sakura were already going to be married, engaged, or that Naruto would try to find the courage to ask Sakura to marry him in the movie (proposing with the necklace), and he would ultimately get that encouragement from Hinata (moment in the movie where he flashes puppy eyes at her.)

 

So as you can see, the information seemed to indicate a NaruSaku ending. Of course, we were all very excited about this, but the rest of the fandom was really down because of all of the NH in the trailer. In order to bring hopes back up without spreading this information throughout the fandom, we created (രᴗര๑). We wanted to assure everyone that everything would turn out just fine. They just had to endure all of the NH marketing until the end (hah).

 

 

Given the way that the final chapter of Naruto turned out, we’ve come to accept that the information was actually pointing to NH and SS all along.

 

1) There has been no mention of the Lover Nin chapter yet, but if it is brought up in the movie or the spin off, it will likely be used to reaffirm Sakura’s love for Sasuke.

 

2) Naruto has been shown with a family. They are Hinata, Himawari, and Bolt.

 

3) The tender woman who Naruto married ended up being Hinata.

 

4) Sakura clearly never stopped loving Sasuke romantically in the end.

 

5) If there is a call back to Chapter 3, it may mean a confession from Naruto, but he will ultimately be rejected because he’s married to Hinata in the epilogue. Or because there is a new generation, it could mean that the reference to chapter 3 has to do with the new teams being established, as that is the first time we see Team Seven.

 

6) There is a chance that Sakura is already engaged or married in the movie, and it will be to Sasuke – not Naruto.

 

I’m sharing this information with you because I care. I don’t want you guys to fool yourselves into believing that The Last will somehow cancel out the last two chapters and make NaruSaku canon. It won’t. Most of what X predicted has already come true and it hasn’t been in our favor. My advice is to spare your feelings from being hurt and avoid the movie altogether.

Idk about that Slex, 700 had way too many problems with it. NH/SS may have an advantage right now, but in my mind something's really off about all this.

Assuming that info about Naruto's "light feelings" is true or even partially true I just have to ask why? Why bother? Why sweep Naruto's feelings under the rug? To make the ending less jarring, newsflash the ending is always going to be jarring and a lot of people have pointed that out both shippers and non-shippers. All it's going to do is create further disconnect between the events of the manga and the resolution in the epilogue.

 

The last thing they should do is shy away from Naruto's feelings for Sakura. No they should use this as an opportunity to address the elephant in the room if they truly want to create a plausible reason as to how Naruto and Hinata end up together and that is the main one then they should have Naruto actually lay out his feelings for Sakura towards the beginning of the movie. 

 

Maybe have him tell her that he's loved her for so long but though it hurts he's willing to step aside in light of Sasuke beginning to reciprocate her feelings (as I think that's what the moment in 699 was about) or if what Slex says is true and Sakura is engaged/married and have her tell Naruto that she loves him too but she wants to be with Sasuke because she's in love with him (cheesy I know) and that she will always be his friend, teammate and that she will always believe in him and support him and have them part on amiable terms (because that's one of my biggest problems with 700 it just looks like everyone grew up and grew apart).

 

That can lead to Naruto going on the mission where him and Hinata can grow closer and Naruto can think that what's truly important about Kushina's words isn't finding someone whose personality matches his mother but someone who loves him unconditionally as she did.

 

Is it perfect? No. Does it excuse the massive jump in logic in the last few chapters? No. But at the very least it's a conclusion that I could accept even though it should never have been relegated to a movie and if they want to sell me that NaruHina and SasuSaku were always meant to be the end pairings (something I don't believe at all) then that's a good first step and the sad thing i came up with that scenario in 2 minutes and to me it's more satisfying and conclusive than anything that will probably show up in The Last.

Not to be a downer, but chapter three is where Sasuke's "annoying" line comes from. The one that is brought up constantly/is part of Sakura's confessions. I don't think it has anything to do with Naruto. Especially now that he ends up with Hinata.

Sakura might be engaged with 19?! What the hell are the movie makers and Kishi even thinking sending that kind of message? Here I am, a college student, whose more concerned about her calc grade than some kind of engagement. Is that why she is wearing this necklace that has been hidden so far? Is it an engagement ring? chapter 3 has the presentation of team 7 too... And X told that many years later we will have a callback to chapter 3. Seems like the he was talking more about a new generation than a confession.

 

Imho, Naruto won't never confess in the movie. Why he should wait 2 years for doing a such thing? Especially after the official tweet of the movie retweeted an article where the reviewer told that "Naruto hold a faint love for Sakura". I think really that Naruto has really gave up in the latest chapters of the manga.

 

Yeah, in the moment I read that he said Sakura will always love Sasuke, I got down and started officially to lose some hopes on the movie.
